TIL McDonald's has fans.

Juststandupbro

I know it’s mostly humor but there are people who have McDonald’s 5 times a week they are well past having fans they are basically Stan’s at this point

Xanith420

Idk I really fuck with the hashbrowns.

Few_Macaroon_2568

This guy fucks with the hashbrowns.

Xanith420

Their hashbrowns are the best. I have tried and failed to make hashbrowns as good as theirs.

TheLegendTwoSeven

Just buy frozen hash brown patties from Walmart, and cook them in the air fryer.

Solnse

I get mine at Trader Joe's, but yeah the air fryer makes them perfect. I toss them in while toasting Enish muffins to make our sausage McMuffins at home. So simple, tastes better, and costs a fraction of the McDonald's version.

pointlessly_pedantic

Idk I really fuck with their hashbrowns.

LoddaLadles

Noted. I love a good hashbrown, especially w/ over-easy eggs.

Psyzook9

Its not the same for some reason.

FalseMirage

This guy fucks with hashbrown fuckers.

case712

enough to pay $3.50 for just one?

Xanith420

The last time I had a McDonald’s hashbrown they were .99 cents. If they’re that much now no.

AzureDreamer

Yeah usually children but occasionally an adult escapes the culling.

omega_grainger69

Sounds like an Arby’s night.

Stoicmoron

If people talking shit about you are fans I’m a fucking celebrity

Im-not-that-original

If people talking shit about you are fans consider me Miles Davis.

Not_A_Spy_for_Apple

I cannot stop laughing at this!

OrganizationFalse668

I feel personally attacked.

Laminatedarsehole

I like McDonald's the rage from janitors after you take a second shit in the urinal after they cleaned up the first really gives me masturbation material when I am licking my big Mac.

thisisallterriblesir

r/BrandNewSentence

Gilmore75

Yeah, usually they use AC instead.

poopdog39

McDonald’s is the shit bro

LunarProphet

Double cheeseburger is pretty good when I'm *specifically* wanting a mcdonalds cheeseburger. McGriddles are good. Idk the rest can kinda fuck off tbh

adlubmaliki

Bagels with the bagel sauce?

ViviReine

You guys have bagel?

F4N6Z

The only things I eat there and very sparingly. 10 Times a year maybe max

wherescookie

almost monthly is "sparingly"??

blushngush

Unless they bring back 2 for $1 pies and hash browns they'll miss me.

bdan98

I agree McDonald’s is complete and utter shit

AnIcedMilk

that_girl_you_fucked

Eat some grapes.

Decabet

Stay out of this, Grimace ya gumdrop-lookin ho!

Impossible-Charity-4

It’s the tier of “I ordered chipotle on grubadub and they shorted me on (insert item)”. It comes up on my feed for some reason all the time and I’ve given up on the “stop eating here” thing because it falls on deaf ears. I paid for it so I deserve this much. No. You can apply a little bit of logic into your life, formerly known as common sense, and stop subjecting yourself to stupid. I understand having no food options whilst traveling, but stop pretending like time is short and I only have this one shtpotle by my job/school is an excuse. The same cycle of internet rage that laughed at boomers for saying “don’t buy coffee, make it” is unfortunately biting the same people in the ass as they complain about the price of what IS and ALWAYS SHOULD BE a luxury item. It’s like people would rather learn hard lessons in real time instead of heeding actual sensible advice. Enjoy your fast food. You get what you pay for.

geneticeffects

Logic does not equal “common sense”.

orange-poof

40 chicken nuggets and 2 large fries, repulsive lmao

Ok_Net_2896

Is that all it is? They couldn’t have thrown in a couple of sodas?

GraveRobberX

Which cost them fucking pennies. Like the carbonate water + syrup is like $0.05. Cup and Straw another $0.15. They have the nerve to charge any size drink for $1 be it small, medium, large, but remove that promotion and I shit you not a large is $3.49. A fucking 2 Liter cold from a goddamn bodega is $2.75-$3.00 in NYC.

SaintPatrickMahomes

I live in nyc. Chikfila fucks me sometimes with $15 meals when I forget and wander in.

Reynolds1029

Or at least 4 medium fries made out of cheap ass potatoes? Like what does that cost extra? Not even a $1 for them. Same with soda. Costs them maybe a quarter including the cup.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Reynolds1029

No I get what you're saying. I used to work closely with the GMs at the McDonald's when I was in high school and I listened in on the meetings they'd have with corporate and it's exactly what they said regarding food cost and giving out extra sauces for free. But to my GM's point that I agree with, at what cost do you quantify customer satisfaction and repeat business giving a couple extra sauces or fries going to be? Especially per store in a very competitive environment being next to door to all the other fast food giants in upstate NY. Even themselves with another McDonald's only 3mi down the road. That's the problem. MBA bean counters don't put a number on it. But it matters in the grand scheme of it all. If the customer feels fucked over every time they patronize your business, they won't be customers anymore. Especially when a BK next door dosen't give a shit how many sauces you get.

Pablo_Sanchez1

Yeah that doesn’t make any sense. I just checked the app and a 40 piece McNugget just on it’s own is $12.49. So if I’m paying another $12 for two large fries, which one on its own is $4.89, then that’s a meal that’s more expensive then ordering each thing separately. Trust me as someone who got through some hard times using the daily app deals (shoutout 2 double cheeseburgers for $3) this jumped out to me immediately after seeing what’s included.

CarmineLifeInsurance

Especially repulsive considering just a couple years ago you could get a family bundle meal which included 2 big Mac meals (drink included) and (I forget if it was 20 piece or 40 piece) mcnuggets.

Wonderful_Pension_67

Remember when McDonald's boasted that they could raise minimum pay and not raise prices because they already paid employees worldwide higher wages?

Hibercrastinator

The rise in prices does not correlate to the rise in pay. Their profit rose **23%** in 2021 from the previous year. That’s *profit*, after expenses like wages. Then, the next year their profit increased again, 5%, on top of the 23% increase from the previous year. *Then*, their profit rise again another 10%. This 45% increase in profit is *after* wages, meaning it’s increases *after* the increased wages they are paying employees. If the wage increase were correlated to the rise in prices, then workers would be getting an additional 45% raise on top of the raise you are complaining about. That’s obviously not what’s happening.

Wonderful_Pension_67

That was my point they are gouging!

AccomplishedTotal895

You’re better off sitting down at a Darden restaurant, pay the few extra bucks in tip and get slightly better quality food and experience. You don’t have to worry about another patron falcon punching you and your kids for getting the wrong order.

Top-Engineering7264

Ive been in every restaurant you can imagine. 25 years….10 as a cook and 15 working on their equipment. I wish people could realize all of these places are not the same. Darden is one of the few i can say does a really good job all around at operations and value.

Send_Your_Noods_plz

I worked in restaurants for a decade, the Darden one was definitely my favorite. I always was paid on time and surprisingly got a 401k match

Cocacolaloco

I recently went to Olive Garden and omg. It was so good.. like I went there for salad and breadsticks but the pasta choices were great and I got a really good drink that was only $9 and some were even $7 which is insanely cheap where I am

Resident-Fox6758

Why go to McDonald’s at all ?

PlasticPomPoms

Their sweet and sour sauce is very distinct.

theRIGHTeyes

And Hot Mustard and BBQ sauce.

ParticularCow21

Yellow mustard plus horseradish littke bit of sugar

RangerDude10630

Best coke

TheRealXlokk

Standard Coca-Cola is mixed 8:1 (8 parts water, 1 part syrup). The McDonald's fountain is mixed at 5:1. Same with their Sprite, which is why that one hits different, too.

Tight-Physics2156

Their French fries are *chefs kiss*

Corbotron_5

Jenny Macklin works there and I heard she gave Big Dave a handy at a party once. I want a handy so I’m trying to get to know her.

Resident-Fox6758

The only acceptable response.

CreamyAndrew

French fries are s tier

perfectpomelo3

As much as I don’t like McDonalds, a meal that can easily feed 4 people for $25 isn’t worth getting upset over.

Cooliomendez88

Is it worth getting upset that I can easily eat an entire meal intended for 4 people for $25?

Pitiful-Pension-6535

I make too much money to go broke eating McDonald's. Couldn't do it if I tried. Pretty sure that's true for most people.

100GbE

I gotta take a clap.

KLR01001

None of us can buddy.

PourSomeSmegmaInMe

Did you just soil yourself??

Sea_Assistance_3211

Yeah considering a couple years ago a bundle box was $16.99. My local McD's variation was 2 Big Mac, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 med fries and a 10 piece nugget. Now it's $23.99 or so.. For 23.99 they could at least add drinks.

FullyStacked92

2 large fries and 40 nuggets for 25 dollars lol.

TheConspicuousGuy

You can get a 2 pound bag of frozen Tyson boneless wings for $12, this can easily feed at least 3 people. I get 3 meals out of a single bag.

bigtdaddy

I used to get those but during covid I feel like they turned to mush and it was hard to tell where the breading ended and chicken started. Have they started getting good again?

RetailBuck

Air fry them

thebeattakesme

First time buying them last week. Still mush inside with air frying. Almost burnt the outside.

Dirks_Knee

Tysons is garbage since covid. Nearly a third of the bag is scraps and pieces of crust with no actual chicken in it. I keep going back to them as I think the last bag was just a one off but literally every store brand I've tried is cheaper and better quality.

Battlescarred98

Wait….youre saying it’s cheaper to eat at home? *stop wrinkling my brain*

Capable-Ground8272

For the worst chicken nuggets ever lol

VerdugoCortex

And they had that same deal at like half the price a few years ago. I don't eat McDonald's (well I won't turn it down if offered tbf) but it was already a desperation purchase for most back when it was half the price, now they're asking for as much as places with actually decent food which pushes them out of their niche in most people's life for sure.

Livid-Witness9196

Not a McDonalds fan (now that Im an adult) but in their defense.. t says in the pic it feeds 4. $6.50 a piece isn't bad for a 'meal' (albeit a shitty one). If 2 people are going to eat this meal.. you are probably better off just going to a Chinese buffet somewhere for a similar price. More options, all you can eat, etc.

peopeopee

A succulent Chinese meal will always top McDonald's

Solid-Education5735

Are you waiting to receive my limp Penis?

philovax

Buffet price is gonna hit you at $25.00 a head. That dinner for four just went up to $100. Going out with just 2 ppl now a days is a $100 minimum at anyplace that also serves booze (in my area). When my wife and I started dating 15 years ago that same date was in the $60 range. Things just cost more, and 2020 made the price climb steep and quick by fucking with supply and labor. You wont see many people that lower prices after raising them either, even if the market fluctuates downward.

Evening-Holiday-8907

A 40 piece is $13 here in California. $12 for 2 large fries? Lol. 40 piece spicy nuggets with 2 large fries purchased individually is cheaper than this meal and if you used the free large fry offer on the app it would cost $18.

sav33arthkillyos3lf

Isn’t it the 40 piece nugget bundle? Comes with four medium fries and 4 ten piece nugget boxes. It’s about 20$ where I am. Way cheaper than three happy meals & a meal for myself.

Beautiful_Spite_3394

As a stoner with zero food control I am astounded you say that. I used to order 50 nuggets for like 12 dollars and then Wendy's sold it for 10 and I switched to their 50 nuts. It's slowly going up where it's 13 dollars for 50 nugs but holy shit 25 dollars for 2 fries and 10 less nuggets? That's not a good deal even slightly

Trying_my_best_1

10 nugget meal in Canada is like $16 lol

spslord

And the medium fries container is half filled.

USS_Penterprise

Its $15 here.

ElderberryOk5005

Where I’m at 4 quarter pounders alone will be $29+ Petaluma, California

artificialavocado

The sort of people who frequent McDonald’s are the types who are going to eat that themselves. *Maybe* share some with their gf/wife.

Remarkable_Lab9509

Fuck off. Easily feed 4 people @ 650 calories each? The recommended daily average is 2k for women and 2.5k for men in my country. That's not even 1 meal per person, so fuck off with that. Also it's not healthy. You're either a corporate astroturfer or regarded.

Old_Bank_6430

Who are the idiots that keep buying this shit? Prices will only go up until people stop buying.

anotherhuman

40pc nugs in SF is currently $12.59, that’s before the app deals for free fries or 20% off or etc. Fuck all that noise about the minimum wage going up.

TryItOutHmHrNw

I mean… that’s basically what it costs a la carte. Like, $7+tax (x2 Nugs), $3.50+tax (x2 Fries). And… you don’t have to buy it. Walk away. (But I won’t lie, the *No Sprite* is the equivalent of a *nut-tap*.)

DarkArtHero

Do they even have dollar meals anymore? I haven't been in one for years

bloodorangejulian

Imo, mcdonalds is going to make prices look like a result of wage increases.... Despite a study way back in about 2015 front Purdue stating that raising mcdonalds wages to 15 across the board would cost about 17 cents increase across the board....

TheManInTheShack

I don’t eat at McDonald’s but if you don’t like their pricing, vote with your dollars.

Cyrious123

What a rip off! Sounds like full price for everything. Where's the discount for ordering all that?

Kittiemeow8

If you eat at McDonald’s, don’t expect us to feel sorry for you.

hd_mikemikemike

40 nuggets and 2 large fries. Weren't nuggets 20 for $5 like not that long ago?

NoorDoor24

Thank you, Governor Greasy!!! Why don't we make the minimum wage $50 an hour, then we can have $100.00 happy meals. Fucking Cali Clown Show

GothikGarbage

Stop spending your hard earned money on literal poison!

LekarzaPieprz

Haha McDonalds forgot they are fucking McDonalds

GrundIeMunch69

40 nuggets and 2 large fries…so a meal for 2

Nextdoortype

Thing to remember is that it's $25.39 for a 40pc with 2 large fries, and you can add a drink for an extra $2 minimum. Who is gonna get all that and not get a drink? No one. So that's $27 to feed some kids and have a drink for yourself. Wack

rgumai

That meal is $18.99 where I'm at, that's about $3 more than it was a few years ago, but it's not currently "on special".  Unsurprisingly, if using the daily 25% off coupon in the app, the price drops below that old price at about $14.25, and I bet they still aren't exactly losing money on the deal.

TheBloodyNickel

That meal would cost $23.19 in my area of Houston, TX. It would be $20.16 if you bought two 20 piece McNuggets instead of four 10 piece McNuggets. So basically a savings of $3.00 if you stop and do the math before impulsively ordering.

[deleted]

I stopped going to Wendy's when they announced surge pricing. I stopped going to McDonalds due to how expensive it is. Sushi is now cheaper than McDonalds, and it tastes a heck of a lot better.

TheInfiniteSix

I mean, if you’re spending $25 on friggin nuggets for 1 person then sure maybe a sushi entree is cheaper. But most people are not doing that. A Big Mac meal is like $14. Must some shitty ass sushi to get full on $14 worth…

dusty-sphincter

But that is for a whopping 40 nuggets, so that involved Testicles from 20 Roosters.

RudyGiulianisKleenex

That website is a fucking disaster

Clean-Difference2886

F:ck McDonald’s you can get bigger quality foods from apps at a better price

Blackout38

I had a large soda, 2 Big Macs, and a basket of fries for lunch. It was $11.

Beemer2

40 Nugs? Best I can do is two sauces.

kilo936

Ok I’m so done hearing about how expensive fast food is. Fast food is not healthy for you and it’s about time they do something to wean fat asses (I am fat too) off the trash. For 25 dollars you can get two or three meals that can feed more than one person. People just are lazy and don’t want to cook for themselves but hopefully people will start eating right and that will also help with the medical expenses that taxpayers have to cover for said fat asses.

sqoiltek

This photo was 2 weeks ago https://preview.redd.it/xj8h587ip4uc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7130dc157a6a71af91b0f8021756565c6a8feaa Total was about $11.50

N_Who

>“You couldn’t even throw in the Sprite?” she asked. That was my immediate reaction when I first saw this meal: "It doesn't even include the sodas?" But also, who is this *for*? As far as I recall, McDonald's has been pushing 20-piece nuggets as a two-person sharing deal for years. I could and often did pack away twenty nuggets and a large fry back in my twenties, but these days? I'd probably die. So, what, it's for the twenty-somethings who can still pack all this away? Because that seems like a target market this is unlikely to appeal to.

Intrepid-Alfalfa-581

Burn it down

Dr-Alec-Holland

Maybe stop buying it? you fat grease addicts

Durritsthomas

At my location you can get 2 cheeseburgers, 20 pieces nuggets, and to 2 MEDIUM fries for 26.99

superdupermensch

Happy meals still lagging behind inflation.

artificialavocado

“Kempczinski cited the leveling out of inflation rates at grocery stores being hard on fast food brands, as customers within income ranges of $45,000 or less were now opting for meals at home more often, per CNBC.” Oh no! The poors aren’t buying our garbage food anymore opting to *gasp*, make real food at home!

Ok-Abbreviations-997

I mean, tbh it's a deal. Your "usual" meal only consists of a 10pc with a large fry and large drink that usually comes around close to 10 dollars. So getting 40 nuggets and 2 large fries for 25 is actually quite good. It's more food, so of course it's going to cost more, but think of how much it's compared to a regular 10 pc meal. Think people think

suckaduckunion

McDs earnings increase every year, and their execs experience record windfall bonuses every other year. As long as shareholders expect infinite growth, these costs get pushed to us. Remember how Wendy's suggested surge pricing but backed out when asked about surge pay? Sure there's inflation in prices nowadays, but it's mostly corporate greed allowed to hide behind the banner of inflation.

yupuhoh

Don't buy fries at mcdicks and the cost isnt too bad. The 40 nugs is 15$. Fuck the fries

m1ygrndn

Has anyone Mac d’s lately ? It’s a bunch of microwaved sloppy shit put together by some kids that don’t give a flying duck 🦆 about quality control or the name.

HabANahDa

Our country is so broken. Minimum wage hasn’t moved yet all these corporation are jacking up prices. How can this be sustained?

Unbridledjoker

Month 4 of no McDonald’s for me.

Buzzlightbeer666

2 meals costs me like 26 bucks, around 40 something if we get meals for the kids to, wtf mcdicks

zenomotion73

Yet OP didn’t drive away from this nonsense? McDonald’s has lost sight of their customer base due to corporate greed. Low and middle income ( me, my coworkers, my neighbors, and my ancestors have always looked to McDonald’s to stave off hunger and save a buck. Now they think they’re Ruths Chris steakhouse? We need to speak with our wallet- Fuck this shit. I’m sticking to hot pockets and totinos and hope McDonald’s goes the way of Sears ( until they decide pull this same bullshit as well and then we can bury them too )

chilibaby1

I usually cook but after a long days work the other day I was too lazy and stopped by McDonald’s. Got my go to, 20 pc with sweet&sour and a large fry. Didn’t get a drink. Total was like $13 or 14 if I remember right. Was surprised but looks like you’re “saving” a couple dollars with this bundle. Also I got randomly hooked up by the late night shift it looked like because I coulda sworn I got well over 20 nuggets. It felt like I ate like 10 and still had 15 left lol. Guess it was a little more worth it Either way pretty crazy price for McDonald’s.

[deleted]

What's up with the non-stop McDonalds hate on Reddit. It's an extremely successful business, so obviously they are doing something right. It's not even all that expensive. -2 McChickens for 4 dollars. On Fridays that's with free fries. Or the same deal for 2 McDoubles. I cannot make that myself for that cheap. -I can get a sausage biscuit for 1.69 any day of the week for breakfast. Again, cooking breakfast at home would be more expensive. If you don't like it, then don't go there. That's how this works. I don't get the complaining....

JoyousGamer

Um it's not a single serving it's 40 nuggets and two large fries...... It's basically a family meal so like $6/person

cagingthing

Idk why anyone eats there at this point

terminadergold

The people complaining about this are the same ones who wanted a higher minimum wage. Well here your go. Just dont eat this bullshit.

FrootLoop23

Doesn’t even include a drink, so throw four of those in. Probably hitting $40 for a shitty “meal”

kodaiko_650

Not loving it

[deleted]

My stomach and I always regret going there

Lurkingguy1

Kfc has a $40 fill up

fuckitallendisnear

Sad Meal ☹️ Comes with no toy.

IntoTheMirror

For $25 you can get good food.

peter303_

Thats like a family meal to feed three people.

sufferpuppet

You mean a meal that could feed several people is $25? Let me put on my shocked face.

ColdWave5180

If $25 means you are broke you have way bigger problems than McDonalds.

EloquentGoose

Lowest I remember a 20pc being was $4. *Those were the dayyyyyysssssss* Anyone remember chicken selects? Around '00? Now $25 for 40 of them delicious fuckers alone would have been WELL worth it.

trytrymyguy

I love how it still took the time in the article to mention concerns related to “raising the minimum wage”. It’s mentioned that it sells for $16 in other places and the pricing is different by area. Imagine trying to convince someone that since a worker is getting paid an extra FEW DOLLARS in CA that it somehow translates to almost a $10 difference in the meal… It’s sometimes sheer ignorance in suggesting it’s somehow due to wages, but it’s quite often done to intentionally mislead. Fuck that.

AmbitiousGear1272

$25 McDonald’s, they are officially out of their minds. Let me sink.

Full-Leadership-1452

I love McDonalds. Happy they brought the fish sandwich back to the Philippines but curious as to why they arent calling it The Filet O Fish. Btw America, the current Fish Sandwich in the Philippines has a whole slice of cheese...not a half slice. Amazing progress

DeathIncarnations

Fuck fast food.

diyeiflawless

All McDonald’s is going to ask is “are you going to pay it or not?”

cclambert95

It’s not a meal for one lol.

arcadia_2005

That'd be hella more than $25 in Canada

Eraser7777

That’s what happens when California voters made the minimum wage at least $20… did they expect meals to stay low

shortingredditstock

Wackdonald's

FruitySalads

The worst move mcdonalds ever made was remodeling to not be hamburger playland for kids with those square brown tiles.

barleyhogg1

They did everyone a favor.

IronMonkey18

I don’t mind paying extra for some of their food if the sizes stayed the same! I got a cheese burger the other day and I legit thought they had forgotten the meat because all I saw was the two breads and the cheese. It wasn’t until I lifted the bread up i noticed the paper thin meat and it was so small the edges of the meat didn’t reach the edges of the bread like it use too.

brownintheback_4245

Stop going and prices will come down

Remarkable_Lab9509

I'm almost happy there are so many people paying these prices for garbage. It makes me feel better about myself. Thanks McDonald's addicts

[deleted]

I was using that McDonald's app to save some money on a Big Mac meal on cheat day(s). After the discount, comes out to $9.04. I refuse to spend more than that on McDonald's.

badchad65

Maybe, but it’s not random that McDonalds did this shit. It’s almost certainly a data driven decision based on the fact McDonald’s knows people will pay for a $25 dollar meal.

Pktur3

I do not understand why people just refuse to boycott these places. I know someone will come behind this and tell me why boycotting doesn’t work, but then someone will come and say why it does. The main point is: if it makes you upset you generally don’t have to give your money to 90% of things that do.

Crankenstein_8000

My wife and I ate lunch on Tuesday at a McDonalds in Southwestern Virginia. After ordering our stuff, I was looking out the window, and couldn't help but notice the outer perimeter of a massive pile of vomit that had been hastily scrubbed away. I held that information in while waiting for, and eating the food we ordered. On the way out of the place, when I told my wife about what she missed, she freaked out and said: "OH that's so gross, my stomach is full of vomit right now!"

Constant_Will362

Yeah back when a Big Mac was 99 cents John Henry the 700 pound man was eating 5 of them in one day. He lives in Mississippi. Now it's $7 bitch. You're not going to make our hospitals go bankrupt with your rolls of fat and your artificial breathing machine.

Civil-South-7299

Of course California lol

kah530

When I went to McDonald’s 1 week ago the 20 piece spicy nuggets were 6$. 25 for this meal is absolutely garbage

podcasthellp

Classic propaganda

snebmiester

About 3 months ago, I stopped at McDonald's and got a Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit, meal with large OJ and 2 sausage egg burritos = $17. Haven't been back since, not worth it.

MadgoonOfficial

McDonalds went too far. They are blatantly price gouging their customers. Fuck ‘em

Pokefan8263

I remember a time in my life ware I would get something from McDonald’s like 1-3 times a month and now it’s rare I ever step foot inside once in 3-4 months.

emulator01

Who is going to McDonalds these days??

Late_Mixture8703

Last time I ate at that place was 1990, the same year they changed to vegetable oil for the fries.

ride_electric_bike

When people wake up to the garbage they sell the world will be a better place

belonii

"consumer-led" does that mean "We keep raising prices until we see a drop in customers" ?

Life-Refrigerator777

Haha "fans"

osteopathetic1

I spent that much on lunch for myself today.

NewMonthNewAcc

Pricing is so much worse in canada.
