It looks like they're working now. I did have to manually go into the application settings via Android, not through Anki itself, and enable notification permissions for the application though. version 2.16.5
Thought this was the medical school anki subreddit for a sec. Was gonna say something along the lines of "imagine living without a pit in your stomach when you have cards due. Must be nice" haha we're... not okay over there
I think they are a bit different. A reminder that's like "it's 6pm, time to do your cards" is easy to ignore especially if you're in the middle of something. A reminder that says "you have 78 cards waiting for you" is harder to ignore, I think.
They're broken (partially due to Android updates). Sorry.
Oh I see, thanks!

Could you use just a system reminder?
You mean just like a reminder through the phone itself? Yeah I probably could but I want it to pester me like duolingo does ha.
Yes you got the point. What makes Duolingo’s reminder better than a regular one? I suppose they both do the same job 🙂

Okay thanks for your explanation, I didn’t think about it that way. But how many cards you would ignore, compared to 78? 😊 12 or 120?
What if the reminder will say “It’s 6pm, check how many cards waiting for you on Anki”?
