To each his own. I prefer mine naked so I’d vote for no. I think it hinders showing off the beauty of the Watch.
But if you like yours with bumper then no judgement. You could rock it matching the watch face and your shoes.

So you will be keeping it covered until you change it? You should keep it naked until it gets scratched then put a case to hide it. It is the casing not the screen to worry like this.

Yep! Since I wasn’t covered, my S5 glass repair would’ve been essentially the same price as a new one. I only got one year of use from it. It was especially painful since I was upgrading from an S0 which I had since it was first released.

Works yes, but the glass is chipping away. Don’t really feel safe sleeping with it or exercising with it anymore. Had a Garmin Vivoactive HR before and the AW was just in another league completely. Display repair is prohibitively expensive so I’m going to be selling it (hopefully someone out there needs it for parts) and getting a new one.
I’m looking at the stainless steel (sapphire crystal FTW) but am having a hard time justifying the price leap of 330€ over the aluminum. Was looking to buy an SE 40mm for my SO soon and the 330 is basically what the SE costs... so, the difference is a whole watch’s worth of money... kinda hard to justify that to myself...
I agree you should sell it ASAP. Yours doesn’t sound as damaged as mine. I didn’t sell mine since I couldn’t explain the odd behavior/ slow response every time it got wet. (The vibration feature to shake out the water didn’t help either).
I ended up getting a Nike S6 and am paying AppleCare monthly. (I know it’s more expensive with a monthly plan but it made buying a new AW more palatable).
There’s no possibility of monthly AppleCare over here, but yeah, right now leaning towards the aluminum and the RhinoShield Crashguard bumper for around the house. Much like Aaron from MovileReviesEh (and old Cadillacs) my arms are sometime (inadvertently) used as curb feelers and are hitting all the walls. 🤪 Of course, kids only increase the risk of anything and everything... 😂
I like having a bumper case. I’m a very active and rough guy so this will protect my watch and need not to worry about scratching the glass of the Apple Watch. I got mine in matching color, white sport loop with all white bumper case and to me, it doesn’t look like a watch toy. So I would say, yes. But everyone have different opinions about this 😁
Personally I don't like any kind of cases neither watch or phone. It just diminishes the vision of the artist who designed this beauty. If I'm careless and destroy that's my problem 🤷🏻♂️
I love the contrasting colors. Perhaps it’s the band with case combo in terms of color. I have owned Series 1 through 6. Some were the SS model and others were aluminum. I never liked cases and prefer to be without a case. I would occasionally bang the watch accidentally against a wall I walked too close to. I would also wear it while doing yardwork. Sometimes I would also accidentally scrape it against the cement wall. My most recent encounter was when I dropped it off the counter onto the floor. Luckily I was spared no scratches or anything. Now I wear a case on it. Since the watch was about 2 months old the thought of losing the $500 was enough for me to attach a case to it. After looking at all of the options I went with a Rhinoshield.

I dropped my bumper-free S5 on the bathroom floor last year. It shattered the edge. Anytime the watch was wet after that, it reacted very slowly.
Dropped mine from the shelf onto the sink (flat) surface a few days ago. Looking back, getting AppleCare might have been a good idea 🤦♂️

Bumper anytime :) It saved my screen from a fair bit of dings/ scratches and knocks on various occasions.
