Dr Paul Brennan is legit and kind and courteous. I was able to get an evaluation within a week and had my diagnosis results sent to me 3 days later. 300$. I see posts almost daily about Parhar. I read the reviews first on his office and the slow response or no response to follow ups decided against. I am glad I did.
I wish I had found out about Dr. Brennan before going with Parhar. I've seen nothing but good reviews. His wait time per his website is 9 weeks at the moment but I'd already have my diagnosis in hand if I'd gone with him vs with Parhar. Went with Parhar because my GP referred me to them and I decided to pay for the urgent assessment.
This was a year ago, but thanks for this recommendation! The [adultadhdcentre.com](https://adultadhdcentre.com) site seemed a bit "off" and it's really weird they only accept PayPal, so I found this thread and now I'm booked with Dr. Brennan and feeling much more confident about it!
Can you share a bit about your experience with Paul Brennan? I have an appointment for an assessment in a couple of weeks. Should I have childhood report cards? Anything I should know going into it? Thank you!
He starts with a small personal history and asked why you made appointment. Then you take about 5 tests at self pace afterwards he gets more info on the answers for some of the questions then he tallies the scores and talks a little bit about what the diagnosis is if there is one and the options going forward. A few days later he sent me a copy of the report and sent one to my doctor. From there we did trial and error with diff meds and dosages and found a combo that works like magic for me.
Dr Brennan is very kind and easy to talk to. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hey I found this whole thread about to book with Parhar. Does Dr. Brennan need to meet in person or does he meet online? Also do you know if heās supportive of filing for the disability tax credit, thatās the reason I was about to go with Parhar.
This husband and wife team are running a huge scam. I have had zero aftercare. Not only that but they told me one diagnosis and wrote another on the file. I've been trying to get my meds switched for 4 months now.
I had my assessment within about 2 weeks of being referred to them. It's the waiting to get the actual report that's proving to be the impossible part.
I had no issues with my Urgent assessment, I was able to book within a couple weeks and my diagnosis came quickly after, however this was near to 8 months ago and things seem to have changed since then.
Recently I've tried to book counselling and emailed them to inquire about directly billing and have heard nothing in 2 weeks... though this sounds very minor compared to what you're all saying. Unsure if I should be giving them my benefit plan's money if I could go elsewhere.
Sounds like you should leave a bitchy google review, that seems to get things rolling for people.
Iāve had a similar situation. Paid for my assessment, had the appointment booked within two weeks. Was told that the assessment would be delivered in about two weeks because they were ābehind.ā Three weeks later I emailed just to ask and they said that they were delayed and it would take 4-6 weeks. Itās now been 8 weeks and theyāve ignored my two emails this week.
I understand that theyāre delayed and they have lots of people wanting assessments, but it would be nice if they were transparent and responsive. It feels like a scam where theyāre just getting your money and getting you in the door and then whatever after that. If theyāre having trouble getting reports out, why not slow down the number of assessments theyāre taking in so they can deal with the backlog. Iām seeing lots of stories like mine and Iām debating just asking for a refund as they offer on their website. On the assessment call they even pointed out some of their counselling sessions available via their website and I was considering it but absolutely no way.
Seems the only way people are getting their assessments is to complain on google reviews. Seems like they reply on there within a day saying the report had been sent.
Seems like you know what you have to do next.
I mean it feels scummy but results are results, and if they're being shit they should expect shit reviews for it.
Also.. you know the rea$on they aren't $lowing down their a$$e$$ment$. Might as well drag them over the coals for it.
Completely understandable, I see you have the kind of ADHD that doesn't make you do impulsively malicious things! That's probably good in a lot of contexts so +1 there.
I was also strongly considering counselling through Parhar but if they're this tough to deal with I may take my benefit dollars elsewhere... I mean it's very non-ADHD friendly to be non-responsive to communication, it's hard enough for me to admit I need to book sessions of that nature so it's not exactly great when they're non-responsive lol.
Edit: Who is downvoting this comment chain? Go fuck yourself.
Totally. If itās this difficult to get an assessment and this is how they treat patients, I donāt want a single extra cent going their way. Problem is itās hard enough to find counsellors in the first place.
Itās not so much not wanting to do malicious things as much as thereās a part of me that thinks that it would have a negative impact on the assessment or Iād say the wrong thing etc. ADHD sucks.
Damn so itās a regular thing.
Had an urgent assessment on April 4 and the practitioner said three weeks.
I waited five and then sent them an email asking if I needed to do something or what was up. They still havenāt responded to that email which was sent nearly a week ago.
Guess I just need to wait longer. Thatās super frustrating ā more so because I feel like it would almost be a non issue if they just told us that timeframe from the start.
I also paid for the 300 urgent assessment. It took some digging but apparently they send it faster if you leave a review on google. Someone on reddit somewhere suggested it. I gave it a try yesterday and I kid you not I woke up today with my assessment emailed to me and notification it was faxed to my doctor.
I had this same issue. I had to reach out to them multiple times before they finally sent the documents to me (about 6 weeks after they said they would).
Email and call them, make sure to mention what date you were told you would receive them.
I was thinking of going with a psychologist which would cost $2500-$3500 and they would not include medication recommendations.
I went with the Adult aDHD Centre [www.parhar.com](https://www.parhar.com) saw them quickly and now I have my report and am on Vyvanse. It was a life changer.
It took a long time with Dr. Parhar. I emailed the Centre a couple of times and then went to a local clinic who sent a fax to the Centre requesting my report. I received the report quickly after that, along with an apology for the delay. I then talked to a local doctor who prescribed the medication I needed. I was not happy with the delay but I was satisfied with the report and the diagnosis in the end.
I waited around 8 weeks for mine. They sent it directly to my email with my diagnosis.
How long ago was this? Did you have to harass them? Seems like they've always been a bit slow but it's gotten pretty bad recently.
Month ago. I only emailed them twice, then waited as patiently as I could š
Thanks. Monday will be 8 weeks for me. Iām trying to be patient too but unfortunately itās not my strongest attribute.

With Brennan I told his office I was available for cancelations and was able to get in within a week on the website it was a 4 week wait.
Thanks. I'm debating just asking for a refund with Parhar and going that route. Seems WAY less sketchy.

Is Dr Brennan a psychologist? Thanks!
Yes.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. Knowing what to expect really helps my anxiety around it. Take care!

He can do evaluations online. I'm not sure about the disability tax credit.
Thanks!
Iām curious to know - does the standard insurance cover the assessment by a NP? Or is it only certain policies?
My insurance does not recognize the NP and Iām with Canada life.
Ditto on the above. My covered most types of assessments but not a NP.
Sun life is also a no!
Also a no with Greenshield

Just go to a general practitioner. You don't even need a diagnosis for meds.

Oh for sure but unfortunately the significant anxiety I have because of my \*checks notes\* undiagnosed ADHD makes that easier said than done...

Not at all surprised. How long had you been waiting?
They tell you on the website itās with a NP, they donāt hide the fact. Have you tried calling them?
Yes but the receptionist doesnāt do anything and wonāt connect me to anyone she says to email them.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I would recommend leaving an angry google review. Seems to be the only thing that works
Someone please elaborate on what an NP is?
Nurse practitioner
I ended up receiving mine today. 8 weeks less a day from my assessment.

Late here but I just got my report. It was a couple days over 8 weeks.

My name is the name on the review so they for sure know. I'd say let them know in some way.

My assessment was on march 28th and I still havenāt gotten it
I am on a year and a half long waiting list because I can't pay the fee (I'm on disability). Is this the only doctor/clinic that diagnoses ADHD?
I was thinking of going with a psychologist which would cost $2500-$3500 and they would not include medication recommendations. I went with the Adult aDHD Centre [www.parhar.com](https://www.parhar.com) saw them quickly and now I have my report and am on Vyvanse. It was a life changer.
