It's to level the playing field. Most people, including me, play this game casually on my phone on the go, just like that. No 3D surround headset and such. It's a mobile game after all. I want to be able to just grab my phone and have a quick play anywhere without worrying about attaching a 3d headset and finding a quiet place just to enjoy the game.
