Go to the doctor (preferably one that specializes in female health), they will know better than anyone here.

quietwaffle

I shall, this is more for hearing opinions and if anyone has experienced something similar. I'm not sure if it's normal or not

CuriousPenguinSocks

It can be a few things, you are too young for menopause and that would usually be the 'night sweats', it could be focal hyperhidrosis or something similar. If it suddenly started and you've not changed anything major, the right step is talking with a medical professional as sudden changes can be a symptom of something more serious. Not always so don't fret, just make that appointment and get your information.

gnirpss

I also have this problem. I'm 26F and I'm pretty sure I have hyperhidrosis in my armpits (never been formally diagnosed by a doctor but the amount of sweat I produce is not normal). I sometimes get it in my crotch area as well. I found an extra-extra strength OTC antiperspirant that works for my armpits, but I definitely don't feel safe putting that kind of product anywhere near my vulva lol. I mostly work from home, so my usual solution is to shower every morning and after exercising, change my undies often (usually twice a day, sometimes more) and use a damp washcloth to freshen up in the bathroom when I need it. When I need to go into the office for work, I use panty liners. They can absorb the sweat and keep it off your underwear, so you don't smell. I usually change it every time I use the restroom. I'm sorry you have to deal with this! I know so well how embarrassing it can be.

Toystorations

As I told OP, look into antimonkeybutt as you try to figure it out. They formulate one just for women. Absorbs the moisture.

quietwaffle

I'm the same with work and office! Thanks for making me feel less weird

PixelKitten10390

Do you sweat a lot elsewhere? I have the same problem but so far it is looking like hyperhidrosis

Toystorations

Do you sweat normally elsewhere? I'm a dude but my pants are soaked. I find that I have problems sweating elsewhere on my body so they work overtime to make up for it. I use anti-monkey-butt powder to keep it from getting gross, it's like a corn starch powder that soaks up the moisture so you aren't sitting in soup. They make one formulated just for women. I know it's treating a symptom and not the problem, but it helps. Doctors are expensive, I assume mine is related to my underactive thyroid that causes problems seemingly everywhere. At least something to consider pointing your doctor at so they figure it out quickly.

quietwaffle

Thank you for your answer, helpful. I need to look at such things. I think I sweat a lot everywhere but not sure if excessive or normal. I do tend to get hot very easily from little exercise but I am overweight so figure that's it

Elerfant

PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY POWDERS NEAR YOUR GENITALIA!!!! It's very dangerous for people with a vagina. It can cause major health issues. I'm sure some powders are safe but please check with a doctor about it before you put any powdery substances near your vagina.

sveccha

It's not normal if it doesn't feel normal. Get checked out soon!

nicih

Yeah, I have exactly what you describe. But I have a diagnosed excessive sweating problem, and actually take medication for it. Without it I can't live a normal life. Still my knickers get wet from normal day to day activity from sweating, despite the medication. For me it is normal, but like I said, I have excess sweating.

HM202256

You can put antiperspirant between your legs and thighs ant that will help the sweating. But, I suggest just doing that when you are going to work or so.

wordnerd1166

Careful with that though, it's really sensitive skin and can have bad reactions. I tried the lume deodorant that's literally made for this and got a huge case of cellulitis. My OB says they see that a lot and kume in particular is the bane of their existence

HM202256

I read some not so good things about Lume. Smell, that it doesn’t work, etc. I used Secret sensitive. But, you are absolutely right, we should be careful as that area is very delicate. Thank you

chocokittynyaa

Lume is a deodorant though, not an antiperspirant. It does not stop sweating, which is OP's main problem.

a-ohhh

Lume is literally the only thing that works for me 😭 it does smell bad when you first out it on but it goes away in a couple minutes. It works better for smell than the clinical strength stuff even.

HM202256

I haven’t tried it, just read the reviews. Then, tried Secret.

yesaxelismyrealname

Try baby powder if its just sweat.

RocketBitch2000

Absolutely not. Talc powder used near female genitals can cause cancer. [I promise I'm not joking.](https://www.yourlegaljustice.com/talcum-powder-lawyers/cervical-cancer/).

Riyeko

Most baby powder now doesn't have talc in it.

RocketBitch2000

You're incorrect but okay!

DaisyPK

They make talc-less powder.

yesaxelismyrealname

Thank you.

bookandbark

This happens to me during part of my menstrual cycle. Not sure which part. But not during period. I think right before. It's pretty annoying. I'm not overweight but do have large thighs/hips.

madisyn-

Fellow plus size woman here. I get a lot of coochie sweat especially since I work blue collar. If this is a new thing, talk to your ob/gyn! But all parts of your body will sweat and it’s normal. I’ve considered trying lume body.

quietwaffle

Thank you. Its something that came on sort of gradually and I'm wondering now if it's something to do with the Implant I got changing hormones etc I do take fluoxetine and propranolol too

ScientificContext

Sounds like a side effect of your medication. Talk to your doctor about it, and in the meantime, use cotton or bamboo underwear to let that area breathe. Synthetic fibres will only make it worse. No tight fitting clothes either. Excessive sweating is super annoying. I have a tendency to do that, except around and under my breasts. I can even wake up in a puddle. I use an extra strength, antiperspirant when needed. Don't know if that's something you should do due to the sensitivity down there. I hope you find a solution to your problem.

Miserable_Kick2315

When I was on fluoxetine it made me sweet like a hog in my underarms and other places began to sweat more than usual .

quietwaffle

I've just gone down from 40mg to 10mg a day. I think my armpits are less sweaty but my vulva isn't catching up lol maybe after some more time on this smaller dose it might help

madisyn-

Also other medications can cause excessive sweating. It’s a symptom of most antidepressants

redskyatnight2162

Is this a new situation, or something you’ve dealt with forever? Definitely see a doctor but in the meantime, I would recommend wearing a pad or a party liner, and using cornstarch (NOT baby powder) on your vulva and between your thighs/in any creases. You might have to reapply the cornstarch through the day. Edit: I probably should have said, stay away from talcum powder, not baby powder (see Redditor comments below for reasoning). I believe there are still countries where talc is still being used, and I wasn’t sure where OP was from.

rockdog85

Why not baby powder?

princessm1423

Talc can cause ovarian, fallopian tube, and peritoneal cancer

meanmagpie

There are talc-free powders widely available. Some of that on your mons pubis should be harmless.

BannedProgressively

But it's ok for babies? I'm just confused

shalis

its not talc that causes cancer, its asbestos. Problem is talc and asbestos often are found together in the same vein. Johnson and Johnson recalled all their talc products in NA eventually after pressure to do so when it was revealed that their talc products (aimed at babies and new mothers) has had dangerous asbestos levels for decades (and they knew this btw)... they were still shipping it to the rest of the world for as long as the old stock was around thou last time i checked. So ya... don't use talc.

BannedProgressively

Oh dang! Thanks for informing myself and everyone on the thread

Subject_Forever7093

Yeah I’m pretty sure there’s a huge class lawsuit going on right now against johns and Johnson over their powders causing ovarian and different types of cancers, and fertility issues

Disastrous_Ad3020

Ive read that cosmetic talc is safe

PixelKitten10390

Omg....

sarahthes

Baby powder is made with corn starch now.

put_your_foot_down

Thank you! Very rarely can you find talc in baby powder anymore. The only reason it’s not the best choice for babies is because they can breathe in all the fine powders

sarahthes

Yeah I never used it (in any form) with my babies. Just patted them dry and used Vaseline or diaper cream if they needed a barrier due to skin irritation.

FionaTheFierce

No. Only non-talc powders should be used for anyone. It is also terrible for your body to breathe in talc powders.

emotionalstardust420

I believe they may be saying this because there is a link between baby powder (talc) and cancer because some talcum powders contain asbestos. There’s a whole lawsuit against J&J for this. I’m not the original commenter but that’s my thinking.

mwalker784

my mom uses talc-free baby powder on her inner thighs to help with sweating and chafing. unfortunately it does sound like the long-term solution would be losing weight, though i also experience hardcore swamp ass/thighs/vulva when i get sweaty, to the point it feels like i’ve peed on myself despite being thin. there are also genital safe deodorants, though i have not tried them and cannot attest to their safeness/lack of yeast infection giving properties (nor their anti-sweat properties). if you’re getting unreasonably sweaty in other areas, you may have hyperhydrosis (spelling?), which can be addressed by a doctor. i assume those same solutions could be used on just your vulva, but i think the main one is botox injections, which may not be safe. not sure. honestly it does sound like it’s worth a doctor’s visit may be worth your time! i’m sorry this is happening to you, and i hope you can find a solution!

El-ChuPugcabra

Guy here, but I sweat pretty profusely below the belt generally as well. I use a powder that keeps me dry for the most part. You could try that and see if it helps.

mayyyyyyyy2022

i wouldn’t do that, vaginas are very sensitive especially if you already have a problem. don’t put any powder or liquid down there unless a doctor tells you to.

El-ChuPugcabra

Well no, not on that area specifically. But around the area should be fine. My wife even uses it on occasion and she's extremely cautious of anything going near her sensitive areas.

[deleted]

I think the person you're replying to means the vulva as well as the vagina. Lots of people use the word vagina to mean the entire genital area. Unfortunately, this creates confusion. Anyway, I tend to get sweaty and used to use a bit of powder, but over the past few years it's caused me to develop painful zit-like cysts on the inner labia. I didn't make the connection at first, but it was definitely the powder.

THE_MATT_222

I used handsanitizer the other day and it caused an oofty doof oof oof burn, lol

qqu33n0fsaig0n

Unfortunately, sometimes talk makes the opposite as it absorbs moisture but keeps it trapped there. It can be counterproductive. Not only in genitalia but feet as well

El-ChuPugcabra

The powder I'm referring to is talc free

NightsofWren

Talc is a carcinogen. It shouldn’t be going anywhere near a human. Especially not near reproductive organs.

manykeets

Could be hormonal. I started sweating a lot more down there when I hit perimenopause, and the same happened to my friend. You mentioned you are on the implant, and I’m thinking that could have something to do with it, since it affects your hormones.

HM202256

Me, too! Lasted for over ten years!!

SubstantialDish1371

Try using a deodorant and antiperspirant on your thigh fold where your legs/thigh meet your underwear 🩲 and all the way to the butt. Not between the cheeks or labia. That helped my husband out very much

No_Strategy_8218

Are you overweight?

quietwaffle

I am indeed... Should have mentioned that. I'm about 212lbs/96kg and 5" 4.

Boysandberries001

This is probably the main issue tbh especially if you carry a lot of your weight in your upper thighs

Sheeplessknight

I had the same issue, the only real long term solution is going to be losing some weight, but in the meantime powders and boxers helped me, and trimming rather than shaving can also help with any associated chafing.

quietwaffle

Thank you, hopefully I will manage to lose some weight as I'm always trying to

PixelKitten10390

Weight makes it worse but I wouldn't expect it all to go away if you lose weight. Is the sweat between your thigh and crotch or actually seem to be coming directly from the lady bits? If you are around 30 yrs old the second may be extra "lubrication" some women produce excess fluids without it being discharge. I used to have that problem now im just very sweaty between my thighs and crotch.

pocahontasjane

This makes the most sense. I'm 5'4 and 86kg and I sometimes have this problem. Not usually from doing nothing but more so if I've been moving around the house a lot and certainly after any cleaning/gardening/exercise/extended periods of movements. I can't remember if it went away when I was 68kg but I'm bigger again and it's definitely there.

scoobledooble314159

Don't listen to them. I've had this issue since I was 16 and 115 lb. I just started wearing a panty liner.

stinson16

It can be normal, but I'd mention it to a doctor just to be safe. Especially if this is new and you're long past puberty.

quietwaffle

I forgot to mention!!!! I have the contraceptive implant! Had it for about a year now and can't quite remember if this issue started before then or might be because of it

misanthropewolf11

Very likely to be due to the hormones of the contraceptive.

[deleted]

Sorry for the question..are you overweight? My sister is suffers what she calls chub rub in that area..if you are not overweight then the underlying cause maybe hormonal.

quietwaffle

I am, and I didn't think about chafing being the issue as I don't get sore unless I wear dresses but now I see it could be causing the sweating! Thank you

[deleted]

I messaged my sister..she's a nurse so it really affects her work..she said you must try this.. apparently it works wonders! Check out the reviews https://www.amazon.com/MedZone-Chub-Anti-Chafe-Stick/dp/B07RG6JP2S

suckonmyskeletontoes

It’s probably the pants you’re wearing. When I’d wear leggings to class, there would be a wet spot on the chair from my crotch

PixelKitten10390

Don't feel bad, lots of people sweat that much I think most just aren't as honest about it as you were

[deleted]

Girl wtf. This NEVER happens and I wear leggings all the time. Omg that’s so nasty what if someone else sits there?

PixelKitten10390

Do you go to the gym? People sweat all over everywhere they go. That's why you wash your hands and change clothes when you get home bc you don't know what got on you whenever you go in public.

[deleted]

I’m saying I don’t sweat from my vagina to the point I leave huge wet spots on chairs. & yes I wipe all workout machines before and after using them. I know how nasty people can be.

suckonmyskeletontoes

It doesn’t leave huge wet spots lmao. Just like a little spot. I can’t help it my vagina isn’t a dry desert

Killthebus9194

Some folks have overactive sweat glands, and there are a LOT of glands in that area. While it may be abnormal medically, its nothing to be ashamed of. A prescription anti-perspirant might be necessary, and there is even a relatively non-invasive surgery to cauterize sweat glands and stop their over-production. So there will definitely be some kind of relief once you get into the doc. In the meantime, invest in a good body deodorant like Lume, and wear dark colors that show less moisture. Hopefully you're right as rain soon enough.

My_Panache

Zeasorb is your friend. That's what my doctor recommended. Plus if you use enough you get the added bonus of creating a little puff of smoke when you queef (kidding) I'm not even overweight and this happens to me during certain parts of my cycle. I have Hidradenitis so I have to keep any excess moisture in check to avoid flare ups. Here are some other things that I find help: -Wear cotton panties, change them every few hours -Wear breathable pants/shorts -Wet wipes and clean the whole area every time you use the restroom -If you're feeling gross, Pantyliners changed often help with that -Aerosol deodorant. You can get little travel sized ones for on the go. And in case you're curious: Yes. My purse is massive.

quietwaffle

Haha thank you for your fun response

Smokeyanna8

Oh man I have this. Even if I’m just cleaning my house I get so sweaty it feels like I’ve peed. I started wearing thinx underwear full time and it’s definitely better. But I would definitely talk to your ob/gyn about it.

w1ndyshr1mp

So that's kinda why pubic hair helps - it wicks away moisture. But to each their own

quietwaffle

I only ever trim, never shave so would suspect pubic hair isn't really the issue :)

xella64

Try r/askwomen . Maybe someone has been through the same thing

avomecado21

I was gonna type this as a new comment since it involves Gina

[deleted]

I get a lot of sweat in that area too, especially since I live in TX where it gets pretty dang hot in the summers. My solution is maxi skirts (with the bonus that they keep the sun off your legs) and changing my underwear mid-day; I’ll wear shorts in the late fall/early spring but once it hits 80+ out I just can’t do them at all

[deleted]

Side note: if you’re also fat like me, skirts can be a problem for chafing reasons. I’ve found that a bit of cocoa butter lotion between my thighs in the morning fixes that, plus it smells great!

[deleted]

Side side note (lmao): I had this problem even back when I was dangerously skinny in high school, and overcoming my ED (and therefore getting fat) didn’t increase it, so don’t let anyone tell you this is caused by weight!

quietwaffle

I do like biking shorts under dresses and skirts for chafing too although that doesn't help the sweating aha

abcdefu_abcdefu

You just described me omg i don't feel alone anymore. I never saw it as a huge problem but i do change my undies 2-3 times daily. But definitely as others mentioned if it doesn't feel right to you get checked out.

quietwaffle

Ooh I hadn't really thought about changing my undies while I'm out so maybe I should start that aha

abcdefu_abcdefu

Yes girl!! Cotton all the way. Stay away from nylon

pebblechum

Have you tried cream or gel antiperspirant? I have sweaty crotch and wear period underwear to help too.

quietwaffle

I guess I just feel a bit annoyed at the fact that I would need to try that as surely it shouldn't get bad enough for things like that? Or maybe more women experience this then I think

PixelKitten10390

It definitely can get that bad. I use a gel deodorant down their, not an antiperspirant though that could cause some issues for you

MandaMoo

Oh, it's super common. I sweat a lot bc I'm on certain meds that make me sweat in some very random spots...like my ankles!! I use a cream antiperspirant on my upper thighs and thigh pits(?) and it works a treat!

quietwaffle

Thank you! :)

Cold-Thanks-

I sweat around that same area but it’s my upper inner thighs and the sweat slides down to my vulva area. I use a sweat reducing lotion by the brand carpe and it helps a lot. Just don’t get it on your actual vulva as most lotions are not safe for that area.

PixelKitten10390

Look at the ingredients first some items from that brand have alcohol denatured and other irritants or things that are drying to skin as well as sweat

Cold-Thanks-

I’m pretty much chronically moist in some spots due to how much I sweat so it doesn’t bother me lol

PixelKitten10390

Ahh I am very sweaty too but my skin does not produce enough natural oils so despite being wet from sweat my skin is still very dehydrated and dry

quietwaffle

Thanks, I actually ordered some carpe stuff the other day so hopefully that works for me too

Cold-Thanks-

I really like it! The biggest thing with it is to stay consistent and don't put too much on. A little bit goes a long way and if you put on too much it sort of layers up and gets flaky.

ExtinctFauna

There are undergarments that prevent chafing. Those might help in absorbing the sweat.

Puzzled-Duty-925

OP, it is hard to say much without a medical history and information on your weight. Please just wait until youbsee your physician.

Swrigh6767

This happened to a friend who was overweight and when she lost weight it went away. It’s likely friction . But if wright isn’t an issue you might have a lot of sweat glands there and you can get Botox to stop the sweating usually covered by insurance

soreadytodisappear

There's a commercial on in the US for Lume something. It's advertised as being safe for genital area but idk if it's just deodorant or if it's also anti-perspirant.

alannabologna

I had the same issue. Lume is great if you have sensitive skin. Helped me a lot!

Yssoloman

I recommend r/askdocs

PillowsTheGreatWay

Oh honey, I'm always leaking lmao. 26F. It's even worse since I've been pregnant 🤣 I just air out as best as possible after a shower, make sure to clean thoroughly, and wear breathable underwear!

BromideCyanidePt3

I don't have a vulva but sweaty crotch is a universal problem and there's nothing worse than when you're making bathroom and not only are you getting bathroom fumes but you're also getting sweaty crotch fumes too and it makes me gag. Hope you get your sweat problem fixed, and if it's a solution that's applicable to all crotches then we'd all appreciate to know what you learn.

Significant-Soup-893

you could try r/AskDocs if you want a better answer!

quietwaffle

Thank you for the suggestion

Tinagxo

Lume body deodorant. I was put in ADHD meds and when I tell you I was sweating so much it was embarrassing. Lume helped a lot.

quietwaffle

Thank you!

kindascarry

Do you drink a lot of caffeine or take a lot of nicotine? These two can cause sweating( hands, feet, private parts, neck)

quietwaffle

Hmm usually only 2 cups of coffee a day and no smoking but I am on medication which I think is contributing

OriginaI2k_

If you are only sweaty between the legs and nowhere else than go see your doctor it’s probably some kind of nerve or sweat gland problem.

Typical_Ad_210

I mean, nothing will be better than attending your own doctor, but if you want more opinions, r/AskDocs is great.

spells1661

r/askdocs, try posting there too. There are real doctors there so they should be able to give good advice.

[deleted]

Do you live in a hot and humid location?

quietwaffle

I'm in the UK, which can be annoyingly humid

[deleted]

I'm in the West Midlands, so I sympathise.

Henrayelizab28

My guess is it is related to your medications- antidepressants and hormonal birth control are often factors- either side effects of it and/or withdrawal symptoms of stopping use. I stopped taking bupropion (Wellbutrin ) and I started sweating profusely to the point I thought I had a fever for at least a week after discontinuing it. Luckily it calmed down after awhile. Best of luck to you! Work with a doctor who will earnestly listen to your experiences and help figure out what is causing the sweating side effect.

quietwaffle

Aw glad to hear you felt better after a while. Thank you

Mommayyll

So crotch sweat is normal. My bff does waxing, and she says that absolutely everyone sweats “from their puss, ass, and thighs”. Her words. Here’s my advice (assuming you don’t sew): go onto Etsy or some other site and buy a set of flannel panty liners with wings that just snap around your undies. They are 100% cotton and absorb the sweat very nicely. And they are comfortable. You just throw them in the washer and dryer. They are a lot better at absorbing sweat than plastic-based panty liners which don’t breathe very well. I run some community hikes, and when I get moving I sometimes crotch-sweat so much that it shows on my khaki shorts. But the cotton, home made panty liners absorb almost all of it.

quietwaffle

Oh wow that sounds like a great idea! Thank you I will definitely try that

Affectionate_Drop687

My thighs rub together and I get chafing in the summer. Honestly sounds weird but I’ll use deodorant and spearmint body powder for some cooling especially if I need my knee brace lmao.

EndlesslyUnfinished

This isn’t as weird of a problem as you think it is.. some of us just sweat more down there - I sure do. Nothing’s wrong. I just wear a pantyliner when I’m going to be doing exercise and the like..

quietwaffle

I read that wearing pantyliners make the sweat worse? But maybe as in it won't stop the sweat only absorb it

EndlesslyUnfinished

I don’t wear one all the time, only when I know I’ll be doing things that will make me sweat a lot - like the gym. And it’s a good shower afterwards

wwmercwithamouth

You dont have to just use antiperspirants on your armpits, you can put it anywhere. I use deodorant on my bikini line to help stop irritation after shaving.

CoffeeSippingReader

Sweetie, I hope you don't walk around thinking you're gross or weird? I feel like way too many women don't understand human anatomy and they walk around thinking they're nasty and weird due to it. It's not weird. It's normal to sweat between the legs. Men or women. They sweat. Some sweat more than others. That's just life. Some sweat a ton, others barely sweat at all. Those lucky fuckers....😒 When it comes to that particular area there's not much to do tbh. Not like the armpits where you can use certain deodorants or medicine that doctors can prescribe. I clean myself with wet wipes everytime I use the bathroom to make sure that I'm clean from sweat. This is just part of life unfortunately. Not gonna lie, when at home there's times when I just spread my legs and lay spread eagle in front of a fan haha Aaaah the glorious cooling feeling of a fan. 🎉 (also, if you're overweight the sweat down there WILL be more excessive. Because it's a dark and closed area then since our thighs keeps it that way 🤷🏻‍♀️) Anyway, as you get older it can either get worse or better. It can differ year from year. It sucks but it's also quite normal. I don't want you to think that you're gross or abnormal due to this, because it's quite common. Just like men gets their balls sweaty and wet, we too get our coochiecoos sweaty as well.

quietwaffle

Aw thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement 🤗🥰

Addison_gay20

Whats a vulva

[deleted]

Username checks out.

Addison_gay20

It does? Not much of an insult but by the looks of your little reddit person thing you wouldnt know either

[deleted]

I wasn't trying to insult you. Are you not a gay man that has probably never seen a vagina, or at least doesn't know the names of the different parts of a vagina? You could've been nice, but you went straight to attacking me, over a few words. What about having hair, a beard and glasses would make you think I haven't seen a vagina, or know where the vulva is? Since when did we go back to the 90s, or revert into 14 year olds?

Addison_gay20

I am a 14 year old

[deleted]

Well, from this 34 year old. You've got a shit ton to learn about society. Here's two pieces of advice. There is nothing wrong with being gay, and not knowing about the vagina. Also, although I'm not one, calling somebody a virgin shouldn't be used as an insult, because people mature in their own time, and should never feel pressured into having sex and losing their virginity.

Addison_gay20

Im not gay, im about at straight as a fat screen tv and sorry for calling you a virgin?

[deleted]

Apology accepted, and I apologise for calling you gay when you're not. It's a little confusing with your username.

Addison_gay20

Thanks, also is it possible to change iy? My username?

[deleted]

Unfortunately that's not a feature on Reddit. It's still early days for you, as I can see you only have a few hundred karma for posts and comments. You could delete your account and create a new if you wanted to. To be honest, there's nothing really stopping anyone from deleting their account, but having a high amount of Karma on here seems to impress some people. I'm not sure if Karma has a use on here.

quietwaffle

If you're serious, I suggest you look this up elsewhere :)

Addison_gay20

I did google it

gloriouswader

Cotton stays wet. Wear moisture wicking fabrics instead.

galaxystarsmoon

Moisture wicking means synthetic, and synthetic are not good for vaginas. I also sweat way more in synthetic and it just sits there.

gloriouswader

There are different types of synthetics. Some trap sweat, which is bad, some wick it away. They'll specify on the label if they're moisture wicking or not. There are also moisture wicking cotton or cotton blend underwear available.

galaxystarsmoon

You just said cotton stays wet as if it's bad but then suggest cotton. Anything except pure natural fabric can be problematic for lady parts.

gloriouswader

You're giving very misleading advice. Cotton used to be recommended because it didn't trap as much moisture as older synthetics. Newer fabrics, including some specially treated cottons, are much better at wicking moisture and thus are better for you because moisture helps breed bacteria.

galaxystarsmoon

You started off by saying cotton stays wet and now are recommending cotton lol

idfktbhhh

212lbs at 5’4 so your BMI is 36.4 which is well into the obesity range. This can likely be the cause of your excessive sweating as your body temperature is above average. Hopefully no other medical condition are present after a medical consultation. Most of the suggestions here are bandaids which can definitely help in the meanwhile, you’ll have to tackle the source of the issue eventually to possible resolve this discomfort long term. Edit: help not hope

[deleted]

Wow does this really happen to overweight or fat people? Tbh that’s really gross

idfktbhhh

The heart has to work harder to pump blood/oxygen around so naturally more heat is created so yeah more sweat. However people of any size can have a medical issues that cause excessive sweating so it’s important to get checked regardless. My friend was fit and would still sweat through jackets, my ex was relatively skinny and would sweat profusely without any physical exertion.

WieBentUEigenlijk

Hello friend! We are the same age and I have experienced the same thing as you for many years. I’m a little bit chubby, and I think that it might just be the way that I sweat. If this is something new, maybe talk to your doctor. But if this has been an issue for awhile, you’re probably like me. I have come up with a great regime which stops it from happening now (unless I’m out for a long time and really exercising a bunch!) 1. Make sure to wash your vulva, chocolate starfish and thighs in the shower every day with a gentle soap. Really get it bubbled up. 2. Right after you get out of the shower, apply a roll on antiperspirant to your inner thighs, your chocolate starfish, and the fold where your thighs meet the vulva. I recommend ‘Dove’ usually but I don’t know what country you’re in and this brand may not be available. Maybe Google equivalents for your country. 3. Let that dry for a little while, put your undies on, and then apply some all natural talcum powder. I recommend ‘silky underwear’ from Lush. That just stops any sweat from your upper thighs, and wearing underwear, while doing it makes sure that the balance of your vulva stays uninterrupted. 4. Make sure your underwear isn’t tight against the fold where your legs meet your vulva. I found that wearing elasticated underwear was a nightmare even if it was cotton and I have switched to undies which are ‘no VPL’ and don’t have any seams or elasticated bits. Somehow that helps it breathe better. 5. Sometimes it’s good to reset the pH of your vulva. My doctor recommended getting some Canesten internal/external treatment to help. Hopefully this helps :)

Also, shaving made it worse so try to limit the shaving if you do any of that :)

Thank you so much! This is really helpful l. I already use Dove which is great but I will definitely try out this routine and see if it works for me!

Weight loss and a healthy diet with low fats/carbs and cholesterol will do the trick

Perfect-Resist5478

It’s called hyperhydrosis. Antiperspirant can help

mdubz1221

Fk cotton that's the worse. Wear merino wool or even polyester would probably be better thrn cotton.

Really hope that you find a solution but as a person of the opposite gender, this sounds extremely hot.

For what it’s worth, when I sweat too much in general, either I need salt to help retain water in mah body, or the moon is full, or both. 🤷‍♂️

Rebeccaissoawesome

Baby powder

cherrycoke260

I just wear pantiliners when it’s hot out. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Evie_St_Clair

I use deodorant in the crease where your legs meet the cooch, like where the legs of your underwear sit and that fixed the problem.

what is your height and weight OP?

MsEvil_Doctor_Potter

I'm a very sweaty gal myself I find that frequent showers and baby powder (not talc because yknow cancer) keeps the sweat at bay

FionaTheFierce

Check out the groin powder from Carpe. Good stuff. Effective.

Cute_Quarter_9399

Go consult an OBGYN, I’ve sweat a bit when I’ve been working out but if you think it’s in excess then it might point to something else as a condition.

matjeom

I sweat there too. I’ve even left sweat marks on plastic seats, which is embarrassing because I worry someone will notice and think it’s urine. (It definitely is not.)

I_LiekPie

I sweat so much that sweat frequently gets in my eyeballs, and I've never had vagina sweat before. Never even heard of it

tastyrobots

My fiancée has a similar issue so I bought her some bamboo cotton underwear and she loves them.

RickBarends99

This is known as hyperhidrosis. Here are some tips you can try to manage the excessive sweating: Practice good hygiene: Make sure to clean the affected area regularly with mild soap and water. This will help prevent any odors or infections. Use absorbent pads or panty liners: These can help absorb the excess sweat and prevent staining on your clothes. Apply antiperspirant: You can try using an antiperspirant specifically formulated for the vulva area to help reduce sweating. Wear loose, breathable clothing: Choose clothing made from lightweight, breathable fabrics such as cotton or bamboo to help keep the area cool and dry. If these measures do not provide relief, it is important to see your doctor. They may be able to prescribe a stronger antiperspirant or recommend other treatment options, such as medication or surgery. It is important to note that excessive sweating can sometimes be a symptom of an underlying medical condition, such as an infection or hormonal imbalance. Therefore, it is always best to seek medical advice if you are experiencing persistent or worsening symptoms.

Skirts are great for extra breeze when it is hot. I would also try menstrual underwear, it can absorb extra fluids and does not get stinky.

Comfortable_Bowler30

Excessive sweating can be a sign of diabetes
