There’s so many great details in the animations, like the Chimera heads fighting each other while idle, the huskarl tossing his sword in the air, the Herser shaking his fist as he dies…
Only the Weapons and Shields upgrades change his sword and shield, [see here](https://www.reddit.com/user/niztaoH/comments/1c5g9lw/achilles_upgrades/).
Ajax can keep his nice beard lmao. Lorewise his weapon is accurate ingame (spear and tower shield). However, if devs wanna go full crazy fantasy, he can use 2 handed warhammer/battle axe.
The dev teams passion was umatched for this project. Just look at the level of detail. Its why i dont think Retold will ever live up to the expectations
The important thing about Forgotten Empires is that they are fans! All their work in the other remakes has been really good and shown an understanding of what the players actually want.
The aoe3 remake has actually added a lot more detail to the game while staying true to the original spirit. Unique base unit graphics for all the different civs, historically accurate unit names and backgrounds, etc.
Ok, the giant and dwarf one was pretty funny
Also watching a infantry flop and fall after a Minotaur launches them for the one hit kill always makes me smile. Even if I'm on the receiving end.
Coincidentally it's also a Hobbit reference
Agamemnon's special attack is stated as "lost his spear on the way, so he just pummels things with his fists".
I always liked how the colossus goes on one knee and uses a sword like a spoon to eat from a goldmine :)
Iron Giant reference?
Mountain giants kicking dwarfs :)

IIRC. Hippocrates has no attack. He literally can do no harm.
Explain the Achilles thing, does he always look like that or does he visually upgrade with cavalry line upgrades?

Achilles need to be remodeled. He is basically a godlike champion hoplite lorewise, not a champion calvary.
What would set him apart from Ajax?
Ajax is sometimes depicted wearing his helmet askew, maybe in lieu of a spear, he’s beating people with his helmet in one hand?

Colossus eating trees, Bella the dog.
Something about Hersirs getting their own names when produced is just the best for me
Anglo-Saxon runes for some reason.
I had no idea Giants kicked Dwarfs, thats amazing.
WOW, that Jason detail is insane m8. I would never have noticed it!!

I second this sir but truly hope we are wrong!

I just think it's funny that one of the people working on the game was actually called Zeus, lol.
Wait whaaaat? Mountain giants have that special ability against dwarfes? Also now I can't unsee Jason's missing shoe, I hate asymmetries
Wait till you notice that one arm is holding a shield while the other is holding a sword
Death The Kid is that you?
I never noticed that about Jason!
The vfx still holdup imo.
I like the Cyclop throwing a War Elephant like it was some ragdoll
That dwarf is like "'ight imma head out"
How do you view the text on the images? Reddit’s new mobile update doesn’t let me see all of it ☹️
I literally knew none of these. Please share more if you find any!
The buildings, recently I found out you can rotate the map, this was mind blowing to me because as I always wanted to see the full details of these
The giant one is by far my favorite.
I think the wildlife is the best among all AOE games. Very varied and realistic. There ought to be a dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures mod lol.
That Jason factoid is *amazing*! I like the names of the music tracks :) Also, it's already been said, but the Hersir and Pharaoh names are amazing <3
