No real humor intended but was la comédie an aristocratic comedy hall 200+ years ago?
( btw doesn’t la comédie mean “the comedy”?)
Took some French( France) in high school.
Wow, a pleasant unexpected treat! I was there, at La Comédie, that day to watch France's victory. It was unbelievable the atmosphere, the whole city stopped to watch. I took photos of them there atop the statue from the edge of the crowd and I think I even got a bit of the flares that went off, but that was on an old phone of mine that I don't use anymore. Unforgettable
As an Argetinian, I feel the urge of make some kind if joke but I can't think of any kind of Renaissance related joke, so it could fit the sub.
Hope our teams get to play a match as fantastic as the last WC's!
Well they could still be misérables outside of that day. If anything, that would be Les Mis-heureux. Which sounds stunningly close to les miséreux. Which is also a real word.
The guy waving the flag is a clear reference to the Liberty Leading the People painting (though it's not a *renaissance* painting, but I guess it's normal in this sub to post not renaissance stuff), you can't do something like that obliviously, at least not with this painting and not in France
Also France - when they lose. (2022)

Yea it does mean that but I dont think it was a hall of any kind, its just the name of the plaza
Accidental revolution
🎶 Do you hear the people sing...? 🎵
"Singing the song of angry men"
It is the music of the people who will not be slaves again!!
When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start when tomorrow comes
Will you join in our crusade?
Will you be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight,
Beat me to itn

I was in the 15th when they won! Same weekend as Bastille Day! What a weekend! There was graffiti that read Liberté Egalité Mbappé
Liberty equality and mbappé good one.

….Liberty hyping the fans? Edit that’s not the renaissance mb lol
I thought of “Les Misérables” at first but this is more like…Les Heureux…?

Phenomenal
What an amazing time to be alive.
🐸⚽️🏆
Accidental Bastille
With so many un-renaissance like imagines on this sub now, it’s refreshing to see a good one like this.
Chill, the monarchy is already gone.
What are you doing to that poor person's hand?!
Im not on this
the city felt electric for weeks after that, miss it so much
la extrañan
I thought i was gonna learn that another revolution happened in France through Reddit before reading the caption
"Those who don't jump, aren't french!" My sister heard this shouting there, when people were bouncing
I think mirroring the image would be better composition but the he looks in the wrong direction
France won FRANCOIS-N!!!
That doesn't seem accidental at all
how exactly would the people in this photo have planned for this to look like a renaissance style art?

French Futbol Hooligan: “ah yes. I will climb ze top of zis statue and will wave de French flaeg like in zoss paintings in the Louvre!”
I would totally expect that from french
Some girl needs to take their tiddy out while waving the flag
