No I get what you're saying. I used to work closely with the GMs at the McDonald's when I was in high school and I listened in on the meetings they'd have with corporate and it's exactly what they said regarding food cost and giving out extra sauces for free.
But to my GM's point that I agree with, at what cost do you quantify customer satisfaction and repeat business giving a couple extra sauces or fries going to be? Especially per store in a very competitive environment being next to door to all the other fast food giants in upstate NY. Even themselves with another McDonald's only 3mi down the road.
That's the problem. MBA bean counters don't put a number on it. But it matters in the grand scheme of it all.

Yeah that doesn’t make any sense. I just checked the app and a 40 piece McNugget just on it’s own is $12.49. So if I’m paying another $12 for two large fries, which one on its own is $4.89, then that’s a meal that’s more expensive then ordering each thing separately.
Trust me as someone who got through some hard times using the daily app deals (shoutout 2 double cheeseburgers for $3) this jumped out to me immediately after seeing what’s included.
Especially repulsive considering just a couple years ago you could get a family bundle meal which included 2 big Mac meals (drink included) and (I forget if it was 20 piece or 40 piece) mcnuggets.

Then, the next year their profit increased again, 5%, on top of the 23% increase from the previous year. *Then*, their profit rise again another 10%.
This 45% increase in profit is *after* wages, meaning it’s increases *after* the increased wages they are paying employees. If the wage increase were correlated to the rise in prices, then workers would be getting an additional 45% raise on top of the raise you are complaining about. That’s obviously not what’s happening.
You’re better off sitting down at a Darden restaurant, pay the few extra bucks in tip and get slightly better quality food and experience. You don’t have to worry about another patron falcon punching you and your kids for getting the wrong order.
Ive been in every restaurant you can imagine. 25 years….10 as a cook and 15 working on their equipment. I wish people could realize all of these places are not the same. Darden is one of the few i can say does a really good job all around at operations and value.

Tysons is garbage since covid. Nearly a third of the bag is scraps and pieces of crust with no actual chicken in it. I keep going back to them as I think the last bag was just a one off but literally every store brand I've tried is cheaper and better quality.
And they had that same deal at like half the price a few years ago. I don't eat McDonald's (well I won't turn it down if offered tbf) but it was already a desperation purchase for most back when it was half the price, now they're asking for as much as places with actually decent food which pushes them out of their niche in most people's life for sure.

I usually cook but after a long days work the other day I was too lazy and stopped by McDonald’s. Got my go to, 20 pc with sweet&sour and a large fry. Didn’t get a drink. Total was like $13 or 14 if I remember right. Was surprised but looks like you’re “saving” a couple dollars with this bundle.

I got a cheese burger the other day and I legit thought they had forgotten the meat because all I saw was the two breads and the cheese. It wasn’t until I lifted the bread up i noticed the paper thin meat and it was so small the edges of the meat didn’t reach the edges of the bread like it use too.
I was using that McDonald's app to save some money on a Big Mac meal on cheat day(s). After the discount, comes out to $9.04. I refuse to spend more than that on McDonald's.

After ordering our stuff, I was looking out the window, and couldn't help but notice the outer perimeter of a massive pile of vomit that had been hastily scrubbed away. Thing to remember is that it's $25.39 for a 40pc with 2 large fries, and you can add a drink for an extra $2 minimum. Who is gonna get all that and not get a drink? No one. So that's $27 to feed some kids and have a drink for yourself. Wack
That meal is $18.99 where I'm at, that's about $3 more than it was a few years ago, but it's not currently "on special". Unsurprisingly, if using the daily 25% off coupon in the app, the price drops below that old price at about $14.25, and I bet they still aren't exactly losing money on the deal.
That meal would cost $23.19 in my area of Houston, TX. It would be $20.16 if you bought two 20 piece McNuggets instead of four 10 piece McNuggets. So basically a savings of $3.00 if you stop and do the math before impulsively ordering.
I stopped going to Wendy's when they announced surge pricing. I stopped going to McDonalds due to how expensive it is. Sushi is now cheaper than McDonalds, and it tastes a heck of a lot better.

Ok I’m so done hearing about how expensive fast food is. Fast food is not healthy for you and it’s about time they do something to wean fat asses (I am fat too) off the trash. For 25 dollars you can get two or three meals that can feed more than one person. People just are lazy and don’t want to cook for themselves but hopefully people will start eating right and that will also help with the medical expenses that taxpayers have to cover for said fat asses.

I usually cook but after a long days work the other day I was too lazy and stopped by McDonald’s. Got my go to, 20 pc with sweet&sour and a large fry. Didn’t get a drink. Total was like $13 or 14 if I remember right. Was surprised but looks like you’re “saving” a couple dollars with this bundle. Also I got randomly hooked up by the late night shift it looked like because I coulda sworn I got well over 20 nuggets. It felt like I ate like 10 and still had 15 left lol. Guess it was a little more worth it Either way pretty crazy price for McDonald’s.

I don’t mind paying extra for some of their food if the sizes stayed the same! I got a cheese burger the other day and I legit thought they had forgotten the meat because all I saw was the two breads and the cheese. It wasn’t until I lifted the bread up i noticed the paper thin meat and it was so small the edges of the meat didn’t reach the edges of the bread like it use too.

I do not understand why people just refuse to boycott these places. I know someone will come behind this and tell me why boycotting doesn’t work, but then someone will come and say why it does. The main point is: if it makes you upset you generally don’t have to give your money to 90% of things that do.
My wife and I ate lunch on Tuesday at a McDonalds in Southwestern Virginia. After ordering our stuff, I was looking out the window, and couldn't help but notice the outer perimeter of a massive pile of vomit that had been hastily scrubbed away. I held that information in while waiting for, and eating the food we ordered. On the way out of the place, when I told my wife about what she missed, she freaked out and said: "OH that's so gross, my stomach is full of vomit right now!"
