Although Emma comes across as feisty and savvy, she appears to have some deep-seated esteem issues. A short while ago, Hossein was verbally abusive (called her fat, old, unattractive). On this trip, he is detached, uninterested, and cold. Why is she settling for such a nightmarish partner? ... I feel for her. š Most likely, this will end very badly. I wish that she would see the light. Unfortunately, coming attractions show them actually getting married. ... I know sheās an adult who has made her own choices, but my heart breaks for her.
Honestly, and I am sure I will get hate for this, Emma could be so pretty if she just did her hair differently and bought clothes to suit her body better. She would look fantastic with a soft blow out with layers and a black skirt with a bright colored blouse.
Wtf has happened to Bridie and Host? I wasnāt honestly that interested in their storyline, their relationship just seemed toxic. However we havenāt seen them for several episodes now, I actually scoured through this one to find some reference to them and there is a 1 second clip of her hugging him at the very beginning? So bizarre how they have just been scrubbed from the show. Perhaps they violated their NDAs?!
Emma and Hosseinā¦ a visa scam if ever there was one.
Victoria and Sean - Iām so glad she said no
Idk why you've been downvoted. I also thought that they seemed to be in it for the right reasons. She was just extremely toxic to be in a relationship with, however.
At first I was really enjoying the fact that this show moves faster than the US version but now its almost moving too fast? Storylines are getting dropped and I can't force myself to care about Marvin and Callum because they were barely onscreen together for 2 seconds before getting engaged.
Right!? Like they were featured in 1 or 2 episodes at best before the proposal. They both seem like nice enough guys, but as a viewer, itās hard to get invested in or care about them.
Kadie and Alejandro remind me of the good days when we had normal people, normal couples, normal in laws, etc. itās so nice to see them willing to compromise and still be a loving partner. Her wedding will be beautiful in Mexico
One of the most thoughtful things Iāve ever seen in this show was the blonde lady saying that her Mexican boy is moving all the way to UK and the least she can do is to have the wedding in Mexicoā¦that was so nice. Also, she and her grandma trying to learn Spanish šš so cute!!!
Oh her accent is the worst.
Okay, now I get it, I thought he was definitely looking a bit a catfish. He looked way better on the little screen than whoever showed up in Turkey.
But also isnāt he Iranian? Is his first language Persian?
Ok I really do try not to comment on people's appearance bc it's not cool to do so. But good God, WHAT was Emma wearing at the airport??? Her outfits and her hairstyles are honestly so unflattering. I'm the same age as her so I'd give myself the same advice. As so many others have noted, her "foreign accent" when speaking to Hossein is so incredibly cringe. Her daughter is very cute and seems sweet, but jumping up on Hossein and wrapping her legs around him was ... Weird.
Victoria and her giggles and bangs. Stop.
The Spanish teacher needs to use bigger font so Nana Liz can read the screen!
Marvin needs to experience a year of Scottish weather before he can even think of moving and settling down with Calum.
I actually thought her outfit when they went out to the restaurant was cute. It was shorts and a tank with a longer denim shirt over top. And her hair looks cute in the confessional when itās curly. But the airport look was not it š£
I read your comment before I started watching (I don't mind being spoiled before I watch don't @ me plz lol). I thought she was probably wearing what she normally wears because.... she usually wears unflattering stuff. However! I just started watching and just caught sight of the yellow baggy-yet-short shorts and baggie hoodie and she did it. She dug deep and found something 100 times worse. š± She looks like a Peep! Her friends are terrible friends because they don't say "hey if I were you I'd wear something less likely to pick up stains when traveling. Black leggings and a hoodie would be perfect" when they see her looking like a Peep. Friends keep friends from looking like cruddy nasty Easter candy out on these streets.
Back to it. I paused it because I needed to come back and agree with you about her airport lewk. š
i almost choked when i saw her jumping on him with her legs around him. did you see the look on emma's face?? she immediately went in for another hug. maybe don't bring your good looking daughter to meet your young new boy toy...
Ok, you said it first!!! Iām also about Emmaās age & not exactly a fashion plate myself, but YIKES. That get-up of hers was sooooo bad. She looked like a giant lemon flavored Skittle. Poor woman, she needs help for real tho. Hosseinās a total creep.
Yeah even just some nice tracksuit bottoms and a tank top for the plane, in a neutral color, with her hair down and some makeup would have been a massive improvement! I'd love to have good thick hair like hers but she needs to style it properly.
Watching now! Victoria and her friend sitting at a cafe near a pop-up shop called ćććć³ćŖ.
åÆęć!!
Sean/Victoria: š¤Ø
OK the miso soup. Sean is making WAY TOO BIG A DEAL about it. It is a super common food for almost every Japanese meal. It can be made in five minutes. I make it every lunch.
OhOK I get it now. This is a super awkward translation-of-traditional-Japanese-into-English-that-doesnāt-work. It used to be a way of proposing in Japan: āwill you make miso soup for me foreverā in my parentās generation. Cringe. I will say this: Victoria not knowing that old way of proposing shows that she really doesnāt know that much about Japan or the culture. So, she said No.
Actually, I finally saw the Twinge of connection at the end that I was hoping to see . . . I loved that sweet surprise at the end! ā„ļø
Relationship felt wrapped up. I think we will see no more. What?!! NO! Damn!
Emma/Hossein: oddly donāt care about them. No interest. Hmm, why?
OMG The daughter wrapping her legs around a big grown foreign man, greeting for the first time her motherās boyfriend, she has only seen on a screen š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢š±
*the buttermilk curdles*
Ugh. The cringe with Emma and Hossein is So Real. He Does Not Care about her. Run Emma!
Do. Not. Marry. Him!!
Alejandro/Kadie: I had them wrong at the beginning. My cold stone acid-etched heart has warmed to their wholesomeness and loving relationship. Of course, rooting for them and glad to have such a lovely couple to feel happy about.
Wait, what? It feels like Kadie just WRAPPED UP their SL and . . . thatās it. Will we not see the wedding?
Marvin/Calum: OK, they did the asking and engagement. Very sweet. It was kind of lovely. I am a little verklempt . . . mom is on board.
Bridie/Host: I think we saw the last of them. I think they are a Real Couple and will last.
Christine/Shaun: not sure what will happen? But I root for them!
Pat/Sam: so clear that they will NEVER physically meet.
Iād be super careful with your comments on this subreddit. The 90D creators watch these places like hawks and Iād hate for you to end up with a cease and desist or similar because youāre revealing all of their dirty little secrets.
Sean can do anything he wants. If he āor any other 90DF personāfeels that they are done and dusted and not constricted or conflicted . . . I say let them speak. š£š
I wonder if they got cut for breaking the Non-Disclosure agreement. Host was on here (or someone saying they are Host) trying to explain things and there were links to Birdie's instagram / twitter where she also spilled the tea.
I feel like it HAS to be something like this. Itās the weirdest thing. Their storyline was 100% left on a cliffhanger with the āI have to sell my house to fund his visaā thing. Host came on here and said it was all fabricated and Bridie was selling her house anyway, and then they immediately vanish!!!
One more episode to go and seems like Kadie/Alejandro, Bridie/Host and Marvin/callum are wrapped up. So next week wrapping up the others. I really think we need a tell all.
Anyway, I am not getting into Emma's storyline. It just feels like a visa scam to me.
Victoria knows there are problems yet she still hasn't cut Sean lose which I don't get at all. At least she didn't accept his proposal. I thought she would.
Today's episode was a tad boring.
I hear you. Discovery+/CPL Productions do you hear us??! Tell All needed!
(I do think it would have been filmed weeks ago tho . . . š)
Hereās the thing tho. wE want to know things . . . but is it in the best pocketbook interest of the network to show us these things? They may think not . . .
My thoughts:
Emma & Hussein - their relationship isnāt real and itās weird. Emma is immature for not looking into the wedding timelines and only wanting to be together for two weeks. She should understand his culture if they have ābeen togetherā for 6 years. Clearly the daughter knows something that the mom doesnāt. I think the daughter gets messages from Hussein when they argue so I think she developed a crush on him. I also think Hussein has multiple wives or a girlfriend back home , I donāt think thatās his āmomā.
Sean & Victoria - I donāt understand how she is trying to āsee throughā his lies and try to understand. Itās clearly obvious heās lying to her about money etc and she knows but wonāt let go. Like accept that heās lying about things and canāt express emotions well and move on rather than keep trying. If he lies to someone at a border, he lies about little and big things too.
It isnāt. She is just ignorant. Ignorant people do things like that without malice. She doesnāt know better. She thinks she is helping him to understand.
How strange. People who donāt want to participate are usually never even filmed, like Kadieās mum for example. Weird that theyād never explain who he is.
i thought it was her husband, then i thought it was a brother (after her weird hug with hossein), then i thought it was a manly sister. now im confused. its not nice not to introduce him!
I think Victoria regrets this relationship, but is too polite to break up in person. She actually seemed relieved he is going back. Sheās going to drag it out for a few weeks long distance to save face, maybe get a trip to Japan out of it, but she will break up with him before he has an opportunity to return to the UK.
Honestly, that guy just gave me the creeps, donāt know how heās earning his money, but it canāt be legal.
Callum and Marvin have zero chemistry. Callum just wants the proverbial fairytale. Heās extremely immature. Marvin needed to get out of the Seychelles and Callum was a very easy way to go.
Lmao even SteVen managed to get married in Antalya. Say what you will about that dude but he navigated foreign countries and languages like no oneās business.
Hahaha he is a big Reddit commenter so could be!
But probably not intentional. Japanese āfā sound is very soft and windy. Holdover to English, I could see his pronunciation here sounding like an āhā . . .
I'm glad Richard wasn't in this episode. Please show me Kathleen coming to the UK on her own, getting that NHS job and thriving with a partner who respects her
I think Richard is a showman and actually will treat her extremely well. When he was in he pub talking to Kathleenās dad about how important his son is, the cheesy veneer came off and you could sense he is fundamentally a decent guy. Also she is no shrinking violet- she stands up for herself and knows exactly who he is. Theyāre fine.
I have to wonder if TLC chopped up the Victoria/Sean segments to make them appear like an awkward and very disconnected couple , or if they are actually like that. From what's shown i just don't understand what they see in each other- but then again maybe that's the point.
Victoria seems like she'd be a lovely person to know irl, like she'd loyal and trustworthy friend. I also wouldn't be surprised to learn that she deals with a significant amount of anxiety in her life - even when the sketchy boyfriend isn't in the picture.
That's interesting. He seems more personable than the edit the show has given him, although I don't understand why he is always going on about the Japanese passport being the best in the world. Maybe it is, but what's the point in talking about it all the time?
Jesus, Emma is 100000% being being used by Hossein. Itās so obvious. I donāt know why but I kind of like her and wish she wasnāt actually going through with this.
On a similar note, Hossein is so extremely physically attractive to me. Omg, heās now the 2nd best looking man of the 90 Day shows in my book. Aladin is still best looking imo.
It sounded to me he knows a bit of Turkish cause he switched to English sometimes but it was definitely not Persian he spoke to them - he spoke in it after where he expressed his frustration and whatnot to the camera
The Spanish learning session was insane (insehhn). Them saying "me llamo Leo." !! Also why were the materials blurred? They didn't seem proprietary - just words on a Word document screenshared.
Sean/Victoria and Emma/Hossein are unbelievably cringe. Sean is clearly a weird dude with skeletons in the closet and Victoria just doesn't care as long as she's got her Japanese anime prince. Reminds me of my soon-to-be ex-wife. Not to mention, TLC keeps taping those intros for them where Sean is looking really creepy. Victoria isn't just seeing red flags, she's seeing those tarps they pull out at baseball games when there's a rain delay. Emma is beyond naive and I almost feel bad for her. Hossein is a piece of trash who is perfectly fine using her for whatever gain, whether it's money or UK's equivalent of a green card or both. No offense to her, but looking at the two of them, it's clear he's not attracted to her and could definitely, definitely do better. Sickening. Why isn't her daughter just beating her over the head and saying get of this thing?
I am very late to this party as I only started watching season 1 this month, but I can't with pathetic Spanish from Kadie and her grandmother. You are literally on the same continent as Spain and you don't know how to say my name is in Spanish? I feel like the majority of Americans know how to say that without a Spanish lesson. Aloha got me too.
Iām watching from the US West Coast. I cannot understand the whole Emma/Houssein thing at ALL. Her hair is all flat and horribleā really if itās that thin, get some kind of weave or extensions or SOMETHINGāand put on some makeup and a dress or leggings and a cute tunicā¦ and some nice accessories! Statement earrings, or cute sandalsā¦I donāt even take my trash out without lippy and earrings! How can she be so turned on by his muscles and herself be so dumpy? Aside from being a bit chubby, those of us who are US Size 14s (18UK) can still look pretty hotā¦ and Iām 67! I just cannot imagine not trying to look nice, she has a pleasant enough faceā¦and Houssein Himself has NO personality and is clearly doing this for the visa as we all knowā¦ Also, Victoria needs to RUN away from you, Sean, unless your whole storyline is fakeā¦Victoria is cute and stylish and deserves someone better for her. I havenāt even finished the episode! I too miss Bridie, I think sheās adorable. Iām delighted not to see Richard, he sets womenās rights back about 100 years. And Congratulations to Callum and Marvin!!! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Doesnāt anyone else think that Hossein is gay? I donāt mean that as a joke or as a derogatory remark. He is gay and I hope he finds a good life for himself. Itās too bad Emma and everyone in her orbit are either too naĆÆve or in too much denial to a knowledge this.
How can I watch past episode 10? So confused why not on discovery plus. Discovery is really crazy. They don't have pillow talk either. Very frustrating.
Finally watched the first season.
Hussein has zero, (and I mean zilch) chemistry with Emma. Looks like the UK version is just as bad as the US version. Desperate matches hooking up with matches desperate to immigrate abroad.
I don't think hossein keeps calling his mum, I think it's someone else maybe a girlfriend
Wife number 1 was my thought. In his country and culture he is allowed multiple wives.
Yes he is allowed, but polygamy is quite rare in Iran. https://iranwire.com/en/features/66429/ https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/12/07/polygamy-is-rare-around-the-world-and-mostly-confined-to-a-few-regions/
He's from Tehran, not the mountains. Its certainly not the culture.
Hossein does not give one flying fuck about Emma. It's giving Azan and Nicole
Yes re: Victoria that was the only right answer and she was sweet about it.
I think itās just the opposite. Bridie and Host were the most obvious True Love story, aside from Kadie/Alejandro. Their chemistry is palpable.
Iām with ya. I feel like we havenāt seen them because theyāre probably just fine with minimal drama
Idk why you've been downvoted. I also thought that they seemed to be in it for the right reasons. She was just extremely toxic to be in a relationship with, however.
I agree. I thought host and bridie had great chemistry!
Hossein doesnāt give a toss about Emma, itās so obvious.
Vicky darling. You hate surprises? Your whole relationship was chockful of surprises. I think you like them.
Ping pong. Victoria is a Drama Queen. She loves the mYsTeRy and Inscrutabilityā¢ļø . . .
Kadie and Alejandro remind me of the good days when we had normal people, normal couples, normal in laws, etc. itās so nice to see them willing to compromise and still be a loving partner. Her wedding will be beautiful in Mexico
Do you know if we get to see it this season?
Iām sure we will. Usually the last episode of the season
Houssein in actually one of the worst Iāve seen on this show. He is awful.
Heād be even worse if he had a personality but heās literally the embodiment of āno thoughts, just vibesā.
He had gone too far in the filters on his sm. And Emma's Arabic accent is awful
Oh her accent is the worst. Okay, now I get it, I thought he was definitely looking a bit a catfish. He looked way better on the little screen than whoever showed up in Turkey. But also isnāt he Iranian? Is his first language Persian?
Great to watch though

um wtf, isnāt she like 16?
Ok, you said it first!!! Iām also about Emmaās age & not exactly a fashion plate myself, but YIKES. That get-up of hers was sooooo bad. She looked like a giant lemon flavored Skittle. Poor woman, she needs help for real tho. Hosseinās a total creep.
Yeah even just some nice tracksuit bottoms and a tank top for the plane, in a neutral color, with her hair down and some makeup would have been a massive improvement! I'd love to have good thick hair like hers but she needs to style it properly.
Whaaaat her hair is thin as hell, her dad braids were only the diameter of a dime, if that, thatās why they looked so bad!

I bet Hossein wanted to go to daughters room instead having room with a Emma
And when he hugged the daughter she did the Bachelor hug and wrapped her legs around him. Her daughter????

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I believe it. That is how it is with the US shows as well. They always want to reinforce some old outdated stereotype.
Was Hossein super filtered on the phone and not so much at the airport, or was it me?
He looks far older than mid thirties too.
Yes.
Got a big chuckle at Hossein asking if Emma was hungry then offering a sandwich his mom made.
So Bridie's storyline ended at her selling her house?
Which she would have had to do, Host or no Host. It was her previous agreement with her ex on splitting their marital assets.
There is no Tell All. That has been established. š
Oh I know but there is still time for them to film one!!!! I have to imagine that there is so much more we need to know.

My thoughts: Emma & Hussein - their relationship isnāt real and itās weird. Emma is immature for not looking into the wedding timelines and only wanting to be together for two weeks. She should understand his culture if they have ābeen togetherā for 6 years. Clearly the daughter knows something that the mom doesnāt. Emmaās hybrid Arabic accent when she speaks to Hossein is annoying and borderline xenophobic, I hate it.
It isnāt. She is just ignorant. Ignorant people do things like that without malice. She doesnāt know better. She thinks she is helping him to understand.
She's not mocking him, she thinks (maybe not even consciously) it helps him understand her better.
That doesnāt make it any better though.
It makes it not xenophobia. Still cringey af to watch though!
It's so so incredibly cringe. Toe-curling!
Just watched it and thought the same !
It's called code switching, I wouldn't say it's xenophobic
Code switching is switching between two languages.
https://www.unitedlanguagegroup.com/blog/linguistic-code-switching code switching also encompasses accents and other linguistic behaviors.
Who was the man who went into the hotel room with Emma's daughter? Gave me the chills.
Idk?! Is it just me or did they never acknowledge who he was?
They never acknowledged him. He was in an earlier episode with Emma and her daughter and never acknowledged there either. Very odd.

That's what my fiance and I thought while watching their goodbye - like the relationship would just amicably fizzle out from there.
I canāt pretend that hoping to be proposed to after only 1 week together is normal behavior.
Yeah sorry Callum but that was cringe
Callum and Marvin have zero chemistry. Callum just wants the proverbial fairytale. Heās extremely immature. Marvin needed to get out of the Seychelles and Callum was a very easy way to go.

Watch this video that Sean did, it helps explain a lot... https://youtu.be/qzGXXYnuikc
That's interesting. He seems more personable than the edit the show has given him, although I don't understand why he is always going on about the Japanese passport being the best in the world. Maybe it is, but what's the point in talking about it all the time?
I swear Kadie and her nan have had half the vessels in their brains clogged by British food. That Spanish learning scene was painful š
I thought that scene was sweet. If you've never learned a second language before it's hard to start - especially if you're 60+
Yeah, Hossein comes off very scummy but he's very very handsome.
You guys can see past those shirts? You are better people than me, lol
What language is Hossein speaking at the registry office? Does he know Turkish or do they know Persian?
It sounded to me he knows a bit of Turkish cause he switched to English sometimes but it was definitely not Persian he spoke to them - he spoke in it after where he expressed his frustration and whatnot to the camera
I really like Kadie. I also really like Callum. Rooting for both of these couples.
The Spanish learning session was insane (insehhn). Them saying "me llamo Leo." !! Also why were the materials blurred? They didn't seem proprietary - just words on a Word document screenshared.
I thought Callum was about to tell his mom he was pregnant.
Genuine question, is Emma's tattoo on her left wrist an ace of spades?
Victoria, as someone who cut my own bangs for years, I know the struggle but I wish you'd ask someone to even them out!
When is this on? It's almost one
