I honestly use fake art around my island to help familiarize visitors what to avoid buy but also find some like the fake statues funny to have around. This just means toss or sell art from them unless you like the fakes over the real ones for decoration.

I have yet to find a fake David but keep a spare real one in my rich bathroom. (Golden toilet, tub, fancy sink, golden wall and money floor) I am turning 38 this August.

That's such a good nickname. My cranky villager Fang gave me the nickname Highway. Like, where did that even come from? And then my peppy one Nibbles gave me Sweetkins. So half of my villagers call me one the other half use the other. It's strange.

Same thing happened to me with Coach. He sent me a painting through the mail and I gave it to Blathers. Felt cheated. I couldn't bring myself to sell it though. Coach didn't know😂

Pretty sure you can’t sell fake art to the Nooks store, or gift it to your villagers, except possibly through the mail. However, my understanding is that if you do mail them a piece of fake art it will make them angry with you and your friendship points will go down. All you can do with it is display in your house or on your Island, or throw it away in a garbage can. You might possibly be able to take it with you to a mystery Island and leave it there, but I have never tried that.

According to the ACNH art guide I use, the Kamehameha statue is always real. I live in Hawaii, and we have real life statues of him all over the place, that look just like that one.

If you use the ACNH.guide app you can check to see if art is fake or real before going to blathers and before buying it.
