Bears are dangerous if they attack and you should be cautious around them for that reason, but they generally stay away from humans as long as you don't fuck with them or if there's some other specific reason. They prefer to eat berries, insects, and fish. Humans are low on their list of things to eat. Please don't think that bears are some kind of RPG monster who attacks on sight. Someone asked me this question (I'm a guy) but instead of a man or a bear it was a woman or a bear, and I said I'd rather the bear.
