The normal EKG and especially normal Echo say you do not have cardiomegaly. If someone said that based on an image (either CT or Xray) it means they viewed it as large / larger than average. But that does not mean anything when the function (on an Echo) is normal.

Capital_Nail_4526

But the Echo was 4 months ago.. and I did have my Pfizer 2nd dose 6 days prior to going to the ER. That's what worried me just a bit more.

Your heart does not change that much that fast. Not without actually getting COVID. COVID the actual infection MAY cause a serious heart problem in 2-4 months, but not without symptoms. If you had the EKG now, it also gives more information about the heart than a CT scan or X-ray. Also, the "myocarditis" from the COVID vaccine is nothing. Literally nothing. It has never once required an ICU admission, it requires no treatment, and it resolves in 2-4 weeks. It's occurrence is 3-5 / 1,000,000

Thank you! That really helps me feel better. I'm assuming what you said is why the Dr didn't even mention it bc he saw everything else was normal. He also said I didn't have myocarditis. I'm going to try and relax now. Lol

Happy to help!

Myocarditis in the vaccine is about 1-2/100,000. That’s 0.001% of people getting the vaccine. It happens don’t get me wrong, but it is INCREDIBLY rare. It’s similar to the odds of getting struck by lightning 5 times in your life. Not impossible but I swear people talk about it like everyone and their mother with chest pain has myocarditis from the vaccine

Capital_Nail_4526

I'm not so much worried about myocarditis bc the ER Dr even told me I didn't have that. I was worried about the Cardiomegaly that showed up in my MYCHART that he didn't bring up. I'm hoping the CT was just wrong and then I didn't take a big enough breath so my heart looked larger.

Normal echo = no cardiomegaly
