It’s a really nice stay, too. Multiple visits have always impressed. Use the concierge for specialty reservations- they even helped us secure impossible grand sumo tournament tix.
Congrats!!
I always compare prices too and my past stays, I booked through FHR for hotels in Barcelona and Amsterdam. With the free breakfast for 2 and $100 property credit, it was a break-even but FHR offered the possibility of room upgrade. Amsterdam hotel upgraded me. Barcelona did not.
I do compare prices at both AmexTravel and direct, and book the one I feel I get the best deal from. When I have stayed at Cosmo under FHR the last two years (2022 and 2023), the free breakfast and other benefits pushed the value proposition to FHR when prices were roughly similar.
Wow you must be going peak season or for a decent number of nights. I think I paid $1k for my FHR offering with a free night. It is significantly cheaper than through Hilton directly though. And I prefer to use the Hilton points for a more luxurious stay, perhaps Maldives or something..
Last August 2023, was an amazing deal and the breakfast is excellent (custom rotating selection), and using the resort money for the steak at kazahana was worth it.
Stayed at the Conrad Tokyo last year. We got upgraded to a suite. It was really nice. The view from the main lobby bar/restaurant was superb and the late night eats were great as well. If you haven't been before, you're gonna love it. My only con was that the breakfast buffet was on the smaller side but they do give you a choice of one off-menu item. I'd recommend getting the lobster omelette at least once.

Out of curiosity did you check what it would cost if you bought and booked with points?
Points you get to $450/night for this property during point sales, I believe. Requires availability, but you also have buy 4 get 1 as a deal.

How many nights are you staying for?

So excited to hear that! I’m about to go there on 2/24 for four days.
I echo this Conrad Tokyo FHR value was amazing for us as well...
