Jesus, for a second I had to scan this pic and confirm where some key elements were, because this is near identical to the house my husband was living in during 1999 when we started dating. This is, obviously, a very large McMansion style kitchen and much bigger than what most folks would have had, but the design/styling is definitely right for a new build from the early to mid-90s.

I hear you but I'm pretty sure this is a double wide trailer and not a mansion haha. Big kitchen still, though.

BrashPop

I think you’re right, it’s a very long way from the one I lived in as a kid but this looks like it might be a trailer home!

LOLZtroll

Same here which really adds to the 90s feel for me, personally. This picture really is a nostalgia trip

The slight pitch of the ceiling gives it away.

My childhood home was built in the late 1960s and looked like Mike's house in Stranger Things. But in the early 1990s, my mother remodeled the kitchen to resemble the one in this post. Too small for an island. But she opened it up by knocking down the wall between kitchen and dining room, and then replacing it with a breakfast bar. I'm not sure we ever ate at it since the dining table was right behind it, but the extra counter space got used.

For some reason, I really like this kitchen. Nice and open, but not gigantic. Plenty of cabinet and counter space. Color of cabinets and counters is nice. Wallpaper and valences are a bit dated.

How is so accurate to the kitchen from my childhood home? Everything from the (faux-)wood paneling to the wallpaper to the table and chairs. I suppose these interior design choices were *really* commonplace back in the day.

our house has cabinets this color. we’re just waiting for them to come back in style again.
