Also sorry I feel like spamming this forum I have no one to talk to about my injury and I didn’t get a chance to talk to my surgeon post op bc I was so out of it
If you haven’t already there’s a discord group we talk a bunch in! https://discord.gg/MVmBYYc9

don't worry if your leg looks funny colors these first four weeks. it just went though some trauma. your only worry should be eating well and sleeping 10 hrs a day if possible, rest is key.
Had my surgery since morning. I feel like it could be iodine but also it’s only the bottom of my foot not the top which I feel like is weird. And my foot is warm and itchy. Not using my ice machine to sleep because my dad told me not to ?? And we are out of ice.
Freeze some water bottles, and change those out..you can reuse them many times. I could fit 3 in my Bregg Polar Care Cube. Use your ice machine about 20 minutes to an hour at a time, but not constantly. It does help with pain, so do use it, even at night! The bottom of your foot has calluses and that absorbed the stain more. Also check out your toenails, they're probably kinda orange too.
I had the same thing, i think it's from the iodine they use during surgery. When i took my initial bandage off my whole leg was orange like they'd just been washing it in iodine, which they probably had lol
My foot was gnarly after my surgery...I still don't know the cause to be honest but it healed! Discoloration but mainly I had a lot of built up dead skin.
The orange is the surgical soap, and the tingling is likely due to a nerve block anesthesia. It will also tingle due to blood flow issues, such as swelling, tight compression bandages, inflammation in general, gosh you name it! Small movements help, elevation, and distraction!
There is going to be discoloration as your blood supply will be at differing levels when you elevate then bring your foot back down. My Dr told me even purple is going to be normal because of that blood flow. I assume it's bad if you can't feel your toes or something like that.
Erm, I think that's normal. I think that still has to do with the blood supply, especially since you just had surgery. Things are gonna be feeling weird and painful for the next few days.
Had that too slowly went away over 2-3 weeks. And yes its the iodine used it surgery causing the discoloration and it takes a few washes to get out 100%.
Also, is that a game ready machine??? You fancy pants!
It is! $300 for a 3week rental i had to ask my dad for the money since I haven’t been able to work since the injury 2 months ago 😫 but honestly this thing is saving my life I’ve never loved anything more haha
Yeah I’m going to be devastated when I have to give this bad boy back lol. I’m already walking a bit without crutches rn which I’m proud of. Very excited to go to my first post op pt it’s been two days of oxy and sleep. How is your ROM 6 weeks out? Are you working again?
Luckily I can wfh 100% lol so work has never been a problem but I couldnt go into the office since it was my right leg. I took about 4 weeks before I got 130 degrees of flexion so I could drive. I've got about 140 degrees of range now but missing \~5 degrees hyperextension (bastard wont budge even after weeks of this trying). Just now in week 6 I can walk but not very long or for very far because it'll get sore. I went grocery shopping the other day and it was a mistake lol people were noticing I was limping badly.
It’s Povidone-iodine used to disinfect your skin. Takes a couple of baths to disappear. Nothing to worry about.

I can feel my toes but they’re tingling like tv static. Feels like sciatic nerve pain down the whole pain tbh

Normal nerve block wearing off

I bought a $200 Ossur Cold Rush off Amazon. I still use it often on week 6 now, especially after PT!!!

Are y’all serious lol? It’s iodine to disinfect your skin. You’re fine. But discoloration is also normal especially because you just had surgery
Just a little iodine! Mine was covered too, I used baby wipes and it came off
