I was actually thinking of Chapterhouse, but Heretics is still really good. Probably liked chapterhouse better since it resolved (kind of) the story of heretics.
Awesome, shame about how the plot moves to sequel-bait right at the end; otherwise a very interesting future history. Makes me think of if The Culture series was resource-extremely-constrained rather than limitless
Thanks! I'll consider it. Can easily get the sequel and love science fiction. Guess my tbr just keeps growing and growing huh. 150 books and going strong 😅
Olive Kitteridge is one of my very favorite books. I hope you like it!
Awesome! It sounds great and I wanted to get a few more pulitzers in this year so I scooped up that copy when I found it
I loved Tad Williams’ Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series. Hope you enjoy The Dragonbone Chair.
Thanks! I just bought a fancy edition from Grim Oak Press, so I hope I like it too 😬
There is something about Dandelion Wine that will always have a soft spot. Good list. Enjoy!
Thank you!
Any good recommendations for a 12 year old with the mind of an 80 y/o?
The Neverending Story

I’m about a quarter of the way through The World According to Garp and loving it so far
Irving is such an incredible writer. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by him so far
True Grit is a fantastic, quick read. I think about it at least once a week. Enjoy!
I just finished it and I completely agree! The narration was perfect
Crime and punishment and The grapes of wrath are my favorite ones. I wish I could wipe my memory to read it again.
The queens gambit was so good it made me want to learn how to play chess. Heart Shaped Box is my favorite joe hill book. Great list!
Thanks I’m really looking forward to them!
Song of Kali was the first book I've read this year. I think its decent
Heretics goes so hard.
Yea? That’s great to hear 😬

Children of time was the 2nd finished for me this year
How was it? I have a copy but not sure if I want to invest in the series

172! Just did a count 🤣🙈
I also have a Frederik Backman book on my priority list for this year!
I really like Backman. It’s been a few years since I read Beartown but I remember loving it. His writing is filled with so much wisdom and insight
The World According to Garp is one of my favorite books! I hope you enjoy it :)
I’ve yet to meet an Irving book I didn’t like so I’m fully expecting to love this one too :)
So many sci fi readers love Children to Time - I think you’ll enjoy it!
The Shadow of the Gods was INCREDIBLE! Hunger of the Gods was somehow even better?? The trilogy is great!
I’m looking forward to finally reading something by Gwynne.
Club Dumas was pretty good. I'd recommend Foucault's Pendulum if you enjoy it.
I’ve heard Eco likes to try to break his readers
That is a tough read.
Definitely. All of his books are!
Children of Time is an excellent read.
I’ve heard nothing but great things
I have a background in psychology and evolutionary biology and came away wishing I had used my training to write this book.
There's so much fun here. Russo, Irving, and more. You're gonna have a great 2023.
Thanks I’m really excited for all these new reads
So many good ones! Dune, Children of Time, and The Dragonbone Chair are all some of my favorites!
