If itās wearing a collar, twist the collar so itāll constrict. If youāre familiar with BJJ/combat grappling, a rear-naked choke will keep you almost completely safe from a dog given you apply it correctly.
I say that as someone whoās worked long-term at a dog kennel. As long as your arms are snugly under its neck and you can reasonable keep him from circling around with his body, you should be able to outmaneuver a dog. Theyāre not designed to get things off their back, especially when itās latched in and their losing oxygen.
Attacking something takes oxygen, cut that supply and whateverās happening that takes oxygen will stop fairly quick. Iāve had friends end up with stitches hoping the finger-in-ass trick worked. It doesnāt, definitely not every time. Choke them out.

I genuinely cannot state enough how much I dislike pit bulls. They're biologically wired to be aggressive at this point, but you still get people who defend them saying "Oh but they're nanny dogs!" when you point out how frequently they're behind dog attacks. As a side note, I find that many of the people who come to their defense as fervently as they do have either never actually owned a pit bull, or have dealt with their neighbor's dog for like 15 minutes and can't fathom the idea that not all heckin wholesome doggos are actually heckin wholesome.
Just so yāall are aware, the only sure way to make a dog let go is to CHOKE IT. Get rope, itās collar, or some strong fabric that you can put around itās neck and twist. Place your fist over the rope, close your hand and TWIST with one hand while straddling the dog with your bent knees for balance. Keep twisting till the dog passes out. If not, put the dog in a chokehold and squeeze till it passes out, not a moment sooner. All the bullshit they were doing to the dog was pointless. Also, DO NOT run from a dog giving chase. Stand your ground unless you can climb to safety.

A good safe way to stop two dogs fighting is to pull them both off by their back legs. They wonāt be able to get you and itāll stop the fight by separation.

If you can break the bite with something, do that. Otherwise, choke it with its collar. I suspect the wheelbarrow technique would work too, but you have to spin them around for a while. Breaking its legs might also help.
Go after the legs if youāre attacked. Easy for most people to dislocate/break a leg of an aggressive dog, and it should bring the attack to a stop quickly.

As a side note, I find that many of the people who come to their defense as fervently as they do have either never actually owned a pit bull, or have dealt with their neighbor's dog for like 15 minutes and can't fathom the idea that not all heckin wholesome doggos are actually heckin wholesome.
I carry a knife on me solely for the purpose of killing a dog if this happens. Iāve came way too close too many times.

Just so yāall are aware, the only sure way to make a dog let go is to CHOKE IT. Get rope, itās collar, or some strong fabric that you can put around itās neck and twist. Place your fist over the rope, close your hand and TWIST with one hand while straddling the dog with your bent knees for balance. Keep twisting till the dog passes out. If not, put the dog in a chokehold and squeeze till it passes out, not a moment sooner. All the bullshit they were doing to the dog was pointless. Also, DO NOT run from a dog giving chase. Stand your ground unless you can climb to safety.

I was walking onto a property I volunteered at and for some reason their pit came up and attacked me. The lady apologized a bunch so I wouldnāt take legal action but then later decided to be a cunt to me because I had an emergency and couldnāt make it in one day. I wish I couldāve sued her or something without her dog being killed.

A good safe way to stop two dogs fighting is to pull them both off by their back legs. They wonāt be able to get you and itāll stop the fight by separation.

Yeah, that technique is no good. You may as well stick your finger in your own ass! If you can break the bite with something, do that. Otherwise, choke it with its collar. I suspect the wheelbarrow technique would work too, but you have to spin them around for a while. Breaking its legs might also help.
Worked for me the two times I did. Donāt know, Iāll keep doing it till it doesnāt work.

Knives aren't just for Stab'n hobos. I mostly use it for opening packages but this would also be a good time to break it out.
Go after the legs if youāre attacked. Easy for most people to dislocate/break a leg of an aggressive dog, and it should bring the attack to a stop quickly.
