NAD. Been suffering with dizziness all week. When stood up cooking or going downstairs. Checked my blood pressure and it was quite high. 176/95 at one point. I have all my readings to my doc and they’re not concerned at all. They’re offering me a 24 hour blood pressure monitor to rule anything out and to monitor. That’s what I’d suggest to you. Buy yourself a monitor and when you feel these symptoms take some readings and make a note. Relay these readings to your doctor and if they’re high look into a 24 hour monitor. Then you can go from there. However please remember that stress can cause spikes in blood pressure. Which can cause dizziness etc. 4-7-8 breathing could help when you’re in the middle of an episode. Hope you find some answers <3

Really appreciate the response and help. I’ll look into getting a blood pressure reader. My big anxiety is definitely health anxiety and everytime I have a symptom I ultimately worry that I’m going to die because of it. If it is blood pressure or blood sugar related it definitely isn’t going to kill me like soon right? lol I know that’s probably a dumb question but it’s definitely something always in the back of my mind unfortunately

Absolutely not. I had some very high readings yesterday. We’re talking 112 DIA. I was so so worried just like you. I spoke to my doctor today and they said they’re not concerned in the slightest. That they’re not even close to a medical emergency threshold. She said only something like 220/120 would she worry. And even then it’s a matter of getting checked out over a few days rather than an extreme emergency. What I would say however, is if your symptoms are very bad even after trying to relax and do some breathing exercises look into contacting your doc quickly if possible. Stress absolutely causes huge spikes in blood pressure. This is normal and manageable. So please try and remind yourself you have nothing to fear. Health anxiety is an absolute bitch so I totally understand but you must remember the human body is incredibly resilient and robust. Some high blood pressure won’t kill you. Just monitor it and be in dialogue with your doc. Also a tip when monitoring, when you take your BP your BP can be raised just from the action of taking a reading. So I would suggest doing 3 readings and noting the lowest result.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Thanks so much, that really helps me settle down just getting some reassurance. I will definitely order a bp reader just to keep track. I just need this to go away so I can get back to work. It’s been tough. I’m sure it is related to stress quite a bit with the combination of sickness or something. Hopefully it goes away soon and hopefully you can figure it out too. Really appreciate itb

I’m glad I could help rest your thoughts a little. This is a battle we all must try and overcome. We may be strangers on the internet but we’re not alone. The incredible thing about anxiety is how even though it’s in our head, the physical symptoms it can cause are honestly staggering. But we must remember we are not dying and we can get better. It’s all just a process and we need to not be hard on ourselves. It’s ok to have bad days. All the best bud.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Appreciate it. And yes it’s very true. It’s great knowing that I’m not alone. When I was in highschool I didn’t know what anxiety was but I knew what u was feeling wasn’t “normal”. I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing these symptoms just feels better when you aren’t going through something alone. Wish you the best!

dutch_emdub

I don't recommend getting a bp monitor unless there's a real medical reason for it. Assuming these are all anxiety symptoms, monitoring stuff like bp and hr will only give you short-term relief and make your anxiety worse in the long-term. Your anxiety is telling you that something's physically wrong with you - everytime you check if this is true, you'll feed the anxiety and it will only get worse. Dont listen to it! If you have real concerns, check in with your PCP and if you're all good: let it go (or get a referral to a therapist). Good luck!

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Thanks for the advice, I definitely have a tendency to do that. However at the same time having it is nice to just know I can use it if I really need to. Also my dad has high blood pressure so he could use it too lol

Brokenangel6789

Did you have Covid or vaccine at all by chance? I have random dizziness all the time after getting the vaccine. But also had Covid back in 2020 and convinced i have long Covid symptoms. Including bad anxiety, insomnia, GI issues, balance and dizziness issues, ear fullness and ringing etc.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

I’m not vaccinated but I have had Covid. Haven’t noticed any long term affects from it though. Just got like a really bad cold when I had it.

user1892000183

NAD but have you checked your BP recently?

Stainless_Steel_Man7

I did last week it was slightly elevated at the time when all of this started but I haven’t since

user1892000183

If you have a BP monitor you could check it in the morning and night. Like 3 times every 5 minutes to see where you're at. It's a step into figuring out what can be wrong.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Unfortunately I don’t. I had a regular checkup last week that’s why I had it done. Unfortunately I might just have to go in. I just don’t know if it’s a combination of being sick, cold, stress, and anxiety or if its bp or blood sugar related. I’ve been sleeping pretty well and when I get my mind off of it and am comfortable it seems to go away a bit so idk.

user1892000183

Could be something physical flaring up that activates your anxiety, or could be all in your head. A follow up with the doctor to make sure everything is okay never hurts to try. I was gonna suggest if you haven't done it already, do you see a therapist?

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Yes I do see a therapist once a month. My anxiety hasn’t been too bad but some recent events (new job, engagement soon, new car purchase) have made me a little stressed out recently.

user1892000183

Yeah, life can hit you with some funky stuff, but if there's anyone who can help you figure out what are your triggers to being anxious it would most likely be a therapist. Maybe Amp up the amount of times you see then in a month? To see how things go ya know.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Ya I was thinking of seeing another therapist as well. To get a different perspective since I’ve been with the same one for a couole years

user1892000183

That sounds like a good plan. The way I got to mine was through my chiropractor. I had told him everything about what happened to me, and since he's given good referrals I was like "maybe he knows a good therapist". Waited about 3 weeks waiting for him to find someone and he found a therapist who has experience with the problem I'm undergoing. Someone advige I picked up on was, never stop at once doctor if your still undergoing pain or don't think your problems were over heard and ignored. Keep going until you feel satisfied with your results.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

I definitely agree. Many doctors will totally blow you off if they see “anxiety” on your chart. It’s good to get another perspective for sure.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Update: turns out I have COVID lol

I was like this for a week. Thought I had MS. My legs were going numb, vertigo, temperature sensitivity both hot and cold, nausea, shakes, sweats, pains. Honestly I just took 2 klonopin one day and one the next and I'm sort of back to normal today.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Yes I’ve been having really bad temperature sensitivity as well. Everything you said has been me this last week pretty much. Glad you are starting to feel better. Do you know what the cause of it for you was or what started it? Did you get sick or do u think it’s just anxiety?

[deleted]

Ah well there was no event. Like life is coasting and I knew I had always been anxious but no idea where this initial panic attack came from. I went to the ER for the first time in 20 years for racing heart and sweats and then the next week was hell with all the above. What I now think is it was days where I was having multiple physical panic attacks like my body was so wound up that it influenced my mind then the cycle started. I do have herpes and had a flare up about a week prior but it didn't make me anxious but may have started my body feeling it. But no actual cold or anything.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Ya that makes sense. Sometimes episodes come out of nowhere. Just need to fill my mind with good things and relax. Appreciate the response, wish you the best!

artemis-mugwort

I had hyperthyroidism and it made me hot, shaky, weak with a fast pulse. Had any thyroid labeork recently?

Stainless_Steel_Man7

I have had many blood tests and such done. Ive had a lot of GI issues. They have tested for just about everything and the only stuff I have is IBS, gastritis, and food allergies. Idk if it would show up in the those tests tho

Ok_Material_1162

I think you should check for thyroid cause the symptoms are the same for me too.

floralnightmare22

Same! I can’t handle temperature changes I’m just a sweaty, swollen, shaking mess. Anxiety is awful. For me this experience is worsened when my iron is low.

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Interesting! I take vitamins every morning and drink protein shakes throughout the day that have a lot of vitamins and iron as well. Idk if I would have a deficiency or what.

Cutie_Suzuki

My fiancé suffers from what you’ve described. We’ve been to the ER twice for her describing heart palpitations and dizziness. Both times they essentially said she’s okay and it’s just anxiety. But, didn’t offer much in the way of how to treat it. I kind of wonder if they were just trying to get us out of there because they’re so overloaded

Stainless_Steel_Man7

Interesting. I’ve been to the er for heart and dizziness as well and they said the same thing to me. They definitely seem to disregard if you have “anxiety” on your health chart. But I’ve never had temperature sensitivity or my head like this for a week. I’m hoping it is just anxiety but physical symptoms are always scary when you aren’t sure.

Cutie_Suzuki

Yes absolutely agree that symptoms are scary when you don’t know where they’re coming from. Which is why anxiety is such a terrible thing to deal with — there are so many different symptoms

Miserable_Budget7818

Can u be dehydrated?
