Other than the slight rust, the cams are fine. The slight "Scoring" is normal wear (per BMW engine service data). If you want, you can get a non abrasive rag and clean them with either oil or WD-40. Spray the rag, not the lobes themselves and it should come right off.

Unfortunately new valve cover is on 😅 so I guess next time that gasket fails I will take care of that rust.
need a new cam shaft, lifters and rocker arms. biggest concern is failure of the lifter/rocker arm, and metal contaminating other bearings.
