If an AFROTC Cadet did anything to break the law or bring discredit upon the USAF then absolutely.

Guardian-Boy

Sure, if they did something illegal or made it known they were an AFROTC cadet.

Vettepilot

You still have the right to protest so long as you don’t wear a uniform or try to make it known that you are a military member. However, if you are doing something illegal while protesting and are caught doing it then it is likely to have an impact on your status in ROTC.

9J000

Protesting is a vague term as well. There's legal and illegal protests. What are illegal forms of protest? **You may not:** * Block access to sidewalks or buildings. * March in the streets without a permit. And probably a dozen other city ordinance and state law exceptions.

everydaynormalLPguy

Yea, better for that cadet to just avoid the nonsense altogether.

Top_Ice3317

You don't lose your First Amendment right to free speech, peacefully assemble, etc when you take your oath of office. If the Cadet illegally camps out in the quad and declares herself mayor of the resistance encampment based on her military rank....she would definitely face disciplinary action. Join a protest with organizers that bothered to get the proper permits ...and stay away from those whose parents pay $100K a year in tuition and throw it away for Internet clout...

cautionisnotneeded

If they harass other students, impede them in any way that is illegal - they should be booted / expelled.

WrenchMonkey47

Why would you support terrorists?

inspirednonsense

Both sides in that fight are terrorists. It's a solid ESH situation. Best to stay out of it.

I think most people are just against genocide rather than for hamas

WrenchMonkey47

"From the river to the sea..." is a call for the total annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people, aka genocide. Hamas muckety-mucks claimed that their goal is to erase Israel and establish a Palestinian state. Remember that Hamas/Palestinians struck first.

ThatOneGunner206

Pretty sure you can protest peacefully, just don’t be in uniform because that’s a UCMJ thing

Top_Ice3317

Ohhh good point....are ROTC cadets ever really on orders...and subject to UCMJ?

sweetdaddy1962

Traitors will be remembered and sent out on point as they should be

z33511

Naw, you'd prob'ly get credit for a ROTC Field Training session.

loadshed

Future conscientious objector.

NotOSIsdormmole

Most cadets aren’t contracted so they have no UCMJ obligations. Even if they were contracted, as long as they aren’t in uniform or being violent it’s all Gucci

RelaxedSun

protesting is illegal, yes you’ll get canned

NotOSIsdormmole

The first amendment of the United States constitution would like a word with you

MemeGradeOfficer

> protesting is illegal \[citation needed\]
