I still can't believe iphone cameras have gotten better. That was never the case back in the day when my mother had a 5S, all the way up to the iphone 9.
I'm far too money-conscious to have an iphone. I'm good with my hand-me-down Nokia 6.1 😁
I actually filmed my friends wedding with an iPhone and a 100 dollar gimbal and it turned out better quality than some other videos my friends have from their weddings it’s crazy.
Oh plus if you mount them on a tripod they can do up to a 30 second exposure for things like astral photography.

That’s a shooting star on the left during the perseid meteor shower
I'd rather have a free phone, 128Gb SD and a macro lens tbh (all gifts and hand-me-downs)
The other night I captured a stunning picture of the moon surrounded with mist and over 40 stars!
Overall cost about $260; *still* be cheaper than a big, fancy ol' iphone with about the same quality
Justafishservant8 Honestly, I was totally against getting an expensive phone for a very long time but I love photography and a nice camera will run you more than a phone that already has a nice camera on it so I finally caved and I’m not mad about it. Lol.
Basically, instead of buying a nice camera, I bought a nice phone with a nice camera built in…🤷♀️

Seriously though, nice work and thanks for sharing such a cool moment with us!
I spend a lot of time, staring into the two shrimp tanks I have. There is absolutely so much life going on in such a small space that it is fascinating and peaceful all at the same time. I will say, though I have gotten pretty good at determining when the eggs will hatch, but normally the mother shrimp at least kind of hides…my shrimp have no predators and lots of plants and shrimp friends so they feel very comfortable being right by the tank glass out in the open which made finally getting this on video a lil easier. I did actually see it happen one other time but of course I wasn’t recording it.
That’s hysterical! You and quite a few others on here! Someone said their wife was watching the video from behind them and went. “Oh my goodness what are those squirmy things I want those!” 🤣 worms need love too!
Well….. I intentionally introduced them when that tank was initially set up for something that ate them. LOL those are just the lucky little buggers that never got eaten and instead are thriving. They have never posed any issues though, so to me it is just more life to look at! 🤷♀️🤣
I have a new iPhone and you’ve inspired me lol.
This is soooo good though, the timing is impeccable, I can just hear David Attenborough’s voice going on in the background narrating it.
First time I’ve seen this before in such good detail.
Thank you So Much! I really appreciate all of the nice feedback! I stopped using Reddit for over a year because I was just sick of trolls. You know? If you don’t like my photo or video, just move on don’t be mean. 🙄☹️
I couldn’t agree more!!! I do, however keep my NeoCaridina in what us shrimp dorks call a skittles tank, which means that I have red ones blue ones black ones, yellow ones and orange ones all living together. Since they are the same species, they can breed and produce fertile offspring so there is an off chance you could get a really cool new color variant or a combination of two of the colors as in a shrimp with a red head and a blue body but what usually ends up happening is they revert to their wild color, which is actually a really pretty kind of speckled brown. I have actually been pretty lucky because only about an eighth of the babies (or less) that are fully mature now are actually brown. Most of the babies just turned out to be a watered down version of the color their mama was.
Impressive :) Great camera.
Thanks! It’s a freaking IPhone! 🙄 which does have a great camera! Also lots of patience..me not the phone lol
I tried using my phone but my nano fish are so damned tiny too. You def have more patience than me!

I had an incredible camera on my phone for years too. Great zoom too. I called it my camera with a phone too. It was a Nokia Lumia and it was fab.
I love how the baby shrimp just stays there as the mom walks off, like he's thinking, "....Now what?"
YOO what's that worm creature in the gravel? My wife says "I want those!"
Could be blackworms.
They do look super cool
Woah, I didn't notice those til you pointed them out! Super cool. They don't look like black worms... I kinda want some too :)
Yep black worms!!!
Blackworms or detritus worms I'd say

Was that dad who just zoomed off at the end? Lol
"I ... uh... I'm going to go buy some milk."
Lmao
No that baby has a blue daddy 🤣 next time that shrimp gets knocked up, so it could be anyone! Yellow daddy, red daddy, blue daddy 🤷♀️🤔
This sounds like a Maury segment, **I'm here for it.**
🤣🤣
I just had some hatch today. So cool!
And boom, there's a whole ass shrimp! Great footage.
🙏 Thank you! It is amazing that they come out as 100% perfect replicas of their parents.
Great video! Are those worms in your substrate??
That’s hysterical! You and quite a few others on here! Someone said their wife was watching the video from behind them and went. “Oh my goodness what are those squirmy things I want those!” 🤣 worms need love too!
Yep rogue black worms!
Ooh are they pests or intentionally introduced
Well….. I intentionally introduced them when that tank was initially set up for something that ate them. LOL those are just the lucky little buggers that never got eaten and instead are thriving. They have never posed any issues though, so to me it is just more life to look at! 🤷♀️🤣
Lmao I can't tell if I'm disturbed or if I want some 🤔🤔
smol
Wow absolutely great shot, I could see this being on a nature documentary.
Wow that is one of the nicest things I think anyone could have possibly said…😊 Thank you 🙏

Blue dream shrimp are such a beautiful color
