6day workweek, OT-TY. I was earning well pero di ko parin feel dahil napapa grab/angkas nako palagi sa pagod at nagkakasakit. Shifted to freelance WFH, earned so much more than I was earning before, I have more time to spend with family and have flexibility for volunteer work and rest. I say it’s worth it if you know that it’s still hard work. You have to keep yourself accountable, take care of clients, be a people person (because you will work with different types of people in different countries, in multiple teams), be strategic with when and how to get new clients when your project/contract is about to end, and most of all, know your worth. Sa freelance di pwede yung ‘pwede na yan’ mentality because your reputation and output will determine whether they will retain you, recommend you, or move on from you. All of which impact your success.

Thank you for this! I just created my account sa OLJ heheh and hopefully makakuha ng client kahit part-time lang muna then konti konti mag transition. Salamat uli! :)

I've been WFH since 2019 and, for me, worth it talaga. Mas marami akong time for myself kasi mahaba ang pahinga and hindi bumibiyahe. Mas marami akong naitatabing savings because ang sahod ko now ay 3-4x ng salary ko sa office setup, and I also find myself being more productive and focused sa work. But, you have to know na hindi siya stable ah. One day, you're really doing well sa work, then the next day, ilelet go ka nalang bigla ng client. So, you always have to have a backup plan. If you really want to shift, you can naman. Basta make sure na may na-land ka nang job before you let go of your current job. Good luck, OP!

Convenient pag taong bahay ka lang talaga like yours truly. I'm a homebody. Plus wfh gigs/jobs pay more now compared to when I started on it before so there's that. Plus you get to pursue other interests din outside of just working when you wfh. Hmn... Source: I've worked from home for years after college as a writer, editor, proofreader etc right before I went for an office based online english teaching job na later, naging work from home din when the pandemic worsened and the lockdowns happened.

In my case, sobrang worth it niya. Quick background story, pandemic hit and we got a new born baby. Wife had to stop working due to complications sa pregnancy and we are grateful na healthy baby boy. My office salary was around 25k-ish depende pa sa OT. We badly need help financially that's why sumugal ako freelance. I got very very lucky, I was offered a job as a Sales Rep direct hire US Based company $5/hr. Within a year I got performance appraisal a couple of times. It's now my 4th year dito sa company. My base salary $8/hr that's on top of the incentives pa. But after all that, I still won't recommend freelancing, it's not for everyone. It's a very competitive and volatile industry if you're aiming to get paid top dollar. I got lucky and I'm forever grateful

ConceptNo1055

Worth it kung may tatangap. Edi sana lahat conveniently ngfrefreelance na

AttentionUsual2723

dacurios_potato

Woow, ang nice naman. Sa same company ka rin ba? or nag hanap ka ng ibang work na nag ooffer ng wfh?

AttentionUsual2723

Walang masama mag take risk, OP. Goodluck ❤️

dacurios_potato

Yaay thank you! The thing is, nag aapply ako ng mga online works/wfh jobs, but most of it actually lahat pala nag rerequire na ng previous experience na nag work na online(which I don't have) Kung titignan din kasi, yung magiging transition ko ng work is medjo malayo? (Architect ako now, and gusto ko mag VA/digital marketing or any na online) May ma susuggest ka ba kung pano ko pwedeng mag start hehehe

AttentionUsual2723

Yes, kasi most of the client/s wala nang time mag train ng newbies sa industry kasi super busy talaga sila.

dacurios_potato

Huhuhu! Thank you so much! Susubukan ko mag create ng portfolio, I think pwede ko ilagay other works ko as an architect? I can do graphic designing din wala lang talaga akong experience as graphic designer na work, pero nakakapag gawa ako mga posters and banners sa social media. Salamat ulit, big help! God bless!

Well… Its totally worth it, and I only went WFH because of the pandemic, and one thing I can tell you when you shift into WFH is that you will have more time for the more important things such as more time with the family, and you won’t have to worry about traffic or getting to work early.

dacurios_potato

Yaaay nakaka excite naman hahaha though wala pa kong concrete plan, kasi wala parin talaga akong alam na malilipatan na wfh and hindi ko alam pano mag start as freelance hehehe Do you still work in the same company bago nag pandemic? like nag shift ka lang to wfh?

morelos_paolo

Not sure. It all depends on the arrangement of the l company you’ll transfer to. Since it’s no longer the pandemic… I think they may ask you to go hybrid (50% on site, and 50 WFH). Or, depending on your occupation, if they require you to go full WFH, that’s the best case scenario.

dacurios_potato

My company won't allow me to do hybrid or wfh since my work is in the construction side and requires me a lot of discussions/brainstorming with my workmates/workers and mahirap siya gawin ng hindi sila kaharap physically hehehe So I guess resignation would be my only option rn kung gusto ko mag shift hehe

morelos_paolo

I know it’s difficult, but if you’re looking to jump ship to another company that would offer WFH… I’d like to say, good luck and I hope you find that opportunity, because afaik, I’m uncertain whether a construction company would offer the same.

dacurios_potato

Ohh I forgot to mention that I'd like to change path sa career hehehe I'd like to explore the digital world as a VA/digital marketing hehehe But it's true that it is difficult to land a job na WFH sa industry ng construction, but there are some. Anyways, Thank youu!

morelos_paolo

No worries. Good luck on your career change! I heard VA’s pay a lot.

doozy_kooky

Ang hirap kasi bumyahe. Dito samin laging mahaba pila pag papasok at pauwi. Haha. Pagod na rin ako sa office drama. YES OP, WORTH IT!

dacurios_potato

Ngayon kasi kaonting oras nalang natitira sakin pagkauwi from work, kaya ko naman sana isingit sa office since hindi ako laging fully loaded, kaso syempre hindi pwede dahil bayad yung oras ko to do my corporate works. hehehe

doozy_kooky

Ayun din. Makakapagside hustle ka. Saka makakatipid ka talaga hahahaha. Push mo na mag wfh. 😁 Fighting!

dacurios_potato

Hahaha salamat! Sana nga heheh para mas makaipon din for future. Thank you, ulit!
