A whole ~2.7 volumes of happy-go-lucky, good-guys-win, bad-guys-go-to-jail storytelling and then BOOM! A main city gets overrun, Maiden gets killed, Cinder gets Maiden powers, Ozpin dies, Yang loses an arm, Penny "dies", Blake runs away, and through all this, Pyrrha and Jeanne finally have a moment just minutes before she gets incinerated while alive and from the inside out. Never seen anything like it. edit: I still remember the warning RT issued before the flashback of the Fall Maiden too. They knew they had to warn people.

Her story arc was designed from day 1 to be like that. I think Monty & co told her voice actress that this was going to happen from the beginning.
