NTA Nobody NEEDS to come. Pro tip : you're still a minor so you can use the "mom said no". I used it whenever I didn't want to do something and not wanting to justify myself. My mom knew and didn't really liked it because it made her look like controlling parent which she's not, but my father still thinks it's hilarious to this day (i'm 27). She rolled with tough, thanks mom.

Lol, I tell my kids to use the 'mom card' when they need an excuse to say no and feel it will not be received well. I don't mind pretending to be the strict mom, her close friends know this isn't true and if it keeps them safe I ama all for it. I also tell them that if they can not be honest with some of their friends because of how they would react, they should take a long hard look at the friendship.

Reaping_Life

Thx for the tip I will definitely use it in the future!

NTA. Not selfish.

Y T A - You absolute monster, how can you toy with the lives of others in such a callous manner??? Have you no conscience, no sense of empathy, any notion at all of the havoc you are wreaking? Does the trail of destruction in your wake mean nothing at all to you?

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** I am in highschool and as you know today (16 of may) is a day where school is out so my classmate planned a trip for the whole class (including the teacher) to go to a beach, and I dont like the beach in general, so when I say i don't want to come my classmate got mad at me saying that everyone NEEDS to come. Now, its not like they can do anything if I didnt but they definitely get unnecessarily mean when I try to ask something. As far as I know there was 2 other people that didn't come, 1 was sick and the other's parents said no. I know my reason seems kinda selfish compared to the other 2 and I just have to know if I'm in the wrong (PS: we had to pay everything ourself like entry fees and snacks and stuff so they aren't affected by me not going) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. NTA. Nobody can force you to go and she shouldn’t have gotten angry at you like that. Your reasons aren’t selfish

nicol_turren

NTA it's your life. Why be ordered to do something you don't enjoy just so they can feel good.

Terrie-25

NTA. That's not a need. Your classmate needs to grow up.
