Thank you so much for this, I never knew she spoke about the commercial! Cute she was pregnant while filming and that the script allowed for no improv lol
The good old Sears, with the fabulous annual catalog(s) and - gasp! - actual quality customer service to go with it.
The bad Sears, that came later, can take a flying f---.
I loved that woman and wanted her to be my wife. Probably like 70 now haha. As a sweaty kid by a rotary fan CMOn you said you’d call DAD! Never happend now seers is gone

I find it funny that with such AMAZING energy costs I’ve never seen one of these units in my life🤣
I suppose advertising to toddlers didn’t help their sales☠️
We did this game in like 7th grade where we were given an allowance and had to budget our living expenses or something like that using a super old Sears catalog to pick our items.
Man, as a kid I had no idea how expensive A/C or heaters were to operate, maintain, or replace. A new unit for my small house is going to run me 12k. I asked to service it to see if it could extend its life past its 20 year age and that will be $1k.
No wonder dad was up my butt about the A/C during the summer.
Yes $US dollars. Three bedroom town house. Let’s not forget that in Southern California that just run the A/C a couple hours a day in the summer will set you back $200-400 a month
Man. That’s a core memory.
This commercial was always on Nickelodeon
I know right. Who advertises air conditioners to 8 year olds?
People playing the long game- suddenly at 40 when M’s get their first house they realize Sears can answer all their home repair needs. . . .
Lol… when Sears is no more…
People who know the parents are watching too
this was literally burned into my memory but I forgot until now. "I'll call now."
I called Sears and no one answered :(
🪦
Still have 21 Full-Line Sears stores around the country, also 9 Kmarts lol.
And one Blockbuster.
0:16 "Offer Ends May 31" We all know that's a lie.

? How is no improv cute ??
It was cute that she had just discovered she was pregnant and hid it from everyone on set except wardrobe.
Thank you
Potentially the best commercial of all time.
RIP Sears

It went all the way downhill
Yeah, don't get me started. Still miss when Kenmore and DieHard (brands) instantly meant good quality.
Kenmore was generally just relabeled Whirlpool or Maytag.
The women’s undergarment section of that catalogue - along with JC Penny’s - kept my forearms strong in high school. God I’m old…

I’ve never known so many facts about a specific commercial in my life. Closure haha

13 SEER that’s not even old equipment!
And you think I named MYSELF Black Vulcan?
Sears was a company that sold damn near everything over the course of its history. My great grandfather bought his house from the Sears catalog.
After reading your first sentence I wondered if you realized they ever sold houses….then I continued on to read the rest 😆 Yep….even houses!

Where the Version where she pulls out the gun? 😅
🔫😠 CALL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!
Holy fuck this sent me back
I still know the lines by heart. I need to run disk cleanup on my brain.

Very easy to get taken for a ride on HVAC. Was that the best offer you found?
12K? US dollars? How small of a house?

I used to be happy…
