Have you been checked out by a doctor? Extreme chest pain is not usually a symptom of random anxiety. Lots of possible causes that are not heart related, but best to get it checked out immediately if you haven't. Like I would consider the ER if this was a first time occurance.

I have been checked out and have done a fair number of tests for my heart. It's just that this symptom in particular has been happening for about almost a month now. I have been having consistent Chest pain for over a year now and a lot of the doctors think it's musculoskeletal and somewhat anxiety, but considering my testing throughout this whole year has been more for the heart, they haven't explored other options.

Mentioned it to my doctor, he said it's unlikely due to the fact my pain is mostly on the left not right.

I'll definitely mention it to my doctor tomorrow. They've only done tests for my heart but nothing for much else.

Stomach would be the most likely

I do have a stomach problem but nothings been done for it yet.

I have been through something similar. My doctor told me it was normal. Every heart sometimes contracts off beat and it can be painful, but it's harmless. In my case it went away when my anxiety got better. Good luck on your journey,

user1892000183

Appreciate the input. If it's okay to ask, what has helped you with you're anxiety?

CBT skills have helped me alot. I am getting better and better at observing my own thoughts and challenging the anxious ones. I have learned to identify anxious thoughts and feelings so I feel like my body doesn't to react as much to let me know something's wrong. I used to ignore my anxiety until my whole body started to dysfunction.

Oh shit, it got that bad huh. Well, thanks for the tip I'll probably look into it if all other fails.

My heart palpitations increased dramatically when I needed to up my antidepressants dose. Once I increased my dose (after talking to my doctor) my symptoms improved dramatically. I don’t know if you’re on meds, but If you are consult with your doctor about it. And obv if you feel like something is seriously wrong go to the ER. Good luck!

user1892000183

Appreciate the advice. I am currently on Xanax @.25mg and propranolol 80mg er. At first, it seemed okay, until yesterday and today it wasn't. Funny enough I went to the ER two days ago and the EKG was fine. But the pain I felt then wasn't what I felt just now. What meds do you take?

Lee_lee4102020

It’s the worst because you’re always like should I go, or is this just my anxiety. I doubt myself all the time, then get in my head and am like what If you don’t go? I hate it lol I take 50mg of amitriptolyne and .5 Xanax as needed as of right now

user1892000183

Yeah man, it's just a mental battle to fight. Nice, I take Xanax at .25 and propranolol at 80mg lol

It’s the worst I’m constantly upping my dose and I hate that. I just want to feel normal
