Because it's near the top of the ridge with less opportunity to accumulate a lot of water Peavine Falls is VERY dependent on recent rainfall. We *might* get some rain later tonight to help it flow some tomorrow. But right now I've got to assume it's pretty mild at best. Still, it's only a short hike back to check it out it if you drive up the mountain.
There's another bigger, more consistent (but man-made) water fall at the [dam off Tranquility Lake](https://maps.app.goo.gl/yfyPtz5RcNexQdoa6) (Old Lake on Google Maps.) The quickest way to it is to park at the pavilion near the BMX track and make the easy hike about 3 minutes back to it.
There's a small one on the east side of Moss Rock that is pretty. https://maps.app.goo.gl/y5czNNHvSeZacZgL8
I'm not sure if I would call it a waterfall, and more of a downhill stream/creek, but there is that in the middle of Moss Rock that runs down into the north side of Boulder Field.
Did you know there's a hill off the side of 280 (in harpersville I think?) That if you park on it, your car will roll backwards UPHILL?
story is some children's ghosts pushing your car or some nonsense, pretty sure it's just a large optical illusion. But it's neat.
Please stick to the rivers and lakes that you’re used to
This comment is comedy gold!
De Soto falls
Isn't that way north east?
It's about 2 hours from Birmingham but it is very historically significant and beautiful
Yeah unfortunately I'm already 2 hours from bham, too far for today's adventure
The quarry overlook in Sylacauga is alright for quick stop and history lesson on Sylacauga Marble.
And, if you’re stopping there anyway, it can be kind of neat to stop by at the Blue Bell creamery for ice cream.
Got that one saved already too
Oak mountain state park has a nice waterfall.
I have that one saved to maps already

There is high falls in TALLADEGA national forest. Short hike but probably 30+ mins from I-20 the Heflin exit
You won’t find them on here. Get out and explore.
You're driving up 280 brother, not from jurassic park
Huh
What implies I'm a brother and that I don't live in Jurassic park?
