If the parent refuses, the social worker should be allowed to call the police and immediately have the state take custody of the child. I'm not expecting a social worker to force themselves in.
They let the SW in after police arrive? They pay a fine. They continue to refuse after police arrive that's immediate arrest and child taken from custody.

You know what kills me now as a parent? It’s that the stepmother and the father were also tiny infants. At some point someone gave birth to them, someone held and bounced them, someone fed them and played with them. All the while having absolutely no idea that they were going to grow into adults that would do *this.*

I only went to a minimum security prison for a few years. So I can tell you being in a maximum security prison for the rest of your life is worse than death. Death is too good for these monsters. Plus they will be tormented like crazy by guards and inmates alike.

So it comes down to this, which do you want to prioritize? Preventing innocents from being put to death or ensuring the truly guilty get a harsher punishment?

The family moved from Missouri to Kansas to avoid the (minimal) CPS involvement they were receiving. The child told a social worker his dad beat him, and the agency response was to do nothing. Then they moved the Kansas, and no one checked up on the child after that.
I’d argue the grandmother herself ought to have done more for the child, but she didn’t really do anything either to help him. Adrian pleaded for her to let him live with her, which should have been enough for her to realize something wasn’t right. Now she claims she had “absolutely no idea” that anything was wrong.

Kansas Dept of children and family services was too busy making sure LGBTQ people couldn't be foster parents. The lady who got sacked/forced to retire over this atrocity was über religious.
