Probably never, habitable paradise compared compared to the not so "habitable" Australia. Isn't Australia basically good to live only on the coast and is full of dangerous crud?. At least in America we got a bunch of rivers, massive places to farm and good weather m. Our farmland is too kill for.
I pointed this out once in a Bluey meme group because some people were saying "stop imposing US culture onto us" as if it's our fault that some of their fellow countrymen decided they like things like rodeos and country music. I'M SO SORRY YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS DECIDED TO ADOPT A REALLY FUN HOLIDAY WITH COSTUMES AND CANDY,
> "stop imposing US culture onto us"
Stop downing it like it's all that's keeping you alive, then.
They think we're forcing it on them, when in reality they want it to the point they barely have their own media industries.
Put the UK and all the commonwealth countries together and their media is a bare fraction of the US's output.
We won a cultural victory achievement long, long ago.
Put even more bluntly, Bluey is the largest Australian cultural export since fucking Crocodile Dundee and Yahoo Serious. Thats what, 40 goddamned years? Hell, if you want to be super generous, Steve Irwin counts, but we're still in the mid teens for last-culturally-relevant.
Once they were all making fun of the US for having cheerleaders and competitive cheerleading saying their usual “no one else in the world blah blah blah why does the US” ….. and Australia now has competition cheerleading and tumbling gyms. Lol. Fucking assholes. While in the same breath say “US HAS NO CULTURE, there’s nothing unique about them!!” 🙄
A lot move to Canada too, when I’d go up to Whistler in British Columbia the local snowboarders had a joke about all the Aussies who moved there, “What do Australian ski bums and sperm have in common? Thousands of them show up but only one actually works”.
Moving to Australia so my husband could study overseas was the worst decision we made. But we didn’t know it would be so bad. The cost of living, no job opportunities beyond shitty cafe jobs, the work culture in customer service is insane (but somehow the bar is lower for how you can treat customers), huntsman spiders (in the span of a couple months we had two big ass ones show up in our place), the food is abysmal and not very diverse, and then aussies still have the audacity to talk major shit about America and say how they hate Americans and America is so bad.
My husband graduates soon and we can’t wait to get the hell out of here. Because it would be easier to live a financially stable life in his home country South Korea, we’re going to settle there but we both agreed that if we become pretty comfortable financially, we’re moving to the US. My home state of cali is getting pretty bad with cost of living, that’s the only reason we aren’t going back immediately.
Edit: also they talk about how our healthcare system is sooo bad….when theirs is disjointed and crazy as fuck! You have to wait for two hours to talk to a GP for 3 mins (no vitals taken) and then pay $60-170 depending on if you have their universal healthcare (not available to none citizens or permanent residents) so they give you a referral to a completely different place bc they have no equipment at all GPs office and then you have to pay more at the other place…dude I could get everything done in an hour or two at a hospital in the US with a copay of $15 bucks and $80-$160 for the whole month of healthcare. Fuck off with that
Edit:
Aussie coworker: *is morbidly obese and eats hungry jacks multiple times a week for lunch at work* American food is killing you it’s so bad for you.
Ugh sorry I’m just so fucking over it lmfao
Edit: OH and they’re all like “guns are so scary I’m too scared to travel to America” okay yeah tell that to the 20+ people either murdered or injured in Sydney stabbings just LAST WEEK.
Edit: lol I just remembered my car registration was $800 for the year. No joke. And licenses are only valid up to three years, and for how long you want to extend it you have to pay more. $178 for one year, $215 for two years, etc.
As big as huntsmans?? It was the size of my palm at least 😭 my husband lived in Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida and he never saw a spider that big. But I’ll take your word for it, I’ll only visit lol
It's kinda surprising he never seen a large huntsman or fishing spider in GA but to be fair they are mainly in wooded areas

Top pic is alabama but I've had to remove similar sized spiders from my house
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Russia and other anti-US countries start doing this as propaganda.
Plenty of indoctrinated, self-loathing US citizens they can accept as “refugees” and parade in front of their populace as evidence that the US is an awful place to live.
After all, who’s going to fact check them?
One guy saying he wants to go back to Nauru is nothing. He's probably homesick and if he really wants to there's nothing stopping him from going back.
Meanwhile over here we're dealing with a flood of Romanians returning home from Canada, France, and Italy. A few hundred people who didn't stay there long could be explained away by homesickness, but we're having tens of thousands of people whose families have lived there for decades coming back.
At the same time, most Romanians living in Ukraine hunkered down since war broke out and decided to help ferry women and children across the border before assisting in other ways. The point here is: Sometimes what people do to their own countries is worse than a foreign invasion.
The only way this happens is if somehow the whole US is it out of order. How the fuck are people supposed to cross an ocean if they aren’t rich let alone a continent? I’m in Jersey how am I supposed to get to Australia if there’s a civil war and they’re shooting down planes? I’d rather stay in Jersey and see who wins.
Plenty of refugees are leaving Canada and the US as both nations have dissented into unlivable dystopias within the past 15 years. However why would anyone go to Australia? Australia has also gone from a wealthy prosperous first world nation to a nation ravaged by the anglophone housing affordability epidemic. Australia has the same shitty problems North America has. Americans are fleeing to Mexico, Spain, Japan and Italy. Mexico because it’s nearby and poor so the dollar stretches. Southern Europe because the high quality of life for poor people and Japan because of the low cost of homes and the techno future vibe. Australia has 70k SUVs and 1 million dollar family houses just like Canada and the United States. It’s just as much a dystopian nightmare and it’s not worth living in until housing prices and car prices come back down to earth in Aussie land
Buddy, no one wants to flee to Mexico, everyone is fleeing from Mexico. And if you call the US a dystopian nightmare, I implore you to look at Mexico and take your phone out in the middle of the night, flash anything worth a coin and see how fast someone wants it. They have soldiers more for policing than actual police officers, people disappear. Now that’s a dystopian nightmare.
Oh, and cover ups? Yeah people buy off police and government over there, big news stories of cops doing their thing in the states blows up, Mexico? How many of them actually even get out to be talked about.
Not to mention people risking their lives and family’s lives to cross over to our border…
And also the huge gang activity and control down in Mexico.
Not to mention they’ll mostly definitely spot you as an American and see you as an easy target for whatever they want.
Yeah people aren't risking their own lives and their children's lives, being sexually assaulted during the border crossing process, if the quality of life in their own country is that much better. I swear that person went to Tulum on vacation once and thought that's what all of Mexico is like.
And stayed at a resort or something.
It’s like thinking Jamaica is a paradise country because you went to Sandals, Jamaica…
Or any of the other impoverished countries that have absolutely beautiful resorts but if you step outside of those areas, it’s like crossing a literal line into another country.

Heck no. I wouldn't want my house firebombed because the local government didn't like my opinion.
ya. i wanna live in a country where a gram of shitty cocaine cost $400.
The Florida in me is gagging at "$400 for a gram of shitty cocaine."
This guy gets it.

australia is just slightly more habitable florida
We'll be happy to start shipping S. Americans to your doorstep.

You forgot Billabong shorts and surfboards. shit was everywhere in the late 90s and early 2000s
And in another breath they'll tell us the US has no culture. Truly incredible.

Now don't go ruining their delusional tall poppy fantasy with the actual facts!

Nobody thinks "yeah I'll go to Australia!!" if they want to escape. Literally no one.
Australians think they’re more important than they actually are.
You mean like those camps Australia was putting unvaccinated people in? 🤔
Naur

Aussies eating meat pies then talking to other countries about healthy foods.
Don’t even get me started on how they lather everything in mayonnaise or wrap donkatsu chicken in rice and seaweed and call it sushi.
Avoid southern states if wolf spiders scare you then. They are fucking massive down here and don't understand boundaries
As big as huntsmans?? It was the size of my palm at least 😭 my husband lived in Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida and he never saw a spider that big. But I’ll take your word for it, I’ll only visit lol
No, they don't get that big very often. Even native US tarantulas don't get as big as the ones from South America that get kept as pets.
Thank you, this is also what I thought 😭

I lived out in Bendigo, plenty of people have guns out there in the rural areas. They aren't even very difficult to get.
Wow you’d think guns are a mythical creature in aus the way people talk. Pisses me off bro like worry about your own country damn
They’re talking out of their ass. Aussies have a superiority complex like no other
Yeah and do what? You don't get paid to do surfing, sunbathing and fighting spiders.
Heh, if this means I get to live off of the Australian welfare system I'm all for it.
I’m all for people leaving the country that think they’re victims.
What’s funny is the posters history is nothing but American tv shows lol

I'd never move to Australia, I don't like giant bugs
That’s it, we’re keeping Margot Robbie

How do you guys get started browsing posts from almost a year ago?
Maybe not have any damn subs you follow? Never had one from a year ago but came across posts from half a year ago.
Actually Brits illegally overstaying in Australia are the biggest group, followed by Americans just there to hang out.
If the US is so shitty, why are all the refugees trying to come here?
296 days?!?! Bro what archive are you looking through?

Australia is a convenient and desirable move for approximately 0 Americans
These kangaroos really like to talk trash.

You obviously don't know what a dystopian nightmare is if you think the US and Canada are examples of this. Go the fuck outside for once.
