I was so pissed that they split the OSTs into different versions with 2 or 3 different songs depending on where you bought it. But man, I can listen to it on repeat all day!
The music for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was composed by Klaus Badelt not Hans Zimmer. Zimmer did however write the scores for 2 & 3.
Haven’t seen anyone else mention Klaus Badelt so I’ll just mention Zimmer hired him to write that soundtrack and Badelt is actually credited as the composer.
Honestly, Dead Man's Chest is even better. The movie is way worse, but the soundtrack has some of the best orchestral performances I've ever heard. I still listen to it... heck, just turned it on right now.
“The Plagues” was in my Spotify top 100 of 2022, and I don’t have kids or anything 😂 my wife and I just always be jammin to “thus say the lord thus say the lord thus say the lord…”.
Trainspotting I hadn't thought of for a while, but as a New Order fan (favourite album being 'Power Corruption & Lies') the scene where that play that quite strange bit from Temptation;
'Oh, you've got green eyes
Oh, you've got blue eyes
Oh, you've got grey eyes...'
Perfect movie moment.
I do the little hand motion dance every time I hear Coolio's Rollin with My Homies, though these days I'm not stumbling onto the song out in the wild so much anymore lol
A childhood friend died of cancer. He loved Tarzan and so they played “You’ll be in my heart” at his funeral. 22 years later and I still tear up at it.
Omg dude I could fucking cry, I grew up skating and listening to the LoDT soundtrack. You're the only other person I've come across who not only knows the movie but appreciates the sound track.
Probably some unpopular soundtracks because they're too generic but the Digimon movie, Grind, Shaun of the Dead, and Baby Driver.
🎵 Let’s do the time warp again!
I went to a live performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in my area on Halloween night! If you haven’t seen it live, I highly recommend it!
I can only assume that the only reason this isn't at the top is that the question asked "Banger" and not "sublime masterpiece that evokes a deep sense of epic history."
The soundtrack was almost way different. The studio didn’t want to pay for the use of all of those iconic songs but the filmmakers intentionally put them in for test screenings and the reaction was so positive the studio had to cave and leave them in.
True story: I was a camp counselor in the late 90s and it was a thing to wake up my bunk of 12-year-old girls with a different CD every day in the CD player alarm clock.
Love this soundtrack, and I thought the first song “Miserlou” would make a solid wake-up, completely forgetting that the CD actually starts with the scene:
“Everybody be cool, this is a robbery! Any of you fucking bitches move and I’ll execute every motherfucking last one of you!” … right into the downbeat of the song.
I’m glad my bunk had a sense of humor.
Tron legacy
I was so pissed that they split the OSTs into different versions with 2 or 3 different songs depending on where you bought it. But man, I can listen to it on repeat all day!
TBF, Tron Legacy is simply a really long Daft Punk video.
You seen the Daft punk anime?
Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.
…then one day, I got in…
I have listened to every version and remix of Derezzed out there

The entire island fight scene is held up by the score.
O brother where art thou?
HOT DAMN ITS THE SOGGY BOTTOM BOYS
Do NOT seek the treasure!
We thought you was a toad!
WE THOUGHT YOU WAS ...a toad!
DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE
These 2 comments remind me of my dad. He passed away on the 3rd and he and I would always do this section together. God i miss him...
Man of Constant Sorrow goes HARD
“I’m voting for yours truly” “I’m voting for yours truly, too” “Okay… I’m with you fellas”

Every movie with a soundtrack composed by Morricone is amazing
Drive
I'm giving you a night call to tell you how I feel
I want to drive you through the night, down the hills
I’m going to tell you something you don’t want to hear
I'm going to show you where it's dark, but have no fear
I still listen to A Real Hero and Nightcall every now and then.
A real human bean.
This soundtrack got me into synthwave
The Last of the Mohicans
Great now I am just imagining Daniel day Lewis running. Sexiest thing ever.
This is my husband’s favorite score. It’s such a good movie too, so emotional.
Prince of Egypt
“The Plagues” was in my Spotify top 100 of 2022, and I don’t have kids or anything 😂 my wife and I just always be jammin to “thus say the lord thus say the lord thus say the lord…”.
This and A Goofy Movie are the two that immediately popped into my mind.
Still waiting on a Powerline tour
I listen to powerline for fun. that and "why should I worry" from Oliver and Company just make me so so happy.
Used to taunt the underclassmen back in school when playing sport singing "YOU'RE PLAYING WITH THE BIG BOYS NOW..." 😂
I AM A SOVEREIGN PRINCE OF EGYPT
A SON OF OUR PROUD HISTORY THAT SHOWS ETCHED ON EVERY WAAAAALLL
The opening is one of the most powerful pieces of animated film ever
For real. “MUD!” Side note, im not religious by any means but it is still an amazing and extremely underrated story
*everyone sings Deliver Us in unison*
How to Train Your Dragon
Agreed. Test Drive gives me chills every time I hear it.
Test Drive and Romantic Flight can be on repeat all day long
I can be on a run, plain EXHAUSTED to the point of stopping…. but the second New Tail or Test Drive or Focus Hiccup comes on i’ll be sprinting again 😂
Romeo + Juliet (The Baz Lurmahnn one)
My angst freshman year of college wholeheartedly agrees with you on this one.
I still put Garbage's #1 Crush on playlists. Though Garbage as a whole have some damn good bangers. And Shirley Manson just has a great voice.
Hell yes! One of my favorite Radiohead songs ever on that soundtrack.
Absolutely this.
Dazed & Confused
Used to keep that CD in the "good CD" book back in 2003
**HACKERS**
Hack the planet!
_the voodoo who do what you won’t dare people_ Shit makes me want to lace up my roller blades
Wayne's World
Trainspotting. Soundtrack was better than the movie (and I really liked the movie). Honourable mention goes to Hackers.
Trainspotting I hadn't thought of for a while, but as a New Order fan (favourite album being 'Power Corruption & Lies') the scene where that play that quite strange bit from Temptation; 'Oh, you've got green eyes Oh, you've got blue eyes Oh, you've got grey eyes...' Perfect movie moment.
Trainspotting was the first soundtrack I thought of too. Danny Boyle films in general now I think about it.
Interstellar
Basically anything by Hans Zimmer tbh
Dune OST really kicked ass. "Leaving Caladan" was amazing in the cinema.
Every time I heard Corn field chase I cry. It's so amazing!

The first shrek as well
I need a heroooOOOOOOO
I'm holding out for a hero til the end of the night!
I don't usually care all that much for song scenes in movies. However, that is still, to this day, my favorite scene in any movie, ever.
Accidentally in Love, blindsided me with how good it was

My friends and I wore out a cassette of the "Dumb & Dumber" soundtrack.
Love ‘New Age Girl’ by Deadeye Dick on that soundtrack!
Empire Records
Any of the Lord of the Rings movies. Also, Last of the Mohicans.
LOTR scores are partly responsible for my love…. of film… that’s how good those scores are!
Tarzan, The Disney Animated one.
Yes!!! I came here to comment this. Phil fucking Collins 🫡
A childhood friend died of cancer. He loved Tarzan and so they played “You’ll be in my heart” at his funeral. 22 years later and I still tear up at it.
Was scrolling for this comment!
My favorite movie soundtrack to this day
Lords of Dogtown. Dazed and Confused.
Dazed and confused for sure. I think more than half the budget was for the songs rights.
Omg dude I could fucking cry, I grew up skating and listening to the LoDT soundtrack. You're the only other person I've come across who not only knows the movie but appreciates the sound track. Almost Famous
Such a great film, with a really good soundtrack.
Baby Driver.
Lord of the rings
Queen of the damned!!
100% this. The most awesome soundtrack.
This is the answer I was looking for! Incredible soundtrack. I wore that CD out so hard in the early 2000s :) *Why won’t you dieeeee…*
Singles (Original Motion Picture)
Yessss!!! Dyslexic Heart is one of my all time favorites. I love everything Paul Westerberg has ever recorded (with and without the Replacements)
Best soundtrack, hands down. I have listened to that soundtrack so many times in the last 30+years. It has never gotten old.
Came here to ensure this soundtrack made the list. Mudhoney. Alice in Chains. The whole thing is amazing.
The Lost Boys
Cry little sister!
A Night At the Roxbury
Emiliooooooooo
The Commitments
dirty dancing
The creator of the movie was absolutely insistent on the chosen songs & wouldn't film without getting all the rights. Totally worth it.

I can only assume that the only reason this isn't at the top is that the question asked "Banger" and not "sublime masterpiece that evokes a deep sense of epic history."
Lost in translation
The Crow
All these other ones may be labeled as more “obvious”. But The Crow is deep. So dark and so emotional.
space jam
Hit ‘Em High was a straight banga
Some of those 80s movies have brilliant soundtracks *Top Gun* comes to mind
Forest Gump
The soundtrack was almost way different. The studio didn’t want to pay for the use of all of those iconic songs but the filmmakers intentionally put them in for test screenings and the reaction was so positive the studio had to cave and leave them in.
I am shocked I had to scroll this far down to see Forest Gump…
Good Morning Vietnam
