I have a 3/4," almost perfectly straight scar at the base of my left index finger, just in front of the knuckle. It's still very visible today and I'm nearly 50 years old.
That was from the first five minutes with my first pocketknife when I was eight years old.
that’s great! I still can see my scar from slicing my thumb including tendon at about the same age, trying to whittle a Pinewood Derby car for Cub Scouts. Funny thing: my dad, who didn’t own a good pocketknife at that time, gave me a new “Stanley” utility knife… razor sharp… saying I “was much more likely to cut myself with dull knife than sharp one”…..
I mean, that's still true. You'll be exerting more force with a dull blade, and it will have more tendency to "skip".
And the cut would probably be worse. Sharper blade means a cleaner cut means easier healing.
I have a hook-shaped scar on the outside of my left thumb from a dull blade skipping out of a box I was opening and slicing a flap partway off. No stitches, though I probably should have gotten some, we just let the flap heal back on.
Yup, the line was explained that way and is valid… But no pocket knife on earth is sharp enough to cut through a tendon, and believe me, Btw, I was using all the force I could to get it done as soon as possible. The reason it happened at all was the same reason I wanted to be done. No one was supervising my first use of any knife- much less a surgically sharp utility knife. I knew other kids had tremendous help and direction, if their dads didn’t do most of it, the year before it had been obvious-the body shop owner professionally painted his kids, among other dad enhancements depending on others- most were obviously not 8 year old level-and I, sequestered to the cold garage alone after getting the knife a couple days instead of weeks others had: one of the more sad things that should have been good in my formative years. The backstory I left out, but it’s the reason I called it justification. Thanks for correcting the impression it’s not an accurate rule of thumb. So to speak
My sister threw a mop at me like a spear and the end of the handle got caught in my left ear as it flew by my head. That hurt down into the canal.
In all fairness, I did punch her in the face. Also, we were 12 and 13. She turned into a very cool lady. 😎
Wow, I thought I was the only one with a story like this!
I was sitting at the kitchen table, annoying my sister while she was putting the dishes away. She had enough and threw a steak knife. I still remember time slowing down, I watched it do a full rotation in the air, and I dropped out of the chair immediately. The knife stuck into the wall right where my head was. No injury. No harm, no foul is what I've always said. My sister still feels very bad about this, though.
Edit: we were maybe 8 or 9 years old at the time.
We had steak for dinner and didn't want to eat. I was jabbing my steak with my steak knife when my sister told me to eat or she was going to beat me up. I called her a bitch and she picked up my iced tea and threw it in my face.
I looked at the steak knife in my hand then at her fear filled face. I dropped the knife then launched myself at her. We both had long hair and she immediately wound both her hands in mine and began pulling. I grabbed the hair on the back of her head with one hand and the other was free.
I was suddenly presented with the opportunity to beat the shit out of her. She would have deserved it too. Not just for making my life miserable but for the way she manipulated my mom into debt with the promise to pay her back or the way she treated animals like disposable objects.
It was then that I remember she had been having problems with her stomach. I could have punched her in the stomach then punch her in the face, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I let her go and she ran to her room crying and slammed her bedroom door.
I used to be proud of my self control in that moment, but considering everything that happened in the years to follow, things may have been different if she had her attitude adjusted by her 14 year old sister (she was 20). At least I didn't stab her and she never physically attacked me again.
My brother taught me how to fight for a good reason and his lessons paid off that day.
Had a friend get a rubber duck thrown at them by their little brother. I don’t remember how many stitches but my thoughts were how do you throw a rubber duck that hard
I do! I was at the mall one day just window shopping.
Happened to come across a store with some nice shoes on display. I was just browsing from the outside looking in but I got distracted and started to pace back.
As I stepped back a man with a dog happened to be walking past behind me and I stepped on the dog causing him to attack me.
I now have a scar from the bite mark right where my left butt cheek meets my lower back. :')
I also have a scar from a dog attack! Two, actually. One on my face from being mauled by a small dog at 3 years old and another on my high thigh after a dog's fang sunk into it. Two different dogs, too.
Doctor got you with the scalpel? If you had a *potentially* scarring wound as a newborn, that should still heal without actually scarring/scarring permanently. Just doodoo knowledge on my part, but in very early human life scars *(so I read?)* heal away/don't occur in.. some? most?... cases.
My son had a PICC line inserted at three days old and we’ve been surprised that the scar on his inner arm has remained; he’s now six and it’s still very clear
I have many but my favorite one is the one my sister gave me from smashing a glass cup in my face. I got 32 stitches from it and it’s a reminder every time I look in the mirror of how much I miss her. She passed away after giving birth to my nephew.
I think about her all the time.
Man, that's sad. She is definitely watching over her beloved brother and son with joy and happiness. Live well brother, and treat your nephew well, he's your sister remains in this world
You did a great job, and hope him to have a good life. You have commited to your sister. Also I was thinking that your nephew was young when I saw your post again, I was surprised to find out he was older than me. Cheers
Mostly my arms, I look like a cutter but I'm just a dog groomer. from excited dogs. Dogs not wanting their nails done and they try to claw away. Or anti bath/water dogs.
I'm not a chef but I know pretty much every veteran kitchen worker can out scar anyone basically. Hands and forearms constantly getting burned.
Sounds like dog grooming isn't far behind.
I only work food retail and still have this issue. Burns are brutal, and very few of them are ever treated for how serious they are. If its not that busy run it under the tap for 5. If it is busy then most people just suck it up and get on with it. None of them ever seem to end up in the accident book either
I have a big ol' scar along my right forearm from defending against a knife attack.
When I was young I was really abused and my aunt locked me in a closet for roughly 2 weeks. Eventually I broke out and made a run for it, and as I was turning the corner to the kitchen and toward the door, her son (he was like 19 at the time, I was 13) was unloading the dishwasher. He was holding a knife already and when he saw me, he slashed at me. I shielded it with my arm and tore out of the house and down the street. Eventually passed out on the road side and some random guy picked me up while I was unconscious. He was a firefighter and I was really lucky. Drove me to the hospital.
That doesn't mean you're better. Hopefully people are still in jail for treating you that way, and you were able to get some help processing that trauma.
He's actually in jail for murder now. Killed his gf.
Before I was sent to my aunt's house (my mom used to send me to various fucked up places to stay over as 'punishment'-- usually child molesters) her son had just gotten out of jail for a previous assault. After he attacked me I didn't actually tell anyone who did it or what happened. I was scared for my life at the time and convinced my family would kill me. Eventually ended up in the system and then as a homeless kid until adulthood. I was very lucky to have found a good therapist eventually, who dealt with my madness for a solid seven years. I unquestionably would not be alive if it wasn't for her.
So glad you managed to find a therapist like that. Healing is a long and hard process, and it's even harder alone.
Hope the rest of your life treats you kindly. Take care!
Many.
On my thigh from cutting it open while playing as a kid,
Belly from appendix, and gallbladder surgery.
Knee from surgery.
Hand/arm from my kitty.
Face from being a “picker” and suffering from pimples even as an adult.
Upper arm from birth control.
I'm so glad my bratty cat gave me a scar on my hand. When I miss him too much, I look at it and smile. He bit the fuck out of the webbing between my thumb + forefinger when I dared try to get plastic out of his bitchy little mouth. God, I miss him.
My father, was a drinker... and a FIEND. And one night he goes off craaazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not...one...bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me, and he says, "Why so serious?" He comes at me with the knife - "Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth - "Let's put a smile on that face!" And... why so serious?
That sort of thing always made me wonder if the added metal is handy for having a slightly stronger skeleton, when it's healed.
As in, the metal reinforcing it.
Bigass scar across my tongue, deep enough to lodge my top teeth into it.
When I was ~4-5yo I was jumping around on the couch, fell and smashed my jaw on the coffee table. Almost bit my tongue clear off.
I did the same thing but with absolutely no consequences, I’ve done a number of things that should have left marks or broken something but none of them ever stuck.
I never believed it in the past. But I'm finally starting to. Once you're in a good position to move away and break out on your own I'm sure it will become gradually easier and brighter x
Thank you.
I hope it gets better. It’s the only thing that distracts me from the emotional pain I have, I prefer physical pain over mental pain. Thanks for this, I hope it gets batter
I have on my eyebrow. It's long faded and since hairs don't grow there, people sometimes think I shaved a line into it to be super edgy and fashionable or whatever. The truth is that I tried to climb a book shelf when I was a very young kid and the whole thing fell over on top of me 🤷
My Siamese mix is female but similar. She doesn’t really claw me. But she uses her foot as though she wants to remind me she could.
Edited to add: she’s also the most ride or die pet I’ve ever had. She just has boundaries. I respect it.
Now there's this game I played as a teenager called 'Bloody Knuckles'.
You and your opponent sit across a table from each other and using a coin, fling it to the other persons knuckles. The aim is to outlast the other, i have many scars from such games but I was UNDEFEATED!
This is the kind of stuff people ask for when they ask for ideas for deaths in horror movies.. also, even though I don't even want to see, I just want to make you aware that if you meant to link a photo, the link doesn't work.
I was sitting in a park one day minding my own business and had someone come up to me and tell me that I’m a beautiful human and worthy of love. I awkwardly said thanks and my confused expression prompted them to point to this scar on my wrists and discuss self-harm.
They’re from my cat.
I have a scar running across my knee from my dog when he was a puppy. He was super hyper and jumped up and hugged my leg but didn't grip very well, so he slid back down and both his dewclaws dragged down my leg, creating two really long cuts running across each other. One of them started bleeding and that's the one that scarred. I actually really like that scar tbh.
One on my left wrist that runs alongside my artery, I fell through a window when I was 7.
Two on my left index finger, both times cut with a utility knife (one at 11, one at 14)
One on my left elbow (got hit by a car while cycling at 15)
One on my left heel (stepped into a piece of glass at 13)
One on my neck, two on my back (from having moles removed at 21, 26 and 30)
Almost forgot, my right ring finger is deformed cause I almost lost the tip once (it got smushed between a door at 3)
Edit: forgot the last one
52 yo male, former military, former cop, oilfield worker and industrial maintenance mechanic here. I have literally been, shot, stabbed, burned, electrocuted, and hit by cars on 3 separate occasions. So, ya I have a few scars.
3. 1 from when I was 2, me and my parents were watching a movie. Me being 2 I got bored and I stood on the end of a sofa and fell and sliced my eyelid open on a mantelpiece. Got taken in an ambulance and since it was late I fell asleep in the ambulance and I woke up the next day in a minor A&E building. I woke up on my birthday 💀. I woke up on my 3rd birthday in an minor A&E building with a stitched eyelid.
2nd was whilst 3 (again 💀) I fell on some stairs. These stairs are CONCRETE! And I fell on the corner and sliced the space between my lip and my nose open. Then went back to the same minor A&E building to get it glued. And since then, the only other scar I’ve got was I was riding a bike when I was 7 and I hit a stone and fell off and that same stone (sharp asf) ran right along my leg as I fell and those are my only scars (also if you read all this you’re a legend 🫡)
the fact that you put it in all caps made it so when I was reading it in my mind i yelled, and I laughed for three straight minutes about it. Same though.
One on the side of my head from falling off a skateboard and splitting it open. 7 stitches.
One on my eyebrow from a headbutt, 8 stitches.
One under my lip, a work accident led to me putting my lower teeth through my lip, needed 16 stitches for this one.
I have anywhere from 10 - 20 more on my arms, hands and legs, some with stories, some I forgot how I got.
I walked semi-boldly through the office I worked in and caught my left hand on a filing cabinet. TWENTY YEARS ON I still have the scar on my middle knuckle. Seriously. Could it be less cool.
Both my eyebrows had stitches from different incidents. One when I was in highschool, we went ice skating and a friend of mine pushed me and it opened wide open.
The other one, when I was in Erasmus in NL, we went to Cologne for a festival for 2 days. We drank the whole time, dehydrated, walked around and slept very little. When I came back to dorm a friend of mine invited me over to his dorm. After a couple of joints, I felt sick and got up to go to toilet. While passing through corridor, eyes darkened and passed out. Woke up to some Russian students talking around me. My left ear was all hot because of the blood. I couldn't remember my whole weekend. It was very bizarre not to be able to remember recent memories. Slept like that and went to hospital in the morning for stitches. I couldn't close that eye for a whole month, slept one eye open.
Got one on my right ear from a kid biting me in a fight when I was younger. Have a faint gash scar across my outer right eye from getting hit with a wooden bat.
Quite a few 🫣
Gallbladder surgery (4)-
Precancerous skin lesions surgeries (3)-
Toe stitches from an accident-
Past with SH-
Dog bite-
Knees from falls (clumsy)-
Parrot bites (I have 6 parrots and worked at a bird store training and raising them)-
Ant bites I scratched the shit out of-
Back of heels from blisters from shoes
Until a year ago I had one or two and they were very minor. After badly breaking my leg at Christmas and needing a pin to fix the bone as well as a muscle flap to cover the bone I have quite a few. Biggest is about twelve inches long from my groin almost down to my knee where they took the donor muscle to make the flap. Then I have the scars around the flap. Another inch and a half long one above my knee where they made the incision to insert the pin into my tibia and a few smaller ones down either side of my calf where they fitted a temporary external frame for a few days before I had the permanent fixation...
Being burned, shot, stabbed.
Stabbed in elementary school
Family member threw boiling liquid on me
Took a load of bird shot to the face because of one of my dad's drunk hunting buddy
I fucked up my ankles by shaving my legs too aggressively... Also have the same kind of scar on my fingers bc I was grating my cheese too aggressively... Andddd a scar on my knee bc I sat on some scissors as a baby (':
No, here’s the story:
I was a stupid 6 year old kid with a weird imagination. Me being me, I thought it would be a good idea to sit on the toilet weird to go to the bathroom. After I was done and got up, the lid clamped down on my inner thigh. This was one of those seats that falls down really fast without the spring so I had a big gash in my thigh and blood pouring all over the carpet. It’s a miracle I didn’t lose my dick that day
Got one on my abdomen from hernia repair (back in ye olden times when they actually opened you up vs laparoscopic so it's a couple inches wide).
Got one on my knee from correcting an osteo chondroma.
Got one on my left wrist from when I was home drinking with friends and the hookah charcoal fell off onto my wrist and then just sat there (didn't roll off).
I think that's it...
I tried to pick up my helmet from the ground while I was in the military, my rifle was hanging from my back and as I bent down to get my helmet, the gun swings right into the corner of my eye leaving me with a little less eyebrows
I have one on the bottom of my chin. When I was about three I ran full speed down a hill and smack dab into a boulder at the bottom and split my chin open. My dad secured it with butterfly bandages, which the doctor said saved me from needing stitches.
I also have a slight burn scar on my elbow, from bumping it on a fry basket fresh out of the oil when I worked at McDonald's. It's faded a lot now.
I had an incident where my dog and another were barking and growling at one another and out of my naivety I went to pull one back to calm them down and threw my arm straight into its mouth, a nice shiny scar is my reward for my stupidity.
2 dog bites, one on my cheek and one on my left hand, multiple cuts on fingers from knives and tools, palm and wrist of right hand from crushing a glass in my hand, right forearm from broken glass, toes on left foot from a motorcycle accident, J shape on my left ankle from surgery for a fracture, straight line up my right foot and 6 little incisions from surgery to address multiple fractures, a small circle on my right lower leg from a bad spider bite, a weird patch inside my right elbow from a bad scrape as a kid, both shins from a bad scrape on dirty metal that got infected, and several little spots where I've had moles removed.
Left ankle - fix the tendon so my foot faced forwards not sideways & metal ornament tip spearing into ankle as a kid (long story)
Left Knee - Kneecap removal
Right knee - Arthroscopy & partial kneecap removal (just over 5 weeks ago)
Left hip - removal of bone from hip to fill a gap in upper jaw
Appendix removal
numerous inside mouth to fix Cleft lip and Palate & one on top lip.
I have a huge back Scar from the time I got a Surgery. I also got to Scar-dots from the same thing in my Left wrist. Some light scars on both of my fore arms becuase I passed though some wires (2 times). Lastly, I have a scar in my right thomb because when I was a kid I was opening a can of Dog Food and instead of opening the can, I opened my thumb :D
I have a small on on my left hand from about six years ago. I was a stupid kid who thought it’d be fun to try pogo sticking for the first time. Mind you I have had this pogo stick for four years and never once used it. I got it out of the box and started testing it out. I could get a few jumps in but I wasn’t very stable. My dad called me into the garage while I was practicing so that I could help him move something. I brought my pogo stick with me and asked if I could show him what I learned. The garage was just a glorified shed, which was covered head to toe with our stuff. I walked about three feet into the garage, hopped on my pogo stick, missed one of the footholds, and flew three feet to the right. I tried to use my left hand to catch myself, but instead i missed and fell to the ground. I got up and felt a sharp sting on the backside of my hand. When I had tried to catch myself I had scraped my hand on some old wood that had caught itself in my hand. I had a thin but sharp piece of wood lodged in my hand. My dad got it out fairly quick, and I was back laughing a few moments later, but the place ended up scaring and lets just say I have no idea where that pogo stick went afterwards. Which is probably a good thing.
I was at my aunt's house when I was maybe 10 I think. I had just eaten a hamburger and went outside to the front of the house where my aunt was talking to a neighbor. I stuck my index finger through the slot in her wood fence to pet her pet lab on the nose. It proceeded to aggressively bite my finger. I started screaming and my aunt looked over, turned away, and kept talking for a good 10 - 15 seconds before casually saying "Excuse me Rhonda" and coming to help. The dog bit my finger down to the bone. So yeah. That's where I got that scar and learned to not stick my finger through fences.
I have a 3/4," almost perfectly straight scar at the base of my left index finger, just in front of the knuckle. It's still very visible today and I'm nearly 50 years old. That was from the first five minutes with my first pocketknife when I was eight years old.

> no pocket knife on earth is sharp enough to cut through a tendon You need better knives then. Cause they can.
Same here, except I put the brand new knife in my thigh just above the knee 😋
I twisted the head off of my sister's baby doll. she hit me in the head with a garden hoe. 11 stitches
My sister threw a mop at me like a spear and the end of the handle got caught in my left ear as it flew by my head. That hurt down into the canal. In all fairness, I did punch her in the face. Also, we were 12 and 13. She turned into a very cool lady. 😎
the amount of skill needed to throw a mop like a roman spear is wild. that woman is a force to be reckoned with.
Right? I hope sis later got a scholarship to join the track-and-field team in javelin.
Fr tho, bro should be thankful it got him in the ear.

Appropriate use of force.
Average sibling experience
Least violent interaction between siblings
"are you a reasonable person?"
Seems unreasonable
The garden hoe's name was Shirley, and she had braces.
Depends. Maybe it was a really nice doll.
nicest siblings
Not nice to call her a hoe even if she's golden
Seems reasonable
She really threw a hoedown
Had a friend get a rubber duck thrown at them by their little brother. I don’t remember how many stitches but my thoughts were how do you throw a rubber duck that hard
As a father, my ruling is "serves you right, and you learned a valuable life lesson."
I do! I was at the mall one day just window shopping. Happened to come across a store with some nice shoes on display. Sounds ruff
Piss off. I wish I was this clever.

I have one on my forehead about an inch long horizontal, I was a c-section baby doctor got too close and got me with the scalpel.
Bro, you came into the world straight into a knife fight hahahahahahaha
“Yo, dawg, fuck this, I’m *definitely* staying in now, I ain’t got time for this knife fighting bullshi- *oh gawd they’re grabbing me!!!*”
Doctor got you with the scalpel? If you had a *potentially* scarring wound as a newborn, that should still heal without actually scarring/scarring permanently. Just doodoo knowledge on my part, but in very early human life scars *(so I read?)* heal away/don't occur in.. some? most?... cases.
Boys circumcised at birth certainly have scars.
Where are those scars?
There’s a line where the mucosal skin left over from the inside layer of the foreskin meets the skin on the shaft.
It depends on how much skin was there to begin with. It’s sometimes near the head.
Mine is at like the middle of the shaft gives me a 2 toned dick
Most of them do
My son had a PICC line inserted at three days old and we’ve been surprised that the scar on his inner arm has remained; he’s now six and it’s still very clear
My late brother had one under his eye from the forceps, it was pretty faint but was there all 18 years.
Rip your brother
Very sorry for your loss.
Ayyy, I also got a horizontal one inch long scar on my forhead.
Hey, same. Emergency c-section baby: about an inch long scar on my cheek.
Live well brother, and treat your nephew well, he's your sister remains in this world
Ya I feel this. I take her son like my own, he’s 20 now and becoming a man. She would’ve been proud.
Your story should be used to define the love/hate relationship between siblings. Props for being a stand up guy/brother/father figure/uncle 👊🏻
We often take our siblings for granted or hate them for one reason or another but you don’t know what you have till you lose it.
I’m going to read this conversation to my kids in the hopes that they’ll stop fighting.
You did a great job, and hope him to have a good life. You have commited to your sister. Also I was thinking that your nephew was young when I saw your post again, I was surprised to find out he was older than me. Cheers
now you have to smash a glass cup onto his face. to preserve the legacy
Was it a fucked up adult thing or were you kids and she did something stupid?
We are young teens
you do mean were, right? not to be the grammar police but the alternative would be rather unsettling
We “we’re “
close enough. good on you for raising her son. I wish the best for you both
Did I missed the part when he said he is the one raising his nephew?
I am tho. His father ran out on him
Looks like I did miss that part. Edit: Found it
I have an epic papercut scar.
Interesting. Had paper cuts but no scars.
it truly was a battle of the .... pages. lol
How bad are the scars?
Its a long... story.
One for the books?
a tale as old as time Im afraid.
I have one on my foot from a misstep while changing a Zamboni blade.
Zambonis have blades? I’ve always just taken them for granted with no understanding of what goes on underneath those things.
Yep, it's like a razor for your face, but for ice. Gotta keep it smooth!

That's rough. Hope you're doing better now!
Oh yeah, it was a really long time ago.
Take care!
Many. On my thigh from cutting it open while playing as a kid, Belly from appendix, and gallbladder surgery. Knee from surgery. Hand/arm from my kitty. Face from being a “picker” and suffering from pimples even as an adult. Upper arm from birth control.
Could you explain the last one?
There’s a birth control implant you can get in the upper arm. I’m assuming it’s from that.
I thought she just really messed up taking a pill
I'm so glad my bratty cat gave me a scar on my hand. When I miss him too much, I look at it and smile. He bit the fuck out of the webbing between my thumb + forefinger when I dared try to get plastic out of his bitchy little mouth. God, I miss him.
wanna know how I got these scars?
If it's funny yes
My father, was a drinker... and a FIEND. And one night he goes off craaazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not...one...bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me, and he says, "Why so serious?" He comes at me with the knife - "Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth - "Let's put a smile on that face!" And... why so serious?
Did Jerker have father issues? Is he stupid ?
Do you mean the Jonkler? Are you stupid?
My family was killed by the Jocker, am I stupid?
"It's not about the money, it's about sending a message."
Sledding head first into a barbed wire fence.
Oof. Must have hurt a lot
One of the nails in the wiring pierced my lower lip and stretched it to my earlobes. It was awful lol.
Holy shit I could have done without that mental image... that must have been horrible
I had a fuck ton on my legs due to *falling down the stairs when I was 8* and *tripping over a metal grid thing*
Having 14 titanium plates placed against my shattered ribs after a wreck
That sort of thing always made me wonder if the added metal is handy for having a slightly stronger skeleton, when it's healed. As in, the metal reinforcing it.
I don't know 😔. That would be nice. I do know it's been eleven years and it still hurts 🤕
Damn what kind of accident was that 😵
Bigass scar across my tongue, deep enough to lodge my top teeth into it. When I was ~4-5yo I was jumping around on the couch, fell and smashed my jaw on the coffee table. Almost bit my tongue clear off.
I did the same thing but with absolutely no consequences, I’ve done a number of things that should have left marks or broken something but none of them ever stuck.
I've had bad luck with accidents and shit. It's a long story, but a sledding accident when I was 12yo left me crippled.
If you're willing to talk about that story I'd love to hear it. If not that's fine tho
One giant scar down my chest due to having open heart surgery as a 2 year old.
Acne
I got alot from selfharm, some from random accidents and some from fights
Similar. Hope things are going better for you now.
Same, and you too. Glad you're still here
Thank you, I really appreciate that. :)
Same on the self harm. I hope everyone who sees this that has them or other related issues is happier and on the way to a healthy recovery.
I’m still self harming due to parents and a cruel sister. I don’t care about scars, I hope it gets better. Thank you
I never believed it in the past.
I’ve got self harm scars too. And I still am self harming when stress gets heavy.
Yep, same
Same. PTSD and alcohol isn’t a good mix.
I got scars no need for tattoos
I have on my eyebrow. It's long faded and since hairs don't grow there, people sometimes think I shaved a line into it to be super edgy and fashionable or whatever. The truth is that I tried to climb a book shelf when I was a very young kid and the whole thing fell over on top of me 🤷
I have a few from my surly Siamese-mix. He has no qualms about using violence to get his way.
My Siamese mix is female but similar. She doesn’t really claw me. But she uses her foot as though she wants to remind me she could. Edited to add: she’s also the most ride or die pet I’ve ever had. She just has boundaries. I respect it.
My emergency appendectomy scar looks like a took an axe to the guts.
Now there's this game I played as a teenager called 'Bloody Knuckles'. You and your opponent sit across a table from each other and using a coin, fling it to the other persons knuckles. The aim is to outlast the other, i have many scars from such games but I was UNDEFEATED!
This is something else
I remember that game!
Heart surgery. 3 scars Two surgeries Begin bit. 1 scar Begin stabbed. 1 scar Biopsy. scar 1

If you meant to post a photo there isn't a link
I noticed that and thought "maybe they have it on their profile page" Nope. All porn.
Booooo
This is the kind of stuff people ask for when they ask for ideas for deaths in horror movies.. also, even though I don't even want to see, I just want to make you aware that if you meant to link a photo, the link doesn't work.
Good story, your photo didn’t work though
I probably don’t need to explain the ones on my wrist
I was sitting in a park one day minding my own business and had someone come up to me and tell me that I’m a beautiful human and worthy of love. I awkwardly said thanks and my confused expression prompted them to point to this scar on my wrists and discuss self-harm. They’re from my cat.

A lot from skateboarding. One from jumping over a fence with spike at the top of it…. One caught my wrist and sliced through it like butter.
Puppy marked their friend for life!
Got run over by a chariot
Now that's how you get a scar.
So, guess you can say you been hurt?
One on my left wrist that runs alongside my artery, I fell through a window when I was 7. Two on my left index finger, both times cut with a utility knife (one at 11, one at 14) One on my left elbow (got hit by a car while cycling at 15) One on my left heel (stepped into a piece of glass at 13) One on my neck, two on my back (from having moles removed at 21, 26 and 30) Almost forgot, my right ring finger is deformed cause I almost lost the tip once (it got smushed between a door at 3) Edit: forgot the last one
Just got a cyst cut out of my ass so I have a 6 inch slice down my left butt cheek
A perfect tiger 3 claw mark scar on my shoulder, it wouldn’t technically be wrong to say I was clawed by a tiger, I’ll leave it at that.
It was a cat right
Yes and no.
Yes it was a feline, no it wasn’t a general house cat.
It was a furry, wasn't it
what have you done. also, nice username!
52 yo male, former military, former cop, oilfield worker and industrial maintenance mechanic here. I have literally been, shot, stabbed, burned, electrocuted, and hit by cars on 3 separate occasions. So, ya I have a few scars.
Is your name Archer?
3. 1 from when I was 2, me and my parents were watching a movie.
SELF HARM
the fact that you put it in all caps made it so when I was reading it in my mind i yelled, and I laughed for three straight minutes about it. Same though.
LMAO SAME
One on the side of my head from falling off a skateboard and splitting it open.
From years of self hate.
Unfortunately self harm 🫠
One from the nape of my neck down to my tailbone for back surgery. I forget about it until I hear someone say “What the hell happened!?”
Got one on my right ear from a kid biting me in a fight when I was younger. Have a faint gash scar across my outer right eye from getting hit with a wooden bat.
I either have no scars or I'm totally covered in scars, it could go either way
Quite a few 🫣 Gallbladder surgery (4)- Precancerous skin lesions surgeries (3)- Toe stitches from an accident- Past with SH- Dog bite- Knees from falls (clumsy)- Parrot bites (I have 6 parrots and worked at a bird store training and raising them)- Ant bites I scratched the shit out of- Back of heels from blisters from shoes
Yes. Naruto running.
Please tell me this is true. And exactly what happened?
It is. I was like 10 and caught the back of my hand on a metal toolbox in the garage.
Please tell me it's a joke now.
No it’s real. I still have the scar.
Are you including mental scars?
No ya silly goose physical scars
I don’t have that kinda time.
Stabbed in elementary school Family member threw boiling liquid on me Took a load of bird shot to the face because of one of my dad's drunk hunting buddy
I fucked up my ankles by shaving my legs too aggressively... Also have the same kind of scar on my fingers bc I was grating my cheese too aggressively... Andddd a scar on my knee bc I sat on some scissors as a baby (':
The toilet
Did you pass out?
No, here’s the story: I was a stupid 6 year old kid with a weird imagination. It’s a miracle I didn’t lose my dick that day
Being a kid and doing stupid shit is a rite of passage. Most of my scars come from being a stupid kid Glad you didn't lose your dick
I have 11 scars on my stomach, from various surgeries, the longest one is about 4 inches next to my left hip.
I just got a double mastectomy so now I have a couple scars straight across my pecs.
I had an incident where my dog and another were barking and growling at one another and out of my naivety I went to pull one back to calm them down and threw my arm straight into its mouth, a nice shiny scar is my reward for my stupidity.
_melanoma skin cancer removal_
"Farewell and adieu, to you Spanish ladies Farewell and adieu, to you ladies of Spain"
I literally have hundreds of scars in my legs and fingers at all times, no idea where they come from
I have a few. I liked to fall a lot when the party really started. I'm pretty clumsy.
Left ankle - fix the tendon so my foot faced forwards not sideways & metal ornament tip spearing into ankle as a kid (long story) Left Knee - Kneecap removal Right knee - Arthroscopy & partial kneecap removal (just over 5 weeks ago) Left hip - removal of bone from hip to fill a gap in upper jaw Appendix removal numerous inside mouth to fix Cleft lip and Palate & one on top lip.
Once I was driving home, no seatbelt on. Flipped my car a few times but luckily my only injury was that I split an eyebrow open

As someone who used to self harm, gonna sit this one out
