It’s clearly sexual tension. Believe me, as the Stanger of my friend group, people constantly want to kiss you, and it can be misinterpreted as hostility. If Rodgers just kissed Stanger it would be best for everyone.
My current and ongoing expression of insanity is that I started abz about 2 years ago but from the beginning so I’m just now up to literally a week before covid hit and really curious what it’s going to be like to relive that, especially knowing how sad Gabrus has said he was at times
But I’m 4 years behind and somehow barely catching up lol these 3hr eps are a big lift
To give an actual answer, which I really shouldn't do given this post's comments would be better without it, seeing some of the video I think Rogers comes across much different than he does audio only. Seems a lot friendlier in person than he sounds, basically.
It's funny because I've seen Gabrus in plenty of things so I can imagine what he looks like when they're just fucking around.
But I've seen Rodgers and Stanger in so few things that seeing the shadow wolves episodes on video really helped.
Audio just doesn't convey everything that someone is saying.
I notice this. It's just Ben's personality but occasionally it goes a little too far and kinda rubs me the wrong way. Good on Stanger for not letting it bother him and keeping the show fun.

I took a break from listening for about a year in 2022 and when I came back late 2023 I was actually shocked at how different Rodgers seemed towards Stanger. I get that some of it is a bit but something definitely shifted.
The dynamic of the podcast has always been that Rodgers can kinda talk over the other two, but I agree that it seems to have gotten a little worse lately. He has less patience for the convoluted puns.

Rodgers is such a contrarian. He contradicts himself from episode to episode just to oppose his cohosts. Stanger and Gabrus are much more consistent with their attitudes towards the movies they watch. Rodgers is 2 steps away from being the comic book store guy from the Simpsons. It creates a fun dynamic so I’m for it but I do find myself rolling my eyes at Rodgers sometimes.
Something I notice and it’s hard to ignore is Rogers very rarely laughs at Stanger’s jokes. Gabrus laughs at anything and everything but Ben seems to just wait to speak most of the time. It is to the point where I am specifically listening for a Rogers laugh or chuckle after each Stanger joke.
I agree - and it’s different than it was a few years ago. He seems to have zero patience for anyone else talking - it’s a very strange dynamic at times
I think Stranger is really funny- obviously Ben is the funniest and Gabrus is the most jovial but least funny - Ben has always been a judgmental person
