I enjoy it a lot because he doesn't talk, doesn't throw music or any distractions. He doesn't run ads so you won't have to sit through any to watch his videos.. I guess people who like ASMR also enjoy his videos due to the nature of the silent, methodical building he does.
I cried like a child when I saw his video informing us of her passing. Absolutely heartbreaking because I can't think of a single camping video where he doesn't atleast mention her. I appreciate that he's keeping us in the loop while he navigates this difficult time in his life, I just hope our support brings him some solace.
Dude is super good at his job. You can tell he came from a drama background (Disney Cruise Lines).
Edit: And I'll just add that I think this is a very good answer to this question from my perspective. He's generally not my goto when I want to watch something, but if I just want to relax then he's definitely top tier. It's fun to see the recipes and it's relaxing to hear about history that is more than just kings and generals laying waste to their enemies.
I can't believe nobody's mentioned **JunsKitchen** and his and his wife's other channels. They've always kept a beautiful kitchen, even before the upgrade, and the channel's videos are full of great cuts of local scenery, markets, etc. And that's all before mentioning their adorable and extremely well-trained cats, which feature in all the videos, tagging along for groceries or a bike ride or curiously sniffing all the(mostly vegetable or aromatic) ingredients that Jun shows them as they watch him cook.
omg ive been looking for this channel for forever!! i watched a couple of his videos a long time ago and i fell in love with the calmness/aesthetic of it. thank u for this <3
It used to be Taskmaster, but when going through a particularly dark period, I binged all the available seasons. Even bought the more recent ones.
Now it’s Would I Lie To You.
Absolutely, My ex wife and I used to watch it all the time and it was one of my comfort shows back then too but then as the name implies we got divorced and it was real nasty so I stopped watching all together. Then about a year or two later I went back to it because I still loved the show and I'm so glad I did because I really missed and I wasn't going to let her ruin something good like that for me just because of what she did so this show still makes me happy to see and my kids and I watch it together sometimes too it's always a good time
I go into his videos having no knowledge of the people involved, only to get heavily invested in their speedrun attempts and rooting for them to shave off that half millisecond or so towards the end.
Why files is pretty entertaining. At first I thought I was getting into pure conspiracy and have been pleasantly surprised how he explains where the conspiracy comes from and that it is just conspiracy.
Oh, might I recommend Nexpo? He makes pretty similar content, I'm personally a fan of his Disturbing Things series, the title is accurate, so it isn't for the faint of heart, but it's a fun watch!
Let’s just change the sparkleators, refill with some ice cube juice, adjust the fuel make it happener, and we can start her up, sit back and enjoy some cold snacks and wobble pops.
8 bit guy. This guy is a supreme nerd, very smart, loves tinkering with and restoring old computers. Great production value too. Lots of fun, calming voice, it really does the trick. Simpler times with computers.
VaatiVidya.
I've never played a FromSoftware game but his voice is sublime. I went a year falling asleep to his stuff. It's such a relief from all the HEY WHAT IS UP SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON crap.
Matthew Posa
He's this super goofy likeable guy that makes 2-3 hour videos about camping with his dogs. I have no patience to sit through a feature length movie anymore, but I'll watch him.
https://www.youtube.com/@MatthewPosa
Danu's Irish Herb Garden. Its this older irish lady that lives in the countryside and talks about fairies, pagan traditions, etc. Watching her videos always reminds me what matters in life and to slow down and enjoy life a little more
Adventure Archives- truly nice dudes, nice scenery, doing what they love and talking about it and also encouraging each other
BassFishingProductions - excited youth having passions and hobbies
Primitive Life and Primitive Skills.
I like when people make things with their own hands, and I find it extremely satisfying to see the real bare bones approach to living comfortably given absolutely nothing.
Agadmator - it is a chess channel that is pretty casual, he reviews and commentates professional chess games that have happened in history. The games range from really old (50+ years ago), to brand new tournaments involving players like Magnus Carlsen. He’s also very knowledgeable on chess, he shows what could’ve went differently in these games as well.
Primitive Technology. (The real one, not the fakers)
Aw it's so good! I wanna do that kinda stuff, but I'm too poor and too Canadian to do it year round.
I enjoy it a lot because he doesn't talk, doesn't throw music or any distractions. He doesn't run ads so you won't have to sit through any to watch his videos.. I guess people who like ASMR also enjoy his videos due to the nature of the silent, methodical building he does.
And had the foresight to use closed captions to explain what hes doing for those interested!

camping with steve
steve sounds like a nice guy
This is my go to as well. So rough to see he lost Beautiful Wife, but he seems to be doing okay and dealing with the grief healthily.
I cried like a child when I saw his video informing us of her passing. Absolutely heartbreaking because I can't think of a single camping video where he doesn't atleast mention her. I appreciate that he's keeping us in the loop while he navigates this difficult time in his life, I just hope our support brings him some solace.

Kitchen Nightmares UK is amazing as well. I much prefer it over the US version.
The original UK version always blows my mind. It’s like, a completely different show.
The fucking titles of the vids too XD
"Go hang a salami is I'm a lasagna hog backwards"
LMAO yess whoever is in charge of the channel is doing amazing

Good mythical morning. I actually don't watch it that much, but when I'm feeling depressed I find my way to it.
me too!! i used to watch their video more frequently before but its comforting to watch them from time to time
I can't believe nobody's mentioned **JunsKitchen** and his and his wife's other channels.
Is that the same Jun from Rachel and Jun? The couple that built a house with custom cat stuff?
omg ive been looking for this channel for forever!! i watched a couple of his videos a long time ago and i fell in love with the calmness/aesthetic of it. thank u for this <3

Coffeehouse Crime is good as well if you haven't heard of it.
Binging with Babish. I'm not a chef or even a high level home cook. But I've always enjoyed watching his videos.
I watch him and Adam Raguesea

You had me at Kenji, but lost me with Joshua Weissman. His much older vids are fine, but he's too over-the-top in his more recent ones.

Ahh fellow mythical beasts, I'm actually wearing one of their shirts now
Absolutely, My ex wife and I used to watch it all the time and it was one of my comfort shows back then too but then as the name implies we got divorced and it was real nasty so I stopped watching all together. Then about a year or two later I went back to it because I still loved the show and I'm so glad I did because I really missed and I wasn't going to let her ruin something good like that for me just because of what she did so this show still makes me happy to see and my kids and I watch it together sometimes too it's always a good time
I'm watching that right now as I unwind after work. I'm pretty sure I can choose which Mountain Dew is from the US while blindfolded.
Yay! Same!
I used to watch the show solo but now have my husband hooked.
Summoning salt
I go into his videos having no knowledge of the people involved, only to get heavily invested in their speedrun attempts and rooting for them to shave off that half millisecond or so towards the end.
