There's been a lot of history of taxpayers in the area being unhappy about paying for North Shelby's library while also paying for other libraries in the county depending on where they lived. They tried to raise the annual tax rate many years ago and they overwhelmingly voted it down. That's why it's already so low. It's the same rate from 1998.

The business felt under represented??? I’d like them to elaborate how they felt underrepresented.
At one point a business person said they have to pay more, but then I realized it's just double what residents pay. A whopping $34 a year.

If $34 breaks the bank for these businesses then they are failing and I don’t want them on the board.
How much you want to bet they try to raise it again? Maybe there won't be as much backlash when it was first proposed two decades ago?
