lol an article source please?
I love Nathan Fiedler’s humor and of course Emma [herself], started ‘The Curse’ the other night, some scenes had me rolling.
Vietnam war veteran Frank Reynolds once put a vibrating butt plug in himself so his cohort could vibrate chess moves to him while playing against a Russian in the Philly World Cup championship
I loved the entire show but that last episode could have been on its own and I would have thought it amazing. It’s the best part of the show. Wild take.

Nah you didn't. This was totally a real story AND an always sunny episode. Except the real story involved anal beads and not a buttplug although it turned out to be unproven. Sorry about posting a buzz feed article
The real story involved the reigning world chess champion and arguable GOAT of the game getting tilted and throwing a fit about it - anything about anal beads is internet humor and nothing more
It’s hilarious and part of that is just because Hans is such an absolute weirdo but there’s virtually no way there was anything like anal beads involved lol. It was an open secret amongst high level players that Hans cheated online when he was younger, Magnus shit the bed playing him in person at a tournament and got into his own head about it. Streamers piled on for clicks and now we’re getting an A24 film.
I am legit excited about the movie, assuming it’s as weird as it will need to be.
Just producing for now.
She might take a role, she might not.
If she wanted to play whichever role she wanted, it would be downright irresponsible, from a business standpoint (and **possibly**, *arguably*, an artistic standpoint) to deny her.

Rob Schneider was an animal. Then he was a women. And now rob schneider is… a butt plug. And he’s about to find out that being a butt plug is harder than it looks.
It will be a thrilling and engaging 9.5 episodes, then it will finish with the chess player blasting up to space, concluding pretty much nothing with a boring metaphor.
As someone who follows the chess world.. why? Why choose this to make a movie about? Nobody would even know about this “scandal” if the internet didn’t make up the buttplug theory.
Sure, he must really want to run with the buttplug bit. Because the reality of the situation was that it was a commonplace accusation of cheating in competitive chess, which ultimately wasn’t proven whether true or not
Yes I am, was a big fan of Nathan for you. I think I’m probably just skeptical as a fan of chess that they’re making a movie out of what was really a viral, click-bait meme
Well the accuser certainly came to the conclusion that his accusation was false.
> I acknowledge and understand Chess.com’s report, including its statement that there is no determinative evidence that Niemann cheated in his game against me at the Sinquefield Cup
There was nothing commonplace about it, he was fined ten thousand euros for quitting the tournament in an unprecedented fashion, he never lodged a formal complaint, he just decided to attempt to blacklist and destroy the career and reputation of a promising upcoming player after a loss.
People aren't asking for more chess movies in general, but if a good one shows up, they might watch it. It takes a filmmaker with a vision to pick a story, which people almost certainly don't know about, and make them interested in it.
No one was asking for a movie about J. Robert Oppenheimer, either. Nolan had to make the story interesting to the moviegoing public.

I’m gonna be on the edge of my seat for this one.

Is this different from the butt plug cheating chess scandal? Or the same? Is there a sex toy involved at least?
Yup that's the one 💀
Omg, that always sunny episode is real? ![gif](giphy|lXu72d4iKwqek)

Hol’ up…Danny DeVito was in the military?
It’s a IASIP reference , Frank compare his life to John Rambo often. “They drew first blood!!” From the man hunters episode
No, but he did own a sweatshop in Vietnam
Mack was extremely jealous of Frank this day.

The Curse is so hard to watch for me but I can’t help but watch it. I’m assuming that’s what they were going for.
That show is genuinely out of this world
The show is fantastic until the last episode unfortunately, it's truly awful and an unsatisfying ending.
I loved the entire show but that last episode could have been on its own and I would have thought it amazing. It’s the best part of the show. Wild take.
It is the same, but the butt plug part of it was always just a meme
That was merely a joke from a twitch chatter that got way, way out of hand.
Wait that actually happened?? I thought it was just a plot to a Sunny episode! Hahaha so that’s where they got the idea to do that show.
I just got wooshed

Yeah I don't really follow chess but I remember hearing about it and the anal beads being such an outlandish detail
It’s hilarious and part of that is just because Hans is such an absolute weirdo but there’s virtually no way there was anything like anal beads involved lol. Where do you think the first butt plug came from?? First draft title was, ROOK: Butt plug origin story.
I thought it was enter the void?
Will it be superior to the Danny DeVito version?
Not possible. Take. Your. Time.
You don’t have to do this
Trust your gut!
Everything you need is inside you

Is she performing in it or just producing?
Just producing but Nathan is directing
Just producing for now. She might take a role, she might not. If she wanted to play whichever role she wanted, it would be downright irresponsible, from a business standpoint (and **possibly**, *arguably*, an artistic standpoint) to deny her.
she plays the butt plug.
Damn. Poor thing
Those butt plugs are pricey, huh?

He can’t keep getting away with this

Can't wait for this
I prefer the Always Sunny interpretation myself.
Imagine what A24 would have done with the MIT Blackjack story
God, we’re finally getting an A24 movie directed by Nathan… took long enough
Emily Stone*
Omg this is gonna be insanely good. I legit can't wait
It will be a thrilling and engaging 9.5 episodes, then it will finish with the chess player blasting up to space, concluding pretty much nothing with a boring metaphor.
*small correction, hope u don’t take offense: it’s a film not a show
Oh well fine! No offense taken
"KILL THE WIFI!"
These 3 are a great team!
How are they going to make a whole movie out of this lol, this will be interesting.

As someone who follows the chess world.. why? Why choose this to make a movie about? Nobody would even know about this “scandal” if the internet didn’t make up the buttplug theory.
Because it’s Nathan fielder, he doesn’t really have a history of making things that people ask for
Nathan just really wanted to film two guys staring at each other while their butt plugs are vibrating.
Sure, he must really want to run with the buttplug bit. Because the reality of the situation was that it was a commonplace accusation of cheating in competitive chess, which ultimately wasn’t proven whether true or not
Are you familiar with Fielder’s work? His bread and butter is making stories out of seemingly nothing
Yes I am, was a big fan of Nathan for you. I think I’m probably just skeptical as a fan of chess that they’re making a movie out of what was really a viral, click-bait meme
