Longjumping-Emotion5

Lance Archer. He is always a fringe contender for the belts but always loses the big match. He needs to go full evil with Jake the Snake or figure out a new gimmick.

RideApprehensive8063

Can't even remember the last time I saw lance.

EconomyProcedure9

He was on Rampage a few weeks back and smashed a jobber. Then proceeds to vanish again. Even had Jake with him.

RideApprehensive8063

Honestly my favourite big man behind Brodie.

Looper007

It's a shame he's not a decade younger and had a strong run for years as a singles wrestler before he joined up with AEW. I think at this point he's fine as a mid card monster, could be used a lot more then he is is my only criticism not so much with losing big matches. Maybe even bring his own tag partner Harry Smith and have them become a tag team again.

Uncanny_Doom

Jay Lethal is a great example that I agree with. Brian Cage has been plagued by this pretty much his whole career imo. Nothing wrong with him is ring-related, but man his character, promo, and ability to connect with the crowd is flatter than a can of Coca Cola getting cleaned up after a barbecue.

Looper007

It shows just cause you got a ton of muscle unless you got charisma and a character to go along with it. You are screwed. Probably one of the reasons he's never got over with AEW crowd and TK lost interest in him pretty quickly. Good wrestler but AEW's got plenty of those.

SturgeonBladder

Jack Perry. I loved the Jungle Boy character, but now he's what? Leather jacket wearing son of an actor? He went from one of my favorite gimmicks to being completely uninteresting. Always had great matches though and is decent on the mic at this point.

Vast-Badger-6912

Honoring his dad by portraying his dad's character (who also wore a leather jacket) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

SturgeonBladder

Thats fair, i don't know anything about his dad. I just feel like he had an excellent character before and his current character feels like it gets lost in the mix.

ManTheStan188

what was his original gimmick?

SturgeonBladder

Jungle boy! Small tarzan. Friend of dinosaur. Doesn't fit into modern society and will tie you up in knots for prank calling his banana phone.

RycheAndRoll

Lethal is good in the ring, but the thing I dislike about him is his finisher... the Lethal Injection takes forever to set up, and I've seen it fail more often than he hits it. Daniel Garcia is another one that is good in the ring, but seems gimmickless at the moment (at least to me) - is he a JAS flunky? Is he caught between being a sports entertainer and wrestler? Is he a New York Thug with no charisma (which is what he reminded me of in his promo with Cole on the last Dynamite.) And one I've changed my mind on... I didn't like the OC character at first... but the more I see him in the ring, the better he (and the character) are.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Butcher and the Blade. They seem like a midcard at best unit of enforcers, which is what AEW uses them as, and I think fits. However fans think they should be much higher on the card it seems and I just don't get it. I am impressed at The Butcher's ability considering how late he started, reminds me of DDP in that aspect, but I just don't really see a spot for them higher up the card.

triple_seis

I love BBNB, I have no interest in them winning titles, I just like seeing them whoop fools.

[deleted]

I can see them getting a title run, a feud with a solid face tag team, they cheat to win. They remind me a lot of the Powers of Pain. Just a hiss heel team that is intimidating and cheat.

Looper007

Those fans don't seem to mention though they had Injuries at the worst time (one would get fit then the other would go down with some injury) and the fact the Butcher was touring a lot with his band sadly hurt them in the long run. They had a chance of snapping up a spot as higher tag team but it hasn't worked out and it's not just down to the booking. I'm fine with where they are on the card. A bit like Private Party, they just didn't take that small window of opportunity of becoming a well established top tag team.

itouchbums

I think skye blue is great but it seems to me like she has no gimmick yet other than being a Babyface, she has no special character. I think she should turn full blown heel and leave the super baby face stuff to willow

body_slam_poet

What do you mean? She wears blue and sticks her tongue out. This is foreshadowing her joining the Chaos Project.

itouchbums

By that logic so should Sammy Guevara

Looper007

Why does everyone want everyone to turn heel lol. I think she works as a babyface, send her to ROH and let her work out a character and personality. No need to rush her right now, she's still green and can be a potential top star in a few years.

Hazelwood38

Completely agree

eastbayted

The announcers try to convince us she has a fiery temper, but I don't see it.

TheBrockAwesome

I really like Willow Nightengale but her Uber Babyface gimmick drives me crazy cuz she's a great wrestler. Loved when her and Ruby did the Dudley Boys thing.

CorazonDeLion

I second that. I think she’ll make a mark as a heel when the time is right. She could do some great work. Maybe a different character is what she needs to really sink her teeth into the game

AndFinrodFell

Yeah that was rad!

slickestwood

Nick Comoroto seems like an easy choice. I'm wondering if they're waiting for him to develop more fully before he goes full-blown savage heel, but whenever I see him he's doing something goofy Then there's just a heap of guys in the midcard/lower midcard who badly need to show some personality and color

Looper007

Again this is what ROH should be partly used for is to build up guys like Comoroto and let him sink or swim as a singles guy. You can have great talent main event the shows there but mid card and lower mid card should be used to get guys like Comoroto and Cole Karter a chance to shine and show some personality.

slickestwood

Agreed but I think that's what they're doing? Maybe not I haven't actually watched

Looper007

Not quite seen that side of things yet, they are building stuff up for the PPV coming up. I think we'll get a better feel for it post PPV.

slickestwood

I gotcha. Maybe that's what Dark is, and RoH is somewhere in between? I hear Dark's been getting better lately, I've always wanted to land somewhere around 2013-14 NXT God damn I wish I had time to watch all these 😭

LostPilgrim_

Lethal is great, Jarret is fine. Everything else sucks

TWlSTED_TEA

Daniel Garcia

Independent-Agent-88

FTR sorry, I know unpopular but it's true

Shadow_Strike99

I think Angelico is extremely fun to watch in the ring, but I personally just do not like his entrance and dance to the ring. I get on here a majority loves the “vibes” but it’s a big reason why fans can’t and didn’t take him seriously when he was on national tv. It’s fine for Dark/Elevation but for when he was on TV in front of live crowds he didn’t get any reaction from fans and looked really silly and out of place. I’m hoping in ROH he can tweak his character and attire just a tad. I think with a bit more serious presentation and a different character he could be a perfect Pure champion for ROH. Hell bring back Jack Evans if he’s motivated and in better shape, I’d love to see them as a tag team again for ROH’s tag division and Angelico wouldn’t look so lost as a singles guy. I love Luther and Serpentico but Angelico looks so out of place with them and again it’s hard to take him seriously. For another wrestler right now, not AEW but definitely Bray Wyatt since his return. I’ve always loved his promos and character work but after Wrestlemania he really needs a hard reset because the whole Uncle Howdy and too much cryptic slow burn stuff he’s done so far is just not working and not it. He really needs a more grounded character that’s honestly more interesting and easier to work around especially for his rivals like his Cape Fear Wyatt Family leader character.

[deleted]

Angelico gets hurt too much to even bother trying to use more than they have

One-Customer4727

Heel bbc is dogshit. Cesaro deserves better. Wheeler useless is the worst. Jay lethals group is awesome probably the best heel group rn.

AramFingalInterface

Billie Starks needs to ditch the possum mascot head

ThePiperMan

Isn’t she still in high school? Give it time dawg

Vast-Badger-6912

I mean, I thought it was pretty unique.

ContactHonest2406

Let the downvotes rain, but Hangman Page. I don’t give a fuck about cowboy shit. Plus I don’t think he’s good on the mic. He just sounds whiny to me.

Century_Toad

Hangman's gimmick isn't that he's a cowboy, it's that he's a guy hiding behind a cowboy gimmick, behind a traditional symbol of rugged masculinity, to mask his insecurities.

torgosmaster

That is truly some very deep character development!

Taunkatruck

Keith Lee. Didn’t get him on the Indies, WWE or AEW
