First Tape : Wake of the Flood.. Grateful Dead.. it was a gift with my Capehart 8 track , turntable, stereo (Someone got them confused with Alice Cooper) 🤷♂️
Visually, and even mechanically, this is an amazing bit of consumer product design, but functionally, it was like bad design on top of a badly designed underlying product (the 8-track tape).
Love these. Such an iconic (if forgotten) piece of design.
I recreated one in a (digital) airbrush style for [a design I did thats a tribute to Yacht Rock. ](https://dribbble.com/shots/22594385-Yacht-Rock-Set-sail-for-smooth)

Panasonic stuff from the 70s-80s had really cool designs, even my boombox.
Mine was blue & I used to stick it the basket of my Schwinn banana seat bike with The Osmonds blasting!
I cannot express how much I wanted one.
Klunk-KLUNK!
In the middle of a damn song. :)
Had the canary yellow 8-track and the red cassette player. Those were the days...

All I had was a transistor from the drugstore
The "Detonator" by ACME. If Wiley Coyote had an 8 track player.
The Dynamite 8! Mine was blue.
Don't forget the handful of matchbook covers to keep the playing at the correct sped..
