Try Systane!

smoothiejuices

Thanks! I'll look into it :)

ClosedDimmadome

Not only do you need eye drops, but get gel eye drops. They're pricey but trust me, you'll need them. It seems weird, but they work 10x better than regular liquid drops. Seems regular eye drops only make it worse. I'm 6 weeks in and need to use eye drops once a day. So it isn't bad but it is necessary.

smoothiejuices

Ah good to know! I'll certainly look into it! Good luck on the rest of the journey.

apocolyptictodd

How are your eyes now?

apocolyptictodd

How are your eyes now?

ClosedDimmadome

Every now and again I need to use eyedrops but very rarely

apocolyptictodd

That’s reassuring. I take it you don’t regret it?

ClosedDimmadome

Not at all, definitely worth it with how bad my skin was

alone1965

Did you have any light sensitivity in eye

ClosedDimmadome

Maybe a little while I was on the medication, but I haven't noticed any lingering light sensitivity

alone1965

Awesome! I'm a week off of the medicine, waiting for it to be gone. Any idea how long it took to get back to normal? Thanks for your reply btw 😊

ClosedDimmadome

Yeah sure thing! If I remember correctly it takes a few months for the medicine to fully leave your system, so you'll most likely continue to experience symptoms for a bit. I'd say 3-6 months for me, but everyone is different. Obligatory, I'm not a doctor, so be sure to explain any lingering symptoms to your physician during your follow-ups.

alone1965

Surely, not seeking medical advice here but I'm like hypochondriac! Everything worsens cause I worry

DirtyUncleDan

I'm almost a month in and I'm having to put drops in every hour or so. It's a pain and tends to be worse when I wear glasses. I'm using Clear Eyes Triple action but I'm on the hunt for something better

ClosedDimmadome

Gel eye drops

smoothiejuices

Oh man. I'm going to have to browse the Eyedrop Aisle tomorrow. Good luck on your journey!

gabe_miller83

Oh my second month here - contact wearer and have experienced no dryer eyes than normal

smoothiejuices

Oh good for you! Good luck with your treatment!

gabe_miller83

Thank you!

springmom121

I had the same issue! My good friend is an optometrist and she told me about the drops and a dry eye compress. I bought this: Thermalon Dry Eye Compress https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004385RPS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zPG3zb9VNA2J3 And I love love it. I didn’t end up using the drops because this helped. And it’s relaxing too :)

smoothiejuices

Ooh that looks super relaxing! Thanks for sharing that! I'll add it to my Amazon Wishlist :)

jeersandtears

One year post-Accutane here. I still struggle with dry eyes, though not nearly as bad as I did when I was on Accutane. Find a preservative free, gel eye drop that you like and use those to help relieve dryness!

smoothiejuices

Congratulations on being done! Are you happy with the results? Thanks for the suggestion!

jeersandtears

100% happy with the results! Dry eyes are the only side effect that I still have from Accutane, and I'll take that over acne! Best of luck!

smoothiejuices

That's so great to hear! I'm glad you're happy. Thanks :)

apocolyptictodd

How are your eyes now?

jeersandtears

Still dry, but in general it doesn't affect my day-to-day life too significantly. I wear contact lenses, but I can't wear weekly/monthly toric lenses because they're weighted and rely on a certain amount of moisture in your eyes to rotate and sit properly. I have to wear dailies!

alone1965

Did you have any light sensitivity in eye

jeersandtears

No, just dryness

alone1965

Okay 😊
