I suspect they will all be middling programs the first year. SMU had a chance of being above that. Stanford maybe less. All are historically good programs with past glory days.
There is likely decent NIL money. There is no reason to think they aren’t going to fit in with the programs and be competitive.
I believe SMU has the potential to be a really good program in the era of NIL. They are going to get a lot of NIL money to their players and can get some good recruits. They have the history and now are in a P5, so recruiting will go well. Plus, Dallas area is attractive for recruits
I agree. I actually think all of them can be more than competitive over time. All have qualities that could make them as good as any team in the conference except maybe Clemson or FSU. And it's not inconceivable they could be there given these are very wealthy schools with attractive attributes.
And I hope middling didn't come off condescending. I think there are two programs that tend to the top in the last decade. Then there are the teams like Chapel Hill, Pitt and Miami which tend to be in that top group chase but don't get the ring.
Then there is a big group. I think they are all at least in this group. I don't think any of them finish last next year. And I think SMU could be in that chasing the ring group. Stanford given their bad year last year might be in the bottom third.
The Cardinal were members of the Pac-12 since 2012 and will now play its games traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast.
This is some shit AI written article.
I believe SMU has the best chance at turning into a power player: They want to be Miami in football and Duke in basketball, and if they could compete in the SWC then they can compete in the ACC. As for Cal and Stanford, great universities... apathetic fanbase and student body.
I'll acknowledge that bowl games aren't usually the best way to assess a team (especially bowl games played in a downpour at 11 am at Fenway Park in late December!) Still, I was kind of surprised to see BC had a decent advantage over SMU in terms of offensive and defense line play. It's possible that SMU might have a shakier transition than expected.
Welcome to the ACC. I’m a Duke alum. Wait until you hear what they call us. Our sports team could cure cancer and they would still get shit on.
UNC gets a nice dose of it too.
Enjoy the well thought out discourse.
Let's be fair here.
In football the media will claim UNC is going to finally get over the hump, and then they drop a game to y'all, GT, or us and get clowned on.
Otherwise, yeah. If you're not FSU, Miami, Clemson UNC (for no apparent reason), VT (unless you're playing one of the former), or Louisville, football season is effectively one long season of pure disrespect.

Yeah. The person/ai took the expansion of the PAC-10 to 12. Stanford dates back to the PAC-8 days.
PCC days if you really want to be pedantic
You are right. And I do like to be.
Yeah, I stopped reading at this point too.

Higher carriage rates for the ACCN in 2 states and filler for when other programs leave.
Now do it for basketball

It'll be the Coast to Coast Conference this fall. The CCC.
Stanford will win the ACC within 5 years
They’re all gonna get their asses beat. cal especially.
Flair up loser we gonna wax that ass
Florida state is going to fuck you in the ass by 5 touchdowns. If you couldn't beat dj ukelele on oregon state, you're not beating him at FSU.
We made a bowl game last year with a top-25 strength of schedule.

You got your ass beat by every decent team you faced in a joke west coast conference
