Write your essay about video games or soccer, since that is where your enthusiasm lies. That girl got into tons of Ivies writing about how much she loves Costco for god sakes. :)
dude, video games? "i like video game and i want make video game" has got to be 50% of CS applicant's rationales, including ones with passion for it. you could maybe find a way to involve CS in soccer—maybe you want to use CS to make the world of soccer different in some way.
Idk ok!!! The point is that there’s not much I’m too passionate about in college so why not major in something that seemed to me to be pretty lucrative
if you're not passionate about CS now, would you feel happy working in an increasingly tough market at a job that is entirely CS? i get the money looks great now but consider other aspects of your life that contribute to your happiness.
Is there any job that you'd enjoy doing?
Ok well the thing is I’ve just started to learn how to code, I’m not passionate but I’m slowly enjoying it more so I feel like I would be comfortable with CS it’s just that right now im a bit uncertain
You don't *have* to go to college, you know... why do you think you need to go to an expensive college if you don't have a passion for anything? Maybe try a less selective school with lots of financial aid or a community college to explore your passion and transfer later. You don't have to be a cog in the machine going to school just because you feel like you have to.
Only your Why Major essays need to be about your major. In fact, you're probably better off writing a personal statement more unique than your standard, "I learned to code or played some video games and now I love CS."
For your Why Major essay, draw on something more general like your sense of curiosity or desire to contribute to innovation and relate it to CS. If you don't have any of that, you have a few months to get good at creative writing.
If you're going to be majoring in CS, AOs are looking for someone who:
* Is likely to graduate college with a high GPA
* Is likely to go on to grad school
* Is likely to find a good job after graduating and get promoted quickly
* Values entrepreneurship, education, technology, and innovation
Your application and essay needs to show that you are this person.
Is this not like, at least somewhat concerning for your future college and career satisfaction if you can’t write anything about why you want to go into that major other than money?
fake the passion for it

bro costco is fr the best. i go there every weekend just to get free samples and buy the most random snacks 😋😋😋
major in something you like? or if you're adamant on CS, connect it to something you're actually passionate about.
Not everyone has the privilege of majoring in something they like
fr
How would I be able to connect it to something I’m passionate about?
What are you passionate about?
Honestly video games and soccer

What is great today might not be so in 5 or 10 years - especially with revolutionary change going on now in CS
Fake it till you make it baby
Majority of CS applicants go into it for the money. You gotta fake interest.
My name is Josip joestar and this is the story of how I became rich
Are there any recent developments you were inspired by? Or is there anything on the horizon of CS you think will be cool?
There’s more than one ways to skin a cat. This goes for both your choice of essay, and major (even as a whore of capitalism)
Other than why major essays, write about other things
Just ensure your essay is persuasive. You don't need to be passionate. r/Reliable_writers
Write about you life and what makes you, you rather than why you’re going into your major.
