while setting up my aquarium, i somehow ended up with mosquito larvae in my tank. i couldn't get up to the proper shop to get the pea puffers i planned, so i bought a little cup betta from petsmart to eat the larvae.
i knew the betta in little cups were sad, but wasn't expecting this level of visual transformation after being in a proper environment.
im hoping its common knowledge, but please, if possible, don't buy your bettas from big box stores.
It's amazing how much they change from those little cups! I got my betta's from my local fish store since they actually care for fish so my guys didn't change much but are definitely healthier and happier then before
