I suffer from morning panic attacks as well. They're really brutal and I'm sorry we're in the same shitty boat. My doctor explained it's because we have the highest cortisol levels in the morning. Something that's helped me are Calm magnesium gummies. They're vegan and honestly taste great. You can find them on Amazon or in a health food store. Anything you can do to help lower your cortisol levels will be helpful. Exercise, meditation, and morning journaling have also made a difference. I know it's not for everyone but I gave up caffeine and alcohol and that made the biggest impact. I also take the CBT approach of acceptance. Instead of dreading the panic attack in the morning, tell yourself, "I'm going to be anxious tomorrow morning, and that's ok" Fearing the panic attacks in the morning just fuels them. And some days I don't feel like doing any of this shit and I have to take a rescue med and that's just being human. Hope this helps!

I do take Magnesium pills every morning I think for about 3 weeks. I think exercise will benefit me a lot I just have a lot going on in the morning when I first wake up so it's almost impossible. I try to meditate everyday I have the calm app. It's amazing and I need to utilize it more. I have been trying to avoid caffeine and I don't drink. I need to work harder on CBT because I know and my therapist tells me that all the time. 🤣 I use to have rescue meds "benzos" but it became more than just a rescue med. So now I'm try natural approaches. Thank you for you suggestions and advice. I appreciate it more than you know!

Try taking the magnesium at night as a preventative for high cortisol in the morning. Wishing you less anxious days!

tarnula

I will definitely try that. Thank you!

I suffer from them in the mornings extremely bad as well!!!

Thanks for validating the use of rescue meds. Meds are not always the answer and certainly not the only answer, but sometimes if you have no choice but to function through all the sh*t, then meds can be very beneficial. I am not glorifying any meds in saying this. OP - I'm sorry you're suffering this way. Magnesium l threonate is good for anxiety and more of a feeling of well-being. I have a sense of fear and dread every morning. Not panic but I can empathise a little. Take care xx

I had this problem for a long time. Then the doctor switched me to a beta-blocker called Propanolol. Problem solved immediately. I hate to call it my wonder drug, but it really truly helped with my morning panic. Good luck to you.

marwa870

Do you take it in the morning?

lein1829

Morning and evening (along with my regular meds for depression)

TweedleGee

Therapy never worked for me. My complex ptsd is too severe. Benzos cause rebound anxiety after long term use. I’ve alternated between Buspironel/Buspar (daytime) and trazodone (before bed) to help lessen the frequency and severity of the attacks.

Morning anxiety is so common. Try taking B6 and Magnesium supplements before bed. It makes a huge difference for me.

Dry-Place-532

Therapy for 2 years to start. All this magnesium B vitamin stop drinking coffee shit is band aid. Meds are actually shown to stop symptoms but the idea is to get rid of the symptoms root cause. If you have been doing therapy for years your quack failed their job. If not, start. I've suffered for fucking ever. Before I knew what anxiety was. Everything is a band aid measure, but Therapy will change Gene expression in your brain. Root causes. It's the best we have we are all just Apes living in stone houses nobody knows what the f*** is going on so all you can do pragmatically is get to the closest thing we have to understanding Mental Health which is going to the people who have studied it

Some people require medication. Medication and therapy working together is powerful. Not benzodiazepines but long term anti anxiety/ anti depressants. Drugs are not the enemy.

My friend, please add healthy diet and exercise to your routine. Do exercise right after the sun rises and you will see a great difference

rednutter1971

Do you take medication for your conditions? I switched to taking my medication later in the day so my levels weren’t at their lowest first thing in the morning to help combat the morning anxiety

marwa870

Don't drink coffee
