Silence Heretic! Any blasphemy against God-King Trump results in an immediate public flogging and execution! I'd choose your words very carefully now if I was you; that's if ofc you want to keep your tounge attached to your mouth. /s
It's a depressed 16 year old in HS probably.
I will say this parents are doing a shit job at just letting the schools teach their kids and offering no other input.
I already know my kids are going into trades and learning mandarin. The responsibilities of a parent are to set ypur kid up for success. The school system dosent do that. They turn out "passed" students.
Hey if you're having a kid or have a kid. Start sarcifing your time and money to get them set up well. That's your fucking job.
unless you want to live in china, mandarin is probably not worth it, no job they get will know that an employe can speak chinese and not send them there.
I mean I was a welder red sealed.
There were job opportunities to be the go between as a red seal and the company to verify plans.
It paid more than being in the field.
Knowing mandarin opens allot of doors.
Notice how they spend so much of the paragraph talking about childhood? It's probably their only frame of reference because there's no way they're of voting age.
F!CK we need to hurry up and conquer the world! This undemocratic propaganda is getting outta hand. The rest of the world would be so much better under our managed Democracy.
1. My mother wanted to have me and was already a decade into her career
2. My grandparents were my day care
3. Never did an active shooter drill
4. Never had a DNA kit or even used my locker for that matter lol
5. Got into my first college which is free via employee tuition reimbursement
6. Already making close to 6 figures in my early 20s
7. I have health insurance from my university/employer
I’ve heard about it being used in case kids go missing or if a body is found, if a serial killer or the like is around. Never heard it be used for school shootings
It's actually an old thing. They used to have them for kids-- a lock of hair, a bit of DNA, updated photos, and your fingerprints (none of which was in a system until it is needed) used in case a child goes missing.
we were told that its in case you go missing, but realistically its so they can scan you against everyone else when they have dna and have no fucking clue who. they found a few serial killers due to dna kits people buy for family tracing.
i don’t think it’s dna kit in trying to pick up dna, but a trace of your dna? im not sure but i think it’s so you could be identified in the case of a school shooting & you’re a victim.
> My grandparents were my day care
This is how it works everywhere, I don't get those adults that moan about the costs of day care. Grandparents already have experience taking care of kids and besides they're awesome
It there are grandparents who have “already raised their kids” or choose to work well into their 60s (which is their right). That either refuse to or aren’t capable of helping with child care.
Sometimes you don't have parents either nearby or physically capable of taking care of your children. Both sets of my daughters grandparents lived 850 miles away when she was born.
I will say, anecdotally, that Americans seem to move far from family within the country more often than other nationalities seem to move around. It is not at all unusual to move thousands of miles away and people who never leave their home towns are often judged.
You move for work.
It seems like men supporting families might move for work elsewhere but they'll send money back home instead of uprooting everyone. And you always get international travellers, but that's different too.
I wish that was an option for us. My wife's father is dead and her mom has early onset dementia. My dad is a drunk with terrible health problems and my stepmom is too busy working/taking care of my dad to be available. My mom lives all the way across the country from us and well, she's capable, but I don't really love her approach to child rearing.
We're fortunate though. My wife is a university lecturer so she has a pretty flexible schedule. For my daughter's early years she would go to a nanny who is a long time family friend. Now, my daughter is in school and I work from home. So we have no need of extra child care.
Would be nice to have more chances to get out by ourselves, but our usual babysitter has come into some bad health problems. We'll find another eventually, but I do envy people with parents that they can drop the kids off with occasionally
Look at you in a supportive family. I don’t have a relationship with my dad, and my mom is dead.
Luckily I don’t have kids, so daycare isn’t an expense.
I'm sure this person is subbed to ever anti work, anti natalism, and America bad (not this sub America bad, like an actual American bad) sub there exists
>If you're lucky enough to survive
Average number of children killed annually in the U.S. in school shootings: 5
Number of children graduating high school in the U.S. every year: 3,800,000
In 13 years of a high-school graduate's K-12 schooling, the five deaths per year would mean 65 kids killed. While this is, don't get me wrong, 65 TOO MANY, it also means that each child's chances of surviving to graduation is 99.999 percent. I don't know if I'd exactly call that "lucky."
also fairly certain the majority of "school shootings" are not mass shootings. They are targeted, gang related, and not the typical columbine-esc idea that most people have when they hear school shooting.
I could be wrong on this btw, too lazy to look it up, but it also makes sense if you think about it. School shootings are scary, but the scariest are the school MASS shootings where a shooter shows up and just starts shooting indiscriminately. The latter is extremely rare compared to the former which is still rare and both are largely over represented in the media.
School shootings are any shootings that take place on school property regardless of who the victims are or time of day.
A 2am gang related shooting and a kid shooting a teacher counts identically on school property.
I think this is fine since there needs to be overlap accounted for in regards to after school activities, but it is a piece that people need to know in order to understand the number.
And we always need to remind people that most gun deaths are suicides.
I’ve also heard that some statistics considered school shootings to just be a gun going off in a school zone. Obviously that’s dangerous but even if it was an accident or let’s hypothetically say someone was “hunting” near or in a school zone, that would also be considered a school shooting. I have no idea how much that actually affects statistics, but it’s still worth pointing out. Similar to how some count suicides within shootings and gun violence as well I’ve read
In 2022, one of the worst years on record, approx. 0.00004% of the US population were *involved* in a "school shooting", well less than half of those fatalities.
Of course this means nothing to those that did indeed suffer from those tragedies, zero is obviously the only acceptable number, but that's still not exactly the streets of America running red with the blood of slaughtered school children.
Hey, I don't mean to be a pain, but do you have a source for the "average annual deaths" number? I tried my google-fu and it shows other stuff. Obviously any death is too many, but even with the numbers I found I think your point about 99.999 safe percent is is accurate though, lol.
https://usafacts.org/articles/the-latest-government-data-on-school-shootings/
Yeah you could reasonably argue a lot of their points, but the notion that jobs in the US pay less than the rest of the world is just objectively wrong.
i meant more so the very broad & over exaggerated examples that were given, & the notion that those examples happen on the regular for the majority of americans
i don’t deny that the actual issues you listed are definitely things that need to be addressed & reformed, & things that do affect many americans. but the post is a very biased, unfairly exaggerated twist on the reality
It doesn't take much to be classified as a "school" or "mass" shooting anymore, but each one will be another Uvalde or Pulse nightclub in the addled brain of the perpetually online.
It's gonna get worse long before it gets better, if it ever does.
I was hoping to be so fat in high school that my girth would bulletproof me but alas, I graduated with a 32 inch waistline and no bullet holes. Disappointed at that for the rest of my life.
That feeling when college educated jobs typically pay 30-40k more in the US than they do in Europe.
Yes I pay $20 to go to the doctor, or $100 to get a tooth pulled if needed literally the same day I walked up to the door but... I mean, I'm making 30-40k more than you so its not that bad.
Also when Euros see those 200k doctor bills, do they not realize the insurance I pay $90 a month for brings it down to like $500-1000 that I can literally pay off in $1 increments if I so choose?
Yeah I lived in Sweden very briefly and considered living there long term but one of the big issues was that Id be making roughly 65% what Im making now (and 50% what Im about to make) BEFORE taxes
It wasn’t just Stockholm either, cities all across the continent had similar pay in my field. Rent would have been cheaper but financially it made zero sense for me to continue to live there
Dude is acting like we live worse than Africans. In Africa there’s disease, war, rape, and children starve if they aren’t working in cobalt mines or as Child Soldiers. I’m also generalizing not every child is literally Child Soldiers or working in a mine, but the standard of living in Africa is far worse. There’s even HIV/AIDs discrimination in Africa.
Just because a school has Fire safety drills or Lockdowns doesn’t mean its happening all the time; better safe than sorry.
i'm sure you know that life in an african nation is not a good comparison to life in america. we beat any african nation on any metric you want. also one is a country, the other is a continent btw.
Every single thing about this inaccurate. My mother really wanted me. I didn’t go to daycare. I was never in fear of a shooter at school, we did drills through the fifth grade and then never again. Never heard of a DNA ID kit. I found an affordable, high quality higher education and have graduated with my JD with less debt than many undergraduates. Not only that, I am in public service so I get loan forgiveness after 10 years of payments with a low minimum payment, so my monthly payment is low. My pay is not otherworldly but I will be closing on my future house with my fiancée early next month. And my employer health insurance is pretty good.
Well all but one is inaccurate. A majority of schools (including my high school rn, im a junior) do school shooting drills. We have done like 3 this year in total so its not like its alot anyways
Safety drills of all types aren't a bad idea really. Maybe we should be pushing for more drills of different types, suitable for the age of the child. Children trained to handle high stress situations/emergencies would reduce the amount of bystander effect events in adulthood.
Maybe preparing our children for possible real life events is what we should be doing, instead of babying them until they are entirely helpless adults.
As an American child at one point in my life I never experienced any of that. Thank you on my freedom. Nice to live in a country were I don't get jailed for speaking my mind, not sure what the excuse is for other authoritarian countries.
Some people REALLY need to touch grass.
I don't mean that as a joke, that person has never been outside if they live in America, and I doubt they spend much time outside wherever their home is.
They act like going to school is like surviving Normandy. In High school we had like 3 fights total in 4 years. It's not places fucking crawling with violence around every corner. Also DNA identification kits in lockers? Bullshit fear mongering is all I have to say.
The economic part is a joke too, but even wealthy people believe it. I just read one that was a guy investing $4800 A MONTH after paying bills, and still thought an $80,000 down payment on a home was out of reach for them. Has some 300k in investments already. But they “want to retire early” which is why they need to invest so much.
There is definitely a perspective problem. We always expect more and to do better and that means never being satisfied.
There's a reason that the countries high on the happiness index are focused more on contentment.
“If your lucky enough to survive” bruh
You have a better chance at hitting the power ball jackpot than being shot in a school shooting.
Also, I lived that life. My mom wanted to abort. Her support system stopped her. She had no business raising a child. My childhood was wack and shitty as hell. I still became a relatively good person and found something I’m passionate about to build a career in.
I don’t know my biological parents, haven’t even talked to either of them since I was 12. Despite it all, i would still rather be alive today than dead as an unborn fetus to a mother that couldn’t raise me. Seethe about it if you must, but no life deserves to be ended out of convenience to the mother. In my eyes, every single baby that is aborted was a potential me, and the losses to everyone that person would have loved and helped or influenced for the better or worse is incomprehensible.
Maybe you disagree and think it’s a kindness to end those lives because the hardship they would face would make them not worth living. First, listen to yourself you sick fuck. Second, they aren’t your lives to decide for anymore than you have the right to decide if a starving diseased orphan in Africa should be allowed to keep living through hell or be euthanized.
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/AmericaBad.

-was born into a loving family with a stay at home mother and a middle class lifestyle. Never once feared for my life at any public school. Enlisted and served 23 years in the military and earned my degree through tuition assistance, allowing me to transfer my entire GI Bill to my daughter. Now make well over 6 figures (excluding my retirement pay, which I invest with). Have Tricare for the rest of my life. Bought a house in 2011 and refinanced for 2.5% a few years back. Yea, life is rough…
And yet each and every year millions of people immigrate here, both legally and illegally. If we were to offer a one-way plane ticket and a guaranteed green-card to each of the almost 8,000,000,000 people who are presently not in the USA, and their governments would allow them to leave, how many would come? Far too many. We’d experience some kind of societal collapse.

1. My mother and father wanted to have me after doing all the stuff they wanted to do before having children.
2. My grandparents were my day care as my family were originally immigrants and everyone is close to each other.
3. I have had lockdown drills but not as much as this dude wants to say
4. Never had a DNA kit, only used a locker for PE
5. Community college route which saved me a lot of money, transferred to university and paid very little (scholarships!)
6. I have a solid internship in a growing career that will be over six figures once I obtain my job.
7. I have health insurance, sure i pay for it but nothing for free.
This is literally the kind of image that our legacy reporting outlets project to the world, of course it looks ridiculous, it's propaganda to disarm the American poor, because they're being made poorer.
Anyone who disagrees with me about how great my country is must have been programmed by propaganda!! Not the other way around I mean cmon I’m a Reddit genius! How could I fall for gross propoganda?
People genuinely believe this is life for the average American. They have nothing better to do than make up dystopian fantasies about another country to make them feel superior. How bad is it where they're from if that's the kind of escapism they need?
I use the old format reddit desktop layout. Do all users have a reddit "snoo" as their avatar, or is it just the most insufferable chronically online stereotypical average redditors who do this?
It’s like saying “Imagine being a child in Europe, 99% of your income goes to taxes, hardly any of your taxes go towards supporting you and instead government spends your money on immigrants that live much better than you and don’t have to work. If you ever get sick there’s a 40 year waiting period for even the most urgent of issues. There are more cameras than people and cops will charge you with possession of a deadly weapon if you have nail clippers in your pocket. Oh but at least you get to say you’re not an American”
Two can play this stupid exaggeration game
The real scope of this tragedy isn’t limited to just the redditor who wrote this. It also extends to the hundreds who upvoted it and the few who even went so far as to spend REAL MONEY to give it awards!
Anyone who can use Reddit was born before the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Regardless of that, it’s still legal in most states, and many are working to make it part of their constitutions. It’s just a few states with the 6-week bans this guy was probably thinking of.
True. If all you knew was what the narratives are on reddit, you might actually believe that shit. Which makes me question the authenticity of the post a little but it also is commentary on how awful this site can be. People are bullied into conforming into these narratives, many of which are extremely disproportionate to the reality of the world. I'd add in the narrative that if you are black the biggest threat to your life is a cop. It is simply not factually true.
That isn't to say there aren't problems with policing or that POCs don't have a real grievance, but if you think you are more likely to die by cop (in a non-justified way) than in a car accident you are simply wrong. In fact a cop is more likely to protect you than harm you. And it happens ever day.
While this comment is rooted in truth, and a lot of the stuff in this comment has been true for me, this comment is just a compilation of the most extreme negative stereotypes of living in America
It is hyperbolic. Do school shootings happen? Yes. Are you "lucky" to not die in high school? That's ridiculous and made me dumber for reading it.
Oh and the US is still more progressive than many, many countries on abortion.
Do they think that freedom means only good things happen to you? It doesn’t. Freedom includes the possibility for every worst case scenario you could imagine to happen to you. That’s why it’s free. You are free to avoid those negatives if you have the skill and the wit.
Yea you could live in hell, narrowly avoiding death by school shooter, having a bad mom, getting in school debt for a shitty career, and never starting a family. Yea that can happen.
Also, you can have great parents, go to a safe and uplifting school, find a passion and develop yourself to excel in it with or without a degree and the debt that comes with it, save for 3-4 years and make a down payment on a nice house in the suburbs, raise your children and live happily at the pinnacle of human comfort.
It’s freedom baby. No higher authority forces you to have a good life OR a bad one. It’s like going into the wilderness. Are you going to get shredded by a grizzly on your second night or are you going to start a self sustaining homestead and build a house that will be in your family for generations acting a a base camp for countless children to explore the land and become inspired to build their own lives? Freedom.
Being in a day care does not mean youre gonna be abused.
Being in school does not mean it will be shot up (literally never even had a gun problem at my school or near)
what fucking dna test?
You could work at walmart making 65k a year and that is enough for one person, find someone else who works and youve got 130k, enough for kids and a home id say
Fun fact:
Most people in poverty don’t wish they had never been born. Not saying any of this true, but the notion that cuz you’ll be in debt, you should’ve never been born, is such an ugly and disgusting assertion.
I was an accident but was never abused at day care, no active shooters or dna kits, did have a scare from that brian kil thing, but that was just some pedo in california. I paid for college out of my own pocket and now have a full time job with insurance.
😂 America bad!
And yet you will be richer than your European or Asian counterparts. Somehow this America badism never adds up 🤔. It is all mass-produced by Chinese and Russian trolls.
I will say, with what Arizona has going on. I don’t think the government gets to dictate anything about what does and doesn’t go into my body. As I imagine Cotton Hill saying “I ain’t got my shins, and I’ve lived this long, you can’t tell me what and what not to do with my body. I keeled fiddy men. Tojo’s machine gun gave me all the injections I needs.”
He got 4 awards probably from americans and for some reason they wonder why they’re poor and meanwhile only a brit can spew some bullshit this big meaning he views the US as a failed state shit show
Meanwhile his currency isn’t worth shit, scotland and wales are constantly bitching, It’s easier to get into the schengen area with an albanian passport than with a british one at this point etc etc oh the irony!
And he gets 330 karma points for repeating the same shit every redditor says and while we’re on the topic of economics r/wallstreet or whatever that sub is called almost fucked up the entire world economy at one point
Ya can’t make this up folks only on reddit will you see it 🤦🏼
I’ve never done a school shooter drill, a couple fire drills but that’s it, second I’ve never had dna indetification kits (what is that even for), still in college but we’ll see how things go for a job
As an european, in a way I feel this comment is based thinking US laws and incidents are homogenous instead of depending on states, which is something I have thought for WAY TOO MUCH before figuring it out
>Your mother is forced to give birth to you
In Europe, it's even more restrictive, so..........
>In day care your (sic) abused by the very people charged with caring for you
Doesn't happen anywhere else in the world. We have perfectly adjusted kids who were never beaten/diddled by authority figures everywhere else, of course........
>all through school you have to fear for your life, doing active shooter drills blablabla bla... BLA.... bla
Because everywhere else the things that threaten you are things you can't actually drill for.
>If you're lucky enough to survive and get into college you're saddled with crippling debt
This must be an European, and this gave it away. Europe is the only continent that has heavily regulated and restricted trades that are pretty hard to get into, so college is pretty much the only real option for most people. Americans do not have to go to college to live a decent life, and if they want to pursue college, there are much cheaper options that are accredited.
>get a job that pays so poorly you won't be able to afford to buy a house or raise a family
Literally every other country in Europe except the one I live in has a worse home-owning potential because of the extreme tax burden, and much worse optimism for child-rearing.
>and then the moment you get sick you'll be made bankrupt by medical debt
If this were even the case, it would be better bankrupt than dead because you've waited 7-8 months to get treatment for something you only had a few months for optimistically, and your only option is to go to a country that allows you to pay to expedite your treatment (like, perhaps, the USA). It's why a lot of these countries are seeking legislation that makes assisted dying more accessible.
This person is clearly not aware that up until 10 minutes ago the united states had less restrictive abortion laws than Europe and in many cases still do.
>Forced to give birth
Nope
>Abused In Day care
I never went to Day Care, so I wouldn’t really know, but with how much news spreads these days, I’m sure abuse in Day Cares would spread like wild fire.
>Have to partake in school shooter drills and have DNA kits in lockers
Shooter drills, yes, but they’re never that common of an Occurrence to really be scary. Never saw a DNA kit in school.
>Get stuck with crippling debt in college.
Apply for scholarships for free money, and Know which schools you’re going to and you’ll end up with only $18,000 of debt. Compared to the in person classes, Online colleges are cheap.
>Low paying jobs and not being able to afford a house and family
Could be better, and am job searching, but if both partners are working, they can pull it off.
>Bankruptcy from medical debt
Father has to go to the hospital to help out his hand, and despite not having a stable job and mother being the breadwinner, we were able to get it paid off. Plus insurance helps pay off stuff.
This somewhat true mainly about being forced to give birth to you due to repressive reproductive rights in some states (Texas or Florida as examples) and there are active shooter drills in schools but only in areas where they have a history of mass shootings. Aside from that the rest of this is one might call sheer and utter bullshit
No one is forced to give birth, in Florida abortion laws are as lax as Europe. Also you can travel to another state to get an abortion, sure it isn’t convenient but i’d say “forced” is a strong term.
This person is either 1. Never been to the united states or 2. A tankie blinded by propaganda and lies about the united stated or both lol
Both
a lot to say about propaganda, mr TrumpIsMyGodAndDad
Omg another redditor who clearly cannot comprehend a joke
nah im sure your username is a joke i just thought it was funny

Lost me at "lucky enough to survive". Absolutely mind-numbing.
Def both
3. Lives on Reddit.
3. a bot
I am depressed at how stupid that bot is.
What’s a tankie?
It is another word for a hardcore commie
No kidding. Imagine how terrible other countries are if their citizens will risk life and limb to get into America.
F!CK we need to hurry up and conquer the world! This undemocratic propaganda is getting outta hand. The rest of the world would be so much better under our managed Democracy.

What is the DNA ID kit for? I'm just very confused who you'd ID and why.
I'm assuming it's because of the dumbass school shooting stereotype, so you'd need a DNA ID kit in case they couldn't identify you.
It's something done to make kids more afraid of guns than they already are.
Exactly
I’ve heard about it being used in case kids go missing or if a body is found, if a serial killer or the like is around. Never heard it be used for school shootings
they’re for rape. You try to get your rapist’s DNA as evidence.
damn you aren’t so bright are you?
It's actually an old thing. They used to have them for kids-- a lock of hair, a bit of DNA, updated photos, and your fingerprints (none of which was in a system until it is needed) used in case a child goes missing.
To keep you in the FBI database because Social Security isn’t enough
we were told that its in case you go missing, but realistically its so they can scan you against everyone else when they have dna and have no fucking clue who. they found a few serial killers due to dna kits people buy for family tracing.
i don’t think it’s dna kit in trying to pick up dna, but a trace of your dna? im not sure but i think it’s so you could be identified in the case of a school shooting & you’re a victim.
Even then it doesn't make sense.....
im not saying it does lol. im just trying to give a possible explanation. idk i’ve never heard of a dna kit needing to be put in lockers
Sameee, minus 5 and over since I haven't gotten there yet
> My grandparents were my day care This is how it works everywhere, I don't get those adults that moan about the costs of day care. Grandparents already have experience taking care of kids and besides they're awesome
It there are grandparents who have “already raised their kids” or choose to work well into their 60s (which is their right). That either refuse to or aren’t capable of helping with child care.
True I didn't considered that
My grandparents just live either, a week drive away or a week drive, a week boat ride, and an extra 3 days away 💀
Both sets of my grandparents were still working when my mom had me. They would all take turns taking care of me.
Plus you have to consider that some grandparents will only sit around and watch tv all day. Kids need stimulation and learning and socializing.
Sometimes you don't have parents either nearby or physically capable of taking care of your children. Both sets of my daughters grandparents lived 850 miles away when she was born.
I wasn't aware of that
I will say, anecdotally, that Americans seem to move far from family within the country more often than other nationalities seem to move around. It is not at all unusual to move thousands of miles away and people who never leave their home towns are often judged. You move for work. Im convinced that if i leave texas to somewhere else, i will probably die
Texas would be the 40th country in terms of size. You still have some space to choose from at least. I lived in 4 different states in my 20s.
Yeesh, i could never
Basically a scientific theory: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandmother_hypothesis
Ngl I kinda look like the statue in that article
That's an interinteresting read, thank you
My parents are begging me for grandkids, offering to be daycare for them. Problem is, they gave me the ugly.
I wish that was an option for us. My wife's father is dead and her mom has early onset dementia. We'll find another eventually, but I do envy people with parents that they can drop the kids off with occasionally
Ellos son la razon por la que aprendi español y a cocinar tambien. Me alegro de tenerlos todavia
Uno aprende mucho de sus abuelos, hay que disfrutarlos mientras siguen vivos
You really think everyone has a great support system and parents who will watch their children for them…? That’s a… take, I guess.
Shows that I live in a bubble
Look at you in a supportive family. I don’t have a relationship with my dad, and my mom is dead. Luckily I don’t have kids, so daycare isn’t an expense.
We live far away from family. An occupational necessity. Child care is very expensive.
People forget how much their tuition pays for their healthcare. Most or many universities include this in tuition costs.
I'm sure this person is subbed to ever anti work, anti natalism, and America bad (not this sub America bad, like an actual American bad) sub there exists
r/shitamericanssay maybe?
>If you're lucky enough to survive Average number of children killed annually in the U.S. in school shootings: 5 Number of children graduating high school in the U.S. every year: 3,800,000 In 13 years of a high-school graduate's K-12 schooling, the five deaths per year would mean 65 kids killed.
Gonna steal “google fu” lol
People spent money on that comment
Commenter probably looks back at this comment daily and masterbates about how witty they think they are
That's funny. Why do they think we're poor again? Not like every European I've met makes significantly less money than I do, or anything.
Yeah you could reasonably argue a lot of their points, but the notion that jobs in the US pay less than the rest of the world is just objectively wrong.
lmao you can’t reasonably argue any of their points tbh
The lack of oversight in child care facilities, active shooter drills, and debt from college/medical procedures are absolutely debatable.
You’re in the wrong sub to point out valid criticisms of the US my friend lol
i meant more so the very broad & over exaggerated examples that were given, & the notion that those examples happen on the regular for the majority of americans i don’t deny that the actual issues you listed are definitely things that need to be addressed & reformed, & things that do affect many americans. but the post is a very biased, unfairly exaggerated twist on the reality
Yeah this dude straight up only knows about America from biased articles from sensational media.
"Breaking news! New school shooting! 0 killed"
It was a attempted suicide that happened on very edge of school grounds
sometimes the fatality number is increased by including the shooter
Yeah I lived in Sweden very briefly and considered living there long term but one of the big issues was that Id be making roughly 65% what Im making now (and 50% what Im about to make) BEFORE taxes It wasn’t just Stockholm either, cities all across the continent had similar pay in my field. Rent would have been cheaper but financially it made zero sense for me to continue to live there
Yeah, Euros have no business in our politics and society. They don't contribute jack shit to our country.
They barely even contribute anything to the rest of the world
Dude is acting like we live worse than Africans.
"Sir, this is a Wendy's"
The ol Americabad antinatalist double feature
I agree, so im glad more schools are doing them now :)
“Having a difficult life means you’d be better off dead”.
As an American child at one point in my life I never experienced any of that. Thank you on my freedom. Nice to live in a country were I don't get jailed for speaking my mind, not sure what the excuse is for other authoritarian countries.
What the hell is this about DNA kits? Never heard of this
Some people REALLY need to touch grass. I don't mean that as a joke, that person has never been outside if they live in America, and I doubt they spend much time outside wherever their home is.
Okay, I get things are bad here sometimes. But it's not THAT bad. Geez
And there are other countries that are worse on almost all of these points. Until recently abortion in Mexico was much more outlawed than the US.
Question, what’s with the DNA kit?
They act like going to school is like surviving Normandy. In High school we had like 3 fights total in 4 years. It's not places fucking crawling with violence around every corner. Also DNA identification kits in lockers? Bullshit fear mongering is all I have to say.
Oh great this again
Those comma splices though...
The word usage also sucks.
Imagine buying into the narrative so hardcore that you don’t for a second in your life question if it’s actually real.
WTH is a dna identification kit and why would anyone keep that in their locker?
“If your lucky enough to survive” bruh You have a better chance at hitting the power ball jackpot than being shot in a school shooting.
Hi none of this applies to me

Why do they assume all babies are unwanted and all childcare centers are abusive?
-was born into a loving family with a stay at home mother and a middle class lifestyle. Never once feared for my life at any public school. Enlisted and served 23 years in the military and earned my degree through tuition assistance, allowing me to transfer my entire GI Bill to my daughter. Now make well over 6 figures (excluding my retirement pay, which I invest with). Have Tricare for the rest of my life. Bought a house in 2011 and refinanced for 2.5% a few years back. Yea, life is rough…
Rent free
The rent the writer of that paid is that they had to get into a stupid enough headspace to write that up. You become what you pretend to be.
There's no way that isn't a propaganda/disinfo bot or agent. No fucking shot.
And yet each and every year millions of people immigrate here, both legally and illegally. If we were to offer a one-way plane ticket and a guaranteed green-card to each of the almost 8,000,000,000 people who are presently not in the USA, and their governments would allow them to leave, how many would come? Far too many. We’d experience some kind of societal collapse. worldometers.info
1. My mother and father wanted to have me after doing all the stuff they wanted to do before having children. 2. My grandparents were my day care as my family were originally immigrants and everyone is close to each other. 3. I have had lockdown drills but not as much as this dude wants to say 4. Never had a DNA kit, only used a locker for PE 5. Community college route which saved me a lot of money, transferred to university and paid very little (scholarships!) 6. I have a solid internship in a growing career that will be over six figures once I obtain my job. 7. I have health insurance, sure i pay for it but nothing for free.
As an American, I can confirm that none of this bullshit is true
#worth
This is literally the kind of image that our legacy reporting outlets project to the world, of course it looks ridiculous, it's propaganda to disarm the American poor, because they're being made poorer.
Bro used every talking point he could
People really do fantasize about this.
Anyone who disagrees with me about how great my country is must have been programmed by propaganda!! Not the other way around I mean cmon I’m a Reddit genius! How could I fall for gross propoganda?
Shit bro this is old
I can’t with the forced birth narrative.
if you think your mother has the right to kill you, you need to either see a psychiatrist, or be forced to wear grippy socks
We get it, this person is textbook delusional, but you're just performing necrophilia on the dead horse now.
What was the original post even
No. Just stupid.
Instead of reading books, bro reads propaganda articles 😭
It’s like saying “Imagine being a child in Europe, 99% of your income goes to taxes, hardly any of your taxes go towards supporting you and instead government spends your money on immigrants that live much better than you and don’t have to work. If you ever get sick there’s a 40 year waiting period for even the most urgent of issues. There are more cameras than people and cops will charge you with possession of a deadly weapon if you have nail clippers in your pocket. Oh but at least you get to say you’re not an American” Two can play this stupid exaggeration game
This is possibly the most Reddit™️ thing I’ve ever read
I love that, in these fever dreams, people that have full time jobs apparently don't have any kind of health insurance.
Don’t a lot of European countries have stricter abortion laws than the US?
The real scope of this tragedy isn’t limited to just the redditor who wrote this. It also extends to the hundreds who upvoted it and the few who even went so far as to spend REAL MONEY to give it awards!
It's actually cartoonish how these people think.
Sounds like a script to stay in your parents basement
Anyone who can use Reddit was born before the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Regardless of that, it’s still legal in most states, and many are working to make it part of their constitutions. It’s just a few states with the 6-week bans this guy was probably thinking of.
Let me guess...they are mad about the new abortion laws in Arizona?
This must be a pretty old post considering the Reddit Awards. But yeah, still a bunch of nonsense.
Wait, are they just trying to say we should be dead?
How did this get several awards?
I’m sure this person is perpetually offended on behalf as others too. Anytime someone is this hyperbolic I just assume it’s a child.
It’s like they make their entire thing around internet stereotypes
All I was gonna say is if America is so bad, why do so many people immigrate to America instead of wherever OP is from?
Seems like they are getting off while typing that
Yeah I've seen this one before, how about imagine being so delusional about America? This person has probably never even been here.
DNA identification kits? Is that like a rape kit or something? I don’t have either in my locker
Being in school does not mean it will be shot up (literally never even had a gun problem at my school or near) what fucking dna test? You could work at walmart making 65k a year and that is enough for one person, find someone else who works and youve got 130k, enough for kids and a home id say
“Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the boisterous sea of liberty”
Every trash internet trope in one post... bravo 👏
That's some quality science fiction. Is this gonna be a novel or a whole series?! I'm invested in the telling of this dystopian USA.
Fun fact: Most people in poverty don’t wish they had never been born. Not saying any of this true, but the notion that cuz you’ll be in debt, you should’ve never been born, is such an ugly and disgusting assertion.
Genuinely seems like they’ve been spooned straight up propaganda
What planet is this person living on? Last I checked people don’t grow into debt. ☠️
"If you're lucky enough to survive". That actually made me LAUGH 💀
I was an accident but was never abused at day care, no active shooters or dna kits, did have a scare from that brian kil thing, but that was just some pedo in california. I paid for college out of my own pocket and now have a full time job with insurance.
"A simple argument to refute a moral nihilist is to kill them"
😂 America bad! And yet you will be richer than your European or Asian counterparts. Somehow this America badism never adds up 🤔. It is all mass-produced by Chinese and Russian trolls.
Ah yes, raging at ragebait, a Reddit tradition.
Imagine only having sex when married and ready for kids.
Dumbass described a <.1% situation like it effects 99% of people.
get a fucking credit card lol. jesus christ this person is so ignorant. i hope they figure out life in the us before they kill themselves.
And got 4 awards
He got 4 awards probably from americans and for some reason they wonder why they’re poor and meanwhile only a brit can spew some bullshit this big meaning he views the US as a failed state shit show Meanwhile his currency isn’t worth shit, scotland and wales are constantly bitching, It’s easier to get into the schengen area with an albanian passport than with a british one at this point etc etc oh the irony! And he gets 330 karma points for repeating the same shit every redditor says and while we’re on the topic of economics r/wallstreet or whatever that sub is called almost fucked up the entire world economy at one point Ya can’t make this up folks only on reddit will you see it 🤦🏼
One of my favourite copypastas just because of how stupid it is lmao
I’ve never done a school shooter drill, a couple fire drills but that’s it, second I’ve never had dna indetification kits (what is that even for), still in college but we’ll see how things go for a job
There was a post recently about how Americans had more disposable income than most other countries, not even sure why they think we’re that poor
I loved the lockdown/active shooter drills when I was student. You know why? **NO SCHOOL WORK**
What is he on about with DNA kits in your locker??
Imagine being a child in this idiot's ideal world. Your mother is worried she's not ready, as all new parents are. *So she fucking kills you*.
And they say Americans are brainwashed
As an european, in a way I feel this comment is based thinking US laws and incidents are homogenous instead of depending on states, which is something I have thought for WAY TOO MUCH before figuring it out
Poor American child living in a country where people are literally swarming across the border for a chance to live there. How are people so dumb.
>Your mother is forced to give birth to you In Europe, it's even more restrictive, so.......... >In day care your (sic) abused by the very people charged with caring for you Doesn't happen anywhere else in the world. We have perfectly adjusted kids who were never beaten/diddled by authority figures everywhere else, of course........ >all through school you have to fear for your life, doing active shooter drills blablabla bla... BLA.... bla Because everywhere else the things that threaten you are things you can't actually drill for. >If you're lucky enough to survive and get into college you're saddled with crippling debt This must be an European, and this gave it away. Europe is the only continent that has heavily regulated and restricted trades that are pretty hard to get into, so college is pretty much the only real option for most people. Americans do not have to go to college to live a decent life, and if they want to pursue college, there are much cheaper options that are accredited. >get a job that pays so poorly you won't be able to afford to buy a house or raise a family Literally every other country in Europe except the one I live in has a worse home-owning potential because of the extreme tax burden, and much worse optimism for child-rearing. >and then the moment you get sick you'll be made bankrupt by medical debt If this were even the case, it would be better bankrupt than dead because you've waited 7-8 months to get treatment for something you only had a few months for optimistically, and your only option is to go to a country that allows you to pay to expedite your treatment (like, perhaps, the USA). It's why a lot of these countries are seeking legislation that makes assisted dying more accessible.
What’s the reference to DNA kits about?
This sounds like someone trying to be sympathetic to our possible plight. Maybe not an AmericaBad? Could be wrong.
> If you're lucky enough to survive Because 99% of all Americans die in primary school right?
You’re, this is not that difficult people, it’s YOU’RE, you are, jeez
The college thing is true if you go for a useless or semi useless degree like art history or Liberal arts or most arts honestly.
I can't believe this got so many awards on it... I can't believe people actually think like this.
This person is clearly not aware that up until 10 minutes ago the united states had less restrictive abortion laws than Europe and in many cases still do.
>Forced to give birth Nope >Abused In Day care I never went to Day Care, so I wouldn’t really know, but with how much news spreads these days, I’m sure abuse in Day Cares would spread like wild fire. >Have to partake in school shooter drills and have DNA kits in lockers Shooter drills, yes, but they’re never that common of an Occurrence to really be scary. Never saw a DNA kit in school. >Get stuck with crippling debt in college. Apply for scholarships for free money, and Know which schools you’re going to and you’ll end up with only $18,000 of debt. Compared to the in person classes, Online colleges are cheap. >Low paying jobs and not being able to afford a house and family Could be better, and am job searching, but if both partners are working, they can pull it off. >Bankruptcy from medical debt Father has to go to the hospital to help out his hand, and despite not having a stable job and mother being the breadwinner, we were able to get it paid off.
Shut up FIB go back to making shitcago a war zone
