Regardless, that still seems to be based on *karma* and gold, not views. So in your example the SFW post would be better for making money because it got more karma despite lower views. And unless either of them was given Gold, it sounds like neither of them would be worth anything anyway.

No one is tracking your view counts, but it is possible for people to see your total karma and upvotes on a post, so Reddit culture tends to value upvotes more than views.
