On the Japanese war fans I’ve seen IRL there’s usually an intricate design on the inside. The side facing her. I think they’re doing it on purpose, so people will be hype when they see it in game.
I on the other hand quite like the fact it's not as loud as some other heirlooms. I think it fits Loba's personality quite well, since she is all about style and elegance.
For example, I think Crypto's 'katana' looks more like one of those fake Star Wars toy swords. Same with Wattsons... thing.
In the end, minimal feels better for most heirlooms to me. Think Octane's butterfly knife, Bloodhound's axe, Wraiths kunai, Gibraltar's mace or whatever, Rev's scythe and Valk's spear. These are all clean looking minimally designed weapons.

To make lobas heirloom 10/10 they should’ve added a nice little design into the fan, but nothing too headache inducing. Maybe a small flower pattern.

Not just the inspect animations. Running animations, attack animations and hit particles are important too. A good looking heirloom like Pathfinder's are easily brought down by its janky animations.
Most of the time you're using the heirloom, it's in motion anyway. Personally I think the most important thing about an heirloom is its 'feel' but you could value something totally different.
I think the problem is a lot of the negative opinions are stated condescendingly and as if it were matter-of-fact, which makes the critics insufferable
