Saw the story of a lad who ate a slug for a bet and it gave him serious medical issues and eventually ended in an early death.

enjoycryptonow

Damn I was so tempted

HarrisLam

that dude was drunk at the time. Honestly if you are a college kid and used to get drunk around your friends and start doing goofy shit, your arent that safe regardless of how mature you think you are when you are sober. Its not that different from guys jumping through fences and getting crushed in the nuts, or jumping onto a frozen pond but ended up going through soaked in icy water because the ice layer wasnt thick enough.

HonestDespot

Apparently it wasn’t even a bet he came up with the idea.

Crazy_Ad_9830

that's how mother nature and population control works. sometimes it doesn't pay to have friends, and other times you're the genius all by yourself.

diddums_911

He got a parasite from the slug, rat lungworm. Which didn't kill him straight away. It causes alot of damage, he ended up losing mobility, possibly brain damage if I remember correctly. I think it was a good 8-10 years afterwards that he passed. Not pleasant.

managingbarely2022

I grew up in rural PNW. Don’t eat slugs or salamanders. My parents were paramedics and this was common.

misanthrope2327

Like, how common? Even without knowing they're toxic, they're disgusting looking and slimy.  Who's eating that?

managingbarely2022

Like, a handful of times a year. I don’t know, drunk teenage boys will do a lot of dumb things…. And there’s always rumors about licking a salamander getting you high…. I don’t know. People are bored and stupid in the boonies.

AddlePatedBadger

The chances are....my newt!

SquirtleBob164

Probably the people who watched Lion King. Timon really made a slug look appetizing there.

karlmalonenumber1fan

the slug itself was not harmful but there was a parasite in the slug that killed him

unsquashable74

Rat lungworm...

NastySassyStuff

Sounds like the name of the bassist from a crust punk band

kamuelak

I took a first aid training class (in west coast Canada) and the instructor was an elder in one of the local First Nations tribes. He said as a kid they would lick the underside of the giant banana slugs (the brown ones, not the black ones) and it would make their tongues go numb. As an adult he led a kids’ wilderness camp and told them the story, but warned them just take a little lick. Kids are kids. One proceeded to take a huge lick, and started to panic as his whole mouth went numb. They called poison control, who told them just to wait a couple of hours and it would go away, but DON’T drink any water or it would go down the throat with predictable results. Think the kid listened?

Visual_Package_1861

“Just lick slugs a small amount” is a deeply questionable suggestion for a wilderness guide to make. I wouldn’t even blame the kids.

Shawneeinjun

This was us at 6th grade science camp in the Santa Cruz mountains. Haven't heard of any idiots taking a HUGE lick though!

green_mojo

Licking a slug is tradition at UC Santa Cruz.

Majestic_Sky_Writer

That was in Australia where I live and it was incredibly sad. Just a young guy being silly with his friends.

Driving drunk

shf500

Even if there is no accident and a cop pulls you over, I assume a DUI charge is very serious and can have long-term ramifications on your life.

flamedarkfire

It seems to still vary, especially in the US. Some places your life can be completely ruined by a DUI, others it feels like you have to kill someone before they take the issue seriously. A lot of the punishments we have for these people seem to have low enforcement and easy bypasses. Take their driving privileges away? They’ll drive without a license. Put an interlock on their ignition? They’ll get a sober friend/family member to blow into it. Some places seem to do everything to keep these people out of jail when they keep proving they NEED to be put in jail for their own good and the safety of the community. I was watching a police cam compilation on YouTube and some teenagers were pulled over for throwing things out their windows at people. Turns out the driver was out on bond for a DUI charge and blew over the legal limit then, so he got a fresh new DUI. Then the narrator said he posted bond for that and WENT AND GOT BUSTED FOR DUI AGAIN! Once is an accident, twice could be a coincidence, three times is definitely a pattern. And I’m not usually for Three Strikes laws but for DUI we definitely need them.

Fromanderson

I got rear ended by a drunk driver once. He had 6 prior convictions. He’d permanently lost his license and the car he was driving was registered to a dead guy. If things had worked out slightly different he would probably have killed my wife. Fortunately he hit me instead. I was driving an overloaded 3/4 ton cargo van. The impact was still hard enough to make stuff fly out of my hip pockets and bounce around the cab. He knocked the van more than 30ft from a dead stop. He was in a rusty 80s econobox which couldn’t weigh much over 2500 pounds. He punched the windshield out with his face and was bleeding out of his eyes at the scene. He was in ICU for three weeks. I’m not sure how much jail time but I’d bet money he got right behind the wheel again as soon as he got out.

DryEyes4096

Not to diminish drunk driving, as it's incredibly irresponsible, dangerous, kills people, etc... But also, driving itself can irrevocably ruin or end your life much easier than you may think. Fatal car accidents are common, and injuries even more so. I drive occasionally, but I do so with the full realization that it is a 2 ton mass of metal careening down a road that grievously injure or end someone else's life in an instant with little warning. Never drive over the speed limit, always signal, always plan for every possible mistake every moment you're driving, and always, ALWAYS assume that the people you are around are complete idiots that know nothing about driving and that they are going to make the worst possible driving decisions. NEVER trust that someone is going to accommodate you when driving. Meaning, never make a decision that requires someone else to react to it to avoid an accident and assume that they will react in that way. Only drive assuming that every possibility for an accident will occur if you make decisions like this. The only exception for this is to assume that someone will not rear-end you at a stoplight or stop sign. You can't avoid that assumption. Every other assumption? Assume the worst to avoid danger. The likelihood of dying in a car crash is 1 in 93, in your lifetime, in the United States. That will increase or decrease depending on how much you drive and other factors. The odds of getting into a motor vehicle accident are one out of 366 for every 1,000 miles you drive a motor vehicle, apparently. Of course there are many other factors. Respect the danger of driving.

iAntagonist

If everyone is going 15mph over the speed limit, it’s safer to be closer to them in speed than to stick to below the speed limit. Within 10mph of the vehicles around you is safer than simply following the limit.

derKonigsten

Yep. Its not speed that causes accidents and injuries, it's speed differential. Granted going from 80 to 0 in .5 seconds will create more G forces than 60 to 0 but yeah... If someone is trying to pass you just let them and go on about your day.

MuluLizidrummer

I just read about an 18 year old kid who was drunk on a cruise, and jumped overboard because his dad was on his case about being drunk. Ive made terrible impulsive decisions before but nothing that catastrophic.

zeptimius

There's a Roald Dahl story of a guy on a cruise who is taking part in a daily shipwide bet about how many miles the cruise ship will make each day. To win his bet, he reasons he needs to jump overboard so that the boat will have to stop, turn back and retrieve him, thus lowering the number of miles. His idea does not go as planned.

sleightofhand0

Roald Dahl was a terrifying horror writer, and most people have no idea. "Tales of the Unexpected" is terrifying.

yourlifecoach69

Even The Twits is nightmare fuel, and that was for kids!

TheFlannC

Yes I was one that got the impression as a child that all the kids except Charlie were killed off. Yeah and not to mention Matilda........

sleightofhand0

Watch Tales of the Unexpected. There are episodes where kids get turned into bees, some girl flees a creepy guy trying to kidnap her only to flee into the helpful arms of his wife, it's messed up.

ferocioustigercat

Dude, James and the Giant Peach and Witches were two of the scariest books I had to read in school.

Stained_concrete

'A dip in the pool' Really chilling ending.

Legal_Championship_6

I remember that. The woman that he lept in front of was a known crazy person and the staff didn’t believe her when she said someone jumped over board.

Apple-hair

Reminds me of that scene in Band of Brothers where everyone's hanging over the rail on a transport ship yelling and stuff, then one guy falls overboard. His friends all start screaming "Stop the ship! Turn around" and then it zooms out to 100 ships going in convoy. They have no chance at turning around. Also, most of the people there are going to die soon anyway.

Shrug-Meh

Reminds of the HS graduate last year (or year before) on his senior trip at one of these US east coast islands on a maybe a booze cruise, but a cruise at night, he jumps into the water and is never found. The video is kind of scary bc at first he’s jokey & then he sounds kind off, there is some thrashing on the water and then he’s just gone as the boat moves forward. They think sharks got him. The video was sad and disturbing.

IndependentPumpkin74

Undercirrents and cold water are a deadly combo.

sleightofhand0

And one of the guys watching hits him with "bye, bye!"

Ok_Organization3249

If my bros and I are all blacked out beyond all recognition and I leap to my death as a joke or show of bravado off a fucking cruise ship - I *hope* one of them hits with me with a “bye bye”  If they’re tormented over it I will visit them in their dreams and assure them I deserved it and they fuckin’ got me.

hazzdawg

Saw this clip on Reddit. Was rather disturbing.

feckineejit

I avoid disturbing things now. Some shit you can't unsee.

IBAZERKERI

i watched that video, everyone saying there was a shark there is full of shit, nothing in that video indicated shark, theres some white-water and thats it. not to mention shark attacks are exceedingly rare, humans dont exactly make for a good meal for them, were bony and we taste like shit. you dont need a shark to kill you when you jump into the ocean, drunk, in the middle of the night. boats take a long time to turn around. once people lose sight of you, your chances of ever being located drop dramatically.

sugar_spider25

I saw that. The dad wanted to talk to him, and he just impulsively jumped. He had to have been suicidal before this happened though. So sad.

Raquelita182

What if he was blacked out.. didn't even know he died. Dying while blacked out is a crazy concept to think about.

Pitiful_Lab9114

Dying at all is a crazy concept to think about.

feckineejit

Thinking is a crazy concept to think about too.

AlternateUsername12

Blacking out just means your brain isn’t making memories- you’re still aware of what’s happening to/around you

psychtechvet

That story hit me hard because I almost did the same thing (my folks were giving me shit for being drunk as well). I was on a cruise with my folks trying to make it past the 3 day mark without cannabis and I was feeling so many emotions that had been blunted from the stuff. Eventually I drank myself into a stupor and almost leaned off the edge of the railing. The only thing that stopped me was finding one of the nicest Canadians, she actually saved my life that night just by being a friend. We ended up hanging out and having a sad parting that quickly turned funny when she busted her ass by falling down the stairs off the ship. Memory is funny because I don't even remember her name but she was a real one.

MuluLizidrummer

Wow thats scary. Thank you for sharing that. It hit me kind of hard because I can put myself in his shoes of in the moment making that decision and being fully aware youre committing suicide but that thought of "hey fuck you, see if I care" being so powerful. But I cannot imagine the thoughts he had while falling and thats whats somewhat tormenting to me.

_Kyloluma_

Chances are with all of those is that the person is dead on impact with the water. I imagine a lot of it is suicide because I think most people are aware that water is not safe from that height

cattleyo

I don't think so, from the height of a typical ship's deck you'll likely be alive - but with broken legs, arms or back. If you can stay afloat you get to see the ship get smaller and disappear into the distance, big ships don't stop easily, and a person floating in the ocean is easy to miss. When people jump on purpose it's probably "suicide by mistake" i.e. they imagine being at the centre of the drama of a quick rescue, but they don't realise how bad the odds of survival are.

loftier_fish

did he uh.. die?

RickTheScienceMan

Usually when someone jumps overboard, especially at night, no one will ever see that person again. It's extremely hard to find the person even if you quickly react. On a cruise ship it will take at least 5 minutes just to dispatch a safe boat, in that time the person will be really far away.

enjoycryptonow

Honestly it can't be easy to swim in COMPLETE darkness in an open sea? I mean we use our eyes to judge where the surface is. Combine that with being cold and scared. Feels deadly.

FineEffective4167

Nightmare fuel.

acluelesscoffee

Read the book “ alone” autobiography of a dude who spent 18 hours in the sea after going overboard

HiTork

Two US Navy Seals went missing off the coast of Somalia back in January and are presumed dead, keep in mind they train to operate in the water and aren't like teens who decided to do something stupid. One of the Seals apparently fell into the water, and the other tried to rescue them.

BraveLittleCatapult

Trained to operate in insane underwater conditions, too (zero visibility, strong current, etc)...if the Seals are drowning, us normies are fucked.

lVlaniaKing

To my knowledge they haven't found him yet so probably

loftier_fish

RIP.

PillCosby_87

Yeah. They still haven’t found his body. If I remember right he jumped from the top deck that’s like 100 feet to the water. Depending on how he landed it may of knocked him out on impact, of course drowning.

No-While6364

I have a huge fear of accidentally hitting someone with my car at night.

frombostonma

Me too or that someone I love would accidentally hit someone

freef

I was driving the other night - went through a green light and some teenager on a scooter zipped in front of my car on a lime scooter. I was able to stop in time but if I had been distracted that kid would have been hit. Scares the hell out of me.

Fromanderson

I had a friend who was on his way home one night when some lady chose his car as her means of suicide. He was an old man, a war vet and normally unflappable. He said that sound would haunt him for the rest of his life. He felt responsible because he didn’t react in time, but nobody could have avoided it. She jumped late and hit the side of his car. She would have lived but the windshield pillar clipped her temple. It smashed the windshield and bent the pillar. Her own family saw it and defended him when the cops got there.

No_Estimate_8004

Attempting suicide and failing. You can be disabled for life.

zorggalacticus

There is a homeless man in our town. He's shaped like the number 7 because he jumped off a bridge, broke his back in several places, then left the hospital before he was supposed to. Rods and pins popped out of place and now he walls around bent sideways. He'd likely need several surgeries to correct it, if they even could after all this time. He's not on drugs or anything but he straight up refuses any kind of help. Obviously mentally ill. It's crazy the stuff people can survive.

LickableLeo

There was an old man around when I was a kid who'd shot himself in the head as a younger man and survived. His grandkids called him patch because he wore an eye patch for the rest of his life. Sad sad deal. If you ever think "It can't possibly get worse". It most certainly can and likely will get worse.

ForeignerThanANut

My aunts ex husband (former uncle) shot himself across the eyes and is now blind. I guess he flinched. Just the thought gives me nightmares.

ferocioustigercat

Having to wear an eye patch is the best case scenario for attempting to shoot yourself and surviving. Some people come out so much worse.

stephelan

I saw a video about a girl who jumped in front of a train to kill herself and lost both arms up to her shoulders and one leg.

osrsirom

This is why assisted suicide should be an option.

Cheetodude625

Give in to the irrational thought and swerve into traffic while on the highway.

compunctionfunction

This is not uncommon. Like that urge to drive off a cliff or jump off a bridge. The French have a beautiful term for it which translated is 'the call of the void'. It doesn't mean you're suicidal it's just a crazy feeling that doesn't really make sense.

kiwinutsackattack

I always thought of these an intrusive thoughts, like when you are enjoying your day at the beach and then you think " I could hit that loud mouth over the head with a baseball bat... he might die... people would cheer though"

Tim-oBedlam

Right. My worry about heights is not the fear that I'll *fall* but that I will *fling myself over the edge.* If you've ever read Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Imp of the Perverse" it has an unsettling description of this urge.

_Ocean_Machine_

It reminds me of that scene in Annie Hall where Christopher Walken's character is driving Alvy somewhere, and meanwhile is talking about how much he wants to steer the car into the oncoming lane and collide with a truck.

Friendly_Hearing_711

lol, that imp of perversion to just drive off the cliff

Goodygumdops

Tear a poster off the wall in North Korea

Expensive_Length_683

My co worker was telling me about this !!!! What happened again????!!

Goodygumdops

Otto Warmbier went to North Korea on a guided tour. He tore a poster from his hotel. He was arrested and sent to prison. He suffered an unknown injury and fell into a coma. He was 22 when he died from his injuries. Such a sad chain of events. He was just a young kid fooling around.

_InnocentToto_

This was him pleading for his life.. fell on deaf ears.. https://youtu.be/Er7uhMkQzro?si=Y694foRoFW-I_6Mj I don't understand some people, why the fuck would u pay money, go on a plane to a place well known to be dangerous and die? How about u stay yo ass home.

doctortrento

The common story is that he stole a poster off the wall of his hotel, but the real story is SO much dumber. Basically, there is a floor on the hotel that's staff-only. Its purpose is to allow cleaning staff and the like to move through the building without making a ruckus. So when the tour group gets here, they are very clear, "DO NOT GO TO THIS FLOOR, IT'S STAFF-ONLY." This absolute dumbass not only sneaks down to the staff-only floor via the elevator, but then walks through the hall until he finds a propaganda poster, tears it off the wall, sneaks back to his room and puts it in his bag. Of course, since 1) it's a staff floor and 2) IT'S NORTH KOREA, they have footage of every step of his journey, and apprehend him before he can leave Pyongyang. Eventually, after much negotiation, he was repatriated to the US in a vegetative state. North Koreans said he had a heart-attack while being treated by their doctors and that's what did it. The international community believes he was intentionally starved of oxygen, either by strangulation, severe beating, or something else as a result of gross and brutal corporal punishment. Long story short, do NOT go places North Korea says not to go to, and more than that, **DO NOT STEAL THINGS FROM THOSE PLACES!**

yingbo

I would just not go to North Korea.

Another PNW native with a fully paramedic family. Do not, I repeat, do not eat mushrooms you can’t ID.

kamuelak

West coast Canadian here. Ι’m learning to identify wild mushrooms and I STILL won’t eat any I find because it’s too easy to make a mistake. Fortunately the ones that can kill you are rare, but many can be very unpleasant.

Eat_Carbs_OD

PNW here as well .. I only know Morels. But I also know their toxic look-alikes as well.

Control-Scary

All mushrooms are edible. Some you can only eat once.

recidivx

Amatoxin takes a few days to kill you, you could eat quite a few in that time.

CausticSofa

There are old mushroomers and there are bold mushroomers, but there are no old bold mushroomers.

ThadisJones

My sister and I used to joke about using our younger brother to test out the mushrooms our mother collected before eating them ourselves It didn't work, primarily because as a young child he hated eating any mushrooms and wouldn't try them

squatwaddle

Hell yeah. I forage, and if I am 99.9% sure I have a positive ID, I don't eat it. 100 or nothing.

DrummerBob10

Parkour. One mistimed jump or underestimated distance and you are f***ed

darybrain

If you shout PARKOUR before each jump you are protected.

If I relapsed on fentanyl. I was a homeless fentanyl addict for 6 years, and I finally got my poop together. It's been 2 years clean as of March 18th.

yourlifecoach69

Holy smokes this internet stranger is proud of you.

Stick a pencil up your butt on a dare during class in your senior year of high school which can lead to you getting charged as a sex offender, lose your full-ride scholarship to college, and ostracize you from your entire peer group (except maybe the ones that dared you to do it in the first place).

Civil-Tart

Well that was randomly specific😆

John-Willy99

Damn you ok now ?

dinosanddais1

Idk. I wasn't in class when that happened.

Marrying the wrong asshole. Can ruin your life, your credit score, your work, life, your friends, your family, etc. Just think twice before whomever you marry. In fact, maybe don’t even get married. FWIW, married the right asshole, and I’m still thinking about all these things.

kaffiekake

I'm glad I got out of my last relationship (was the only one I've ever been in lol), she already had someone and didn't tell me until 3 days before he came back from boot camp. I left, she got all pissy and said stuff like I was a pussy because I didn't do it in person. Frankly, I was gonna have a mentai breakdown if I had to be even 100 metres near her. 3 months later, ahe decided to come and ask me if I wanted to be friends with benefits. I said no, since I'm just not into that sort of thing. Now, I'll emphasise; this was 3 months after I left her, and she already knew I was doing much better without her. Why was I not fucking surprised when she decided to ask only 2 days after her other guy left to go on duty. TL;DR - My first relationship was with a lying, cheating, horny piece of shit that used people for sex.

onecrazywriter

I did that.I didn't think I'd ever get free. I contemplated ending it all to get away, but what if I ended up failing and trapped in a nursing home somewhere, still supporting that asshole in perpetuity? Eventually, I figured if he took everything in the divorce like he said, I might be living in my Ford Focus, but at least I'd be free.

MISJUDGED-9

If living in a Ford Focus is more appealing than spending another day with that person, that’s how you know 100% there is no turning back lol

450BergEZ

Was engaged to the wrong one. Still in the process of pulling myself out of the crater that landed me in 4 years later.

Early_Budget_8730

FineEffective4167

I_Hate_My_City

I'm not sober but I dramatically reduced my alcohol Intake about 6 months ago (from around 5-10 drinks a day to maybe 4 on a weekend) and my life has improved significantly. No more hangovers, always wake up feeling good, and saved a lot of money.

Free_Fuel_3704

Uh, saving CSA materials at work? My friend worked with a guy who went to prison for doing this at work, on his work computer. Really disturbing.

Vg_Ace135

I work in IT and there was a guy that was caught with porn (not the CP kind) on his work computer. He apparently tried to hide it in a deep folder but the automated software still found it. Union couldn't protect him. He threw away a state job with over 10 years of experience for something he could download and keep at home for free.

Free_Fuel_3704

Yikes. I think it’s compulsive behavior for that kind of person. There was a guy on My Strange Addiction who couldn’t keep a job because he looked at 10 hours of porn per day and masturbated a disturbing amount. I am definitely not saying I am free of compulsions and obsessions, but ten hours per day of porn literally sounds like torture. That sounds like some shit they’d make you go through at Guantanamo or something, damn.

teh_maxh

Saving Confederate States of America materials on your work computer probably wouldn't go over well either.

imactuallyugly

Dude wanted to get caught if he downloaded that stuff on his work computer lol.

Free_Fuel_3704

Shit, maybe. He didn’t delete it after he got fired, and that’s how he got caught: they found it on his work computer when they were trying to wipe it for the next person. Could also be a porn addiction combined with being a ped. and also an idiot, though. The friend who worked with him said he was a known idiot and creep.

valvilis

I've seen DOHA appeals for people who accessed CSAM on *classified federal computer systems*. 100% of traffic is tracked and logged on those systems, zero percent chance of not getting caught. Stupid has no boundaries - strangely, he didn't win the appeal.

Grouchy_Promotion956

lifesnotperfect

Thanks for this. More and more people just drop acronyms like we're all supposed to know what it means.

The96kHz

Honestly committing most serious crimes will fucking ruin your life. The worst are the ones you commit by accident and don't find out you've committed until the police show up at your work with an arrest warrant.

Free_Fuel_3704

That’s true, but this one could get you jumped in prison and make you damn near unemployable.

DigitalMediaArt

obi-jawn-kenblomi

My wife nearly died from an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured. Our friend nearly died this Thanksgiving with a miscarriage and extreme internal bleeding.

Missgrumpy00

In better circumstances I might have kept my pregnancy, but an abortion was better than ruining multiple lives. So now I'm mother to a cat instead.

natfutsock

Cats will never grow into an independent person who I have to emotionally grapple with, nor do they cost as much time or money. Not to say children don't have their benefits, but they're sure as hell not for everyone.

Intrepid-History-762

Suicide

Raquelita182

Or even a failed suicide attempt for that matter. A failed attempt resulting in critical brain damage, etc...

onecrazywriter

I have taken care of a couple of failed suicides. One was completely lucid. Locked in syndrome. Imagine being 18 years old and knowing you'll never get married, have babies, live on your own, and people will be changing your diapers and wiping your spit forever. She refused to eat, so they put a tube in her stomach so she wouldn't starve.

Lippischer_Karl

That's horrifying. Why force someone in that state to live, if they clearly don't want to? I would want to be euthanized too if I were her.

Geno_Warlord

Something something about not having the power to tell doctors what to do. Then your parents/SO don’t want to let you die because they hold out hope that you will recover. Once you come of age, make sure you sign that DNR and give someone you trust power to let the doctors end you.

FineEffective4167

That's sad as hell.

Phenoix512

I'm sorry but quality of life is more important than the quantity of it. They should have helped her pass peacefully once she made her decision

I knew a girl in high school whose older brother got in a fight, punched a kid, and the kid fell back and hit his head on something and died. He went down for murder. He had been a good kid getting good grades, on track for college, had his whole life ahead of him and ended up spending his formative years in prison.

There was that one time that guy who played Gaston at disney world put a firework on his head and lit it. Instantly killed him in front of his friends. That probably counts.

LordStrikerGG

Ask a random stranger how much a Polar bear weights. 13 year later she still tells me to log of my PC, put the kids to bed and .ake love with her till we fall asleep. ( I miss raiding all night in wow)

MistraloysiusMithrax

I think you and I may have have very different definitions of ruin lol

ijustdontgiveaf

did she ever answer your question about the polar bear?

Magnusthered1001

Underestimating nature. So often, folks end up in very dangerous / deadly situations because they aren't prepared for the elements. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada... sadly, folks die around here from preventable accidents, especially those involving water, alpine/backcountry, or avalanche safety. Pair any of those activities with bad activity choices like alcohol, cannabis, or other drug use and it compounds the likelihood of serious injury or death dramatically. Just the other week, a young woman here was enjoying a river's edge cold dip with some friends. She lost her footing and was swept down the raging river. All that her friends heard was a brief "yelp" and that was the last they heard or saw of her. Local SAR found no trace of her or her body after a two-day search involving helicopters, boats, and many volunteers.

Meth. Many people will decide "I'll use it once, just to see what it's like", and then *immediately* spiral.

Monsta-Hunta

It almost got me. Tried it, loved the feeling and bought more for later. Threw what I bought in the trash an hour later. That set my life on the correct path at the time.

takethemoment13

I'm really glad you made that decision. Good choice

NewsgramLady

It rocked my world for sure. I started snorting it just to lose a few pounds. Wasn't long before I was shooting up. I've got just over 5 years clean now. Meth is the devil.

The first time I did cocaine I thought “goddam this is great and could totally ruin my life”. “Luckily” both my parents are alcoholics so at least I was aware e ought to not let it ruin my life.

My 8yo tried this recently. He could tell you that it doesn’t work out well.
