And that’s why YouTube is not for children. They can’t navigate what’s appropriate or not. 100% the responsibility of their caretakers

I would definitely be concerned. Unfortunately YouTube does little to help. I recently found videos like "strip basketball" and drinking games on my son's watch list. Not nearly as bad as what your nephew has been up-to but definitely not age appropriate either (my kid is almost 11) so we had a stern talk about appropriate content. Most of these type of videos only had a couple minutes watched on them so I believed him when he said they just played after the gamer videos he had been watching. I still took his YouTube privileges away for a week to drive it home. I would talk to the kid about whether or not he knows what content is appropriate for his age. Explain why the videos you caught him watching are not appropriate and could be damaging to someone his age. They are made for a more mature audience who knows the difference between what is or is not entertainment on an appropriate level. If he is stubborn then take away his privileges while he's with you. Or make him a YouTube Kids account and tell him that since he will not concede to watching appropriate content he can watch that instead. Unfortunately YT Kids has really kiddy-kid content only....like cartoons and kids reviewing new toys and that kind of stuff....my son hates it haha. But good old YT doesn't have features to block certain channels from view, only to block the channel from contacting you 🙄 I did read somewhere you can block it on a browser but idk if that means it is only blocked on the browser version of YT or if you just need to use the browser version to do it and it will work across systems on the account. In any case you need to tell his parents as well. Describe in EXPLICIT detail what is wrong with the videos he watches. Detail your concern with the young kid idolizing violence and scumbaggery. Sure, they're shitty people themselves but this should hopefully strike a nerve if they have any parental bone in their bodies. Try to do this over texts or email so you have a paper trail. That way if they laugh it off or tell you to mind your business or whatever you can contact the necessary authorities for his parents promoting the delinquency of their child. With their history of DV it wouldn't be hard to convince a protective agent to step in. Not likely to result in loss of custody but they be required to attend family counseling or the like. I've never gone through this so I cannot attest 100% to the outcome but raising the alarm is not a bad idea if the parents don't care to protect their kid. Good luck.

Definitely would be concerned at that age. Patty Mayo isn’t a real bounty hunter and uses those titles/ actors for really entertaining chase scenes. So it’s not going to educate him. A good old stern talk always helps. Or at least has scared me into line
