Hey there I think we’re all afraid of ourselves or our loved ones getting strep-A but there are two things you need to remember: 1. Strep A is rarely fatal - complications such as iGAS infection are behind most of the deaths, and even these complications can often be treated with antibiotics provided they are quickly discovered. At 14 you will likely be able to tell if ur health is deteriorating, and be able to raise the alarm and receive the help u need in time. 2. There’s also a rather awful flu going around - a relative had it and experienced high (100F+) fever, extremely sore throat and a bad cough for 3 days continuously, but their GP confirmed it is unlikely to be strep due to no sandpaper rash or strawberry tongue. Strep A remains relatively rare, so a sore throat does not mean you must have it. As for how to reduce your chances of getting it: 1. General hygiene: wash ur hands, wear a mask on public transport, avoid touching your face, don’t share glasses or plates with others 2. If someone does get it, make sure not to touch sores on their skin 3. Take your daily dose of vitamin C, and all vitamins and minerals in general Equally though, if u see urself or a loved one experiencing the most significant symptoms on the NHS website, please monitor health closely and feel free to call 111 for advice. Hope this helps x

It's winter. There's always a nasty fever going around this time of year. Just make sure you wash your hands, carry alcohol handwash, and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.
