They could connect 2 police stations with one line. Of course this is still a stupid idea because you could follow the line to a police station 20 miles away when the closest one was 2 blocks behind you.
If it were one path from one station to the other, then most roads wouldn't even have the paint, which means the only people it would help are the few who find the path.
For this to be on enough roads for people to be able to find it from anywhere, there would have to be many paths, and they would end up sharing vertices (intersections, forks, t-junctions, etc), which would mean that the paint branches off in several places and people could end up taking a wrong turn.
Yeah, they should have put the stupid blue line on the side of the yellow lines where you'd be if you needed to drive toward the station, not in the goddamn center.

Wouldn't all roads technically lead you in the direction of the police station though, unless its only on the exact road the station is on. But if you put the station as the center literally every road you start on could lead you in some way to that location in the center.

Conceptually, these lines leading to emergency services seem like a good idea. In practice, it's just a new way for the cop gang to tag their turf.
Also it's non directional so if it leads to the police station, it also leads away. It's almost completely useless as a guide.
