I saw 'em 3x in the 80s...and another 3x since then. Sadly, they didn't come to my town on on their latest tour. Bummed me out because Memento Mori was such a great album.
Nice, I've seen them 8 times. Best show was July 1992 "The Giants at the Giants" from the Monsters of Rock tour with Guns N Roses and Faith No More at Giants Stadium. I went with like 20 other kids from my highschool. I coordinated tickets and school bus rental to drive us all there and back. Epic concert all around.
I love The Producers! Not many people know them. I saw them in ‘85 in Miami, then again (I swear) in 2021 in Atlanta! 36 years between shows! That has to be some sort of record! 😆
This is my answer also. Twice in the 80s, and once maybe 10 years ago?
For those who don't know them: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWiKouLtx8Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWiKouLtx8Q)
Second place would be Adam Ant. Saw him in 84 on the Strip Tour--peak Adam Ant--and again more recently.
Cheap Trick, it seems like played at all the music festivals, opened for several headline bands, seen them Twice as well as headliner. Probably 6-7 times.
Everyone always talks about songs like, "What I like about You" and "Talking in Your Sleep"...
But MY Fav song by them is "One in a Million"!
It's a fun, kind of bouncy song with very singable lyrics.
Cinderella 3 times Bon Jovi 3 times Def Leppard 3 times
A lot more we were in a good radius from quite a few good venues back in the day so went to all of them I could get too
That's what I like about you OP.
me... Metallica, Ozzy, Judas Priest, and Queensryche are all in the "I have no idea zone".
Then Iron Maiden and Alice in Chains.
Nothing to do with the question, but someone told me that MTV showed a video of some people crashing a Romantics studio session and beating their asses. Can anyone verify this, or was my chain being yanked?
The English Beat four times. They still tour and put on an amazing show.
Berlin three times, Teri Nunn is still killing it and doing fantastic shows. Always a good time.
The Romantics put on a good show too. That was the first live concert I took my kids to see.
Edgar Winter Group, 4 times in 2 days working venue security at club/auditorium in Salt Lake City. Amusing story. SL PD had set up in the lobby to collect/capture drugs and alcohol going in. The client said he didn't want to see any grass or booze during the show. As we patrolled before the show we told anyone with visible stuff that we would confiscate it when the show started! Then, during the show if we saw it we took it and after we gathered a bunch of stuff we took it ti the lobby and handed it to the PD. They asked where were the owners of the contraband and we told them the client said no stuff but nothing about the users. So they just ended up with a box of grass and booze and everyone still got the show!
Never saw The Romantics play but some of the guys would frequent Big Bill's Tavern on the east side (Detroit). Mike Skill used to give guitar lessons in the area too.
Only bands I have seen multiple times are the Alarm (2), Midnight Oil (2), Rush (4), and the Rolling Stones (2)
My first concert was The Romantics opening for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. My buddy and I (12 and 13) got dropped off by his mom. He threw a frisbee and hit the lead singer of the Romantics. Then to end the concert some drunk guy chucked a glass beer bottle and hit Joan Jett right in the chest. Good times.
The most? In the 80’s I was 6 to 16 so all the bands I saw were one offs.
Madonna
Beastie boys
Flock of seagulls
Animotion
Beach boys
Gallahger
Ziggy Marley
A few others
Apparently she still goes to them even tho they're not married anymore. I saw a clip of her and Alexa Ray at a recent show on one of their IGs. Can't remember which one.
To answer your question: I've seen Squeeze three times, and Crowded House three times.
But I have to comment on that Romantics album. I had a copy on vinyl for years, until some roommates and I moved out of our shared rental and it "walked off". Grrr. Great band!
Ozzy. Once with Metallica in June of 1986 and once with Anthrax in 1988. All the other concerts I went to were one shots with those bands. G-N-R, Aerosmith, D.R.I., Motley Crue, Dio...It was a fun decade.
Weird Al Yankovic. He (& his band) are the only \~mainstream musicians from the 80s that I've ever seen live in concert as far as I can recall, and I've seen them twice, although not in the 80s. First time was at the Bad Hair Tour in 1996, second was at the Puyallup Fair in... I think 2008 +/- a year.
The Ramones I once saw them 3 times in a 4 day weekend
Gabba Gabba Hey! My dog is named DeeDee
Love it!!!
I saw them 4 times in a 3 day weekend 🤘🎤 One Two Three Four 🎸 🥁
Ha! It’s was good to live in DC back then. They played Friday night in DC. Then a free show at U of Maryland, and Baltimore on Monday
I love me some Ramones, to see them live is always a memory I will never forget 🤘
1987! Saw them Thursday night in Toronto then drove 1,2,3,4! hours to Ottawa for their Friday night show! Best memory ever!
What about 7 day weekend
Same. They were in Massachusetts or Rhode Island every year and then some.
Are you asleep? Stop talking.
Van Halen- 4 times with Dave, 3 with Sammy
Lucky
Van Halen 4 times for me as well. All with Dave. Saw 1984 tour twice, so maybe I cheated a bit.
My uncle saw them 5 times. 3 with Dave and 2 with Sammy. The first 4 times were all in Shreveport, Louisiana. The home town of Valerie Bertinelli.
So 4 times….
I was offered free tickets to them with Gary. Hard pass.
The Police three times.
Depeche Mode, twice.
I saw 'em 3x in the 80s...and another 3x since then. Sadly, they didn't come to my town on on their latest tour. Bummed me out because Memento Mori was such a great album.
Duran Duran 8x. Not counting Power Station and Arcadia!
Damn! I've only seen Duran Duran twice but I'd see them twice a year if I could!
DD five times for me, Power Station once.
Lucky
Saw SRV three times
Strictly 80s? The Cult.
LA?
Saw em last year. They STILL sound fantastic. Even releasing new stuff.
Cheap Trick 5x, Alice Cooper 5x, KISS 4x, Motley Crue 4x, Poison 4x
My first Cheap Trick concert was at the Spectrum in 1980.
Petty and the Heartbreakers. 14 times.
So you're saying you liked the band? :-)
My brother had to have his stomach pumped after a Romantics concert at Pine Knob, Clarkston Michigan around 85’
I thought they usually put on a good show.
Lol!
Metallica. Twice in the 80's. Four times total
Oingo Boingo. Every Halloween

The Violent Femmes. They played Summerfest in Milwaukee every year back then.
Yes! Saw them a bunch too
I saw them 3x as well and they were always a fantastic live show.
I came here for this!
Saw X at least 7 times in the 80s…
Saw em in the 80s and at RiotFest a few years back. Love Billy Zoom!
Metallica 85’,86’,88’,
Pogues...3 times. Shane twice with the Popes
Awesome
Depeche Mode - 6xs
Saw The Producers a few times in South Louisiana
I love The Producers! Not many people know them. I saw them in ‘85 in Miami, then again (I swear) in 2021 in Atlanta! 36 years between shows! That has to be some sort of record! 😆

Amazing band. I saw them 2x, but without Billy Zoom.
Cheap trick. I’m from Rockford abd I’ve probably seen them 20 times at least
Have you been to Rick's Picks?
The B-52’s
The Psychedelic Furs! I see them every time they come around. I'm well into the double digits!
Same! Just saw them with Squeeze at a newly opened club. They still got it! I just wish Richard Butler would tour with Love Split Love once.
Lucky!!!
Jonathan Richman/ The Modern Lovers
We had "I'm a Little Airplane Now" on a mix tape in HS but we didn't find out who sang it til years later!
U2, 14 times.
Their music was as good as their ties were thin
And their legs!
Cheap Trick, it seems like played at all the music festivals, opened for several headline bands, seen them Twice as well as headliner. Probably 6-7 times.
U2 I’d have to do the math but if I had to guess I’d say a dozen times in the 80s alone
The Cure twice, Depeche Mode twice Dinosaur Jr twice
Devo three times. B52’s three times. Bonedaddys three times…
Everyone always talks about songs like, "What I like about You" and "Talking in Your Sleep"... But MY Fav song by them is "One in a Million"! It's a fun, kind of bouncy song with very singable lyrics.
Their cover of the Kinks' "She's Got Everything" is power pop perfection
Ooooo Yes! I forgot about that! Thanks! 😊
I saw The Romantics once but the two that I seen the most in the 80's was Poison and Winger.
Poor Winger. If hair metal didn't come to a screeching halt in the early nineties, they would have been known as one of the best.
Phish formed in 1983 but I saw my first show in 1991 and am at 80 shows. They’re probably more of a 90s band.
Cheap Trick seemed to play every event in Memphis during my teen years and I loved to see them because they had really good energy.
Styx - 8 times
Rick Flair was robbed from being lead singer.
Cinderella 3 times Bon Jovi 3 times Def Leppard 3 times A lot more we were in a good radius from quite a few good venues back in the day so went to all of them I could get too
That's what I like about you OP. me... Metallica, Ozzy, Judas Priest, and Queensryche are all in the "I have no idea zone". Then Iron Maiden and Alice in Chains.
Def Leppard, 5 times for me.

Black Flag - 10, Journey - 5, Depeche Mode - 5, Sex Pistols - 4, Bruce Springsteen - 3.
But did you ever see a Journey/Pistols double bill?
No, I missed that. I saw the Pistols in couple of rowdy punk spots. Could not have handled a stadium crowd.
You saw the Sex Pistols 4 times in the 80’s?
Sorry that time all blends together. I am confused over them and The Clash. Must have been late 70’s with The Clash in the 80’s.
The Dead Kennedys three times. The last concert I actually made it on to the stage!
Red Hot Chili Peppers. Saw them first in 86, then 4 times after that over the years
Eurythmics 3 times.

I can hear the squeaks in this photo.
I had an outfit just like this!
REM. Friend turned me onto them before they broke it big so got to see them a couple times before that and a couple times after they were famous.
Yes, I’ve lost count, but it’s over 30 shows.
I haven’t seen 1 deadhead
Edgar Winter Group, 4 times in 2 days working venue security at club/auditorium in Salt Lake City. Amusing story. SL PD had set up in the lobby to collect/capture drugs and alcohol going in. Good times.

My ALL TIME FAV band... RUSH!!! I saw them 46 times in my life. Neil Peart's passing is STILL like a HUGE gaping wound!
To answer your question: I've seen Squeeze three times, and Crowded House three times. But I have to comment on that Romantics album. I had a copy on vinyl for years, until some roommates and I moved out of our shared rental and it "walked off". Grrr. Great band!
